This is it... I found what you need to buy. The Villa de la Mina, Terlingua, Texas
Near Big Bend in West Texas, this ghost town was built in the early 1900s during a silver mining boom. It was constructed entirely using local rock and handmade bricks from crushed rock on site, creating fortress walls built to withstand a battalion.The $1.75 million property includes 20 standing buildings, a pool, a water holding tank and the largest mine in the area with a railroad track leading into it. The village buildings include stables, a jail, an eight-room hotel and more on 62 acres. This screams Matt....

Have you thought about looking into a decommissioned military base. Essentially a small town, but some additional facilities that expand the possibilities exponentially. Just a thought.
ye there is Pyote Air Force Base in west texas not far from san Antonio dont know if u can buy it though but all the foundations are still there so could just rebuild the buildings

As soon as I saw the title I instantly thought "Ghost Town Living." It's awesome you shout out Brent! I went on a binder of his videos a few months back and was completely shook about how much it takes to get an actual ghost town into public safe area

I've been a Subscriber over a year. Brent's had Lots of Adventures & helpful volunteers. He has had some dangerous difficulty & the hotel with museum grade artifacts burnt to the ground. Really Great Channel 👍‼️‼️

Ghost Town Living and Brent are totally worth the free shout out. What he's doing is super cool and is another favorite channels of mine.
Forget a ghost town. I think what would work even better for you is purchasing a summer camp.
You'll have lodging, a dining hall, meeting areas, space for pew pews, and recreation. It'll be the perfect Demo Retreat.
Great idea! Some awesome cabins and a pool. Lots of different things to renovate it would make for extremely interesting content and when it was done it would absolutely be able to handle what he was talking about.

Hi Matt. Fun fact: the tiny Texas town of Albert is famous for having once been sold in it's entirety on eBay. Most of the microtowns around Fredericksburg have been well developed at this point. Famously, Luckenbach is in that area. You'll probably need to look elsewhere.
Albert was for sale not too long ago again.
Hell yeah! I've been watching the progress on Cerro Gordo for about a year, and I never thought I'd see the day you two would crossover!
I think Brent would go to Demo Ranch without any issue. I'm sure he's got a gun or 2 up there with him and if they went to Cerro Gordo in the winter, they could ski while they were there. Not to mention I'm sure Matt wouldn't mind going into the mine too. Been watching Brent for almost the entire 2 yrs he's had the channel but Demo I was watching way before that.
This makes me happy that im not the only one thinking these things lol mid state NY here.

@biblereader HeavyD also collaborated with Adventures With Purpose-they’re a dive that travel the states using sonar to find missing ppl in their cars then float &/or tow to recover the cars. They’ve sold 22 cold cases. They’re working on a secret special case now. HeavyD would be the guy to call if Matt does decide to move old buildings for sure.
I dont watch the car stuff, but I respect the "I like it, it's fun, and it's not going anywhere" keep your channel yours man!

Hell, I personally don't care what you do, as long as its entertaining. So far you have never fell short on the entertainment.
Matt, A beer garden or AN Air BnB are both small scale projects at just about the same level as the abandoned mansion, BUT renovating a ghost town... That's on a WHOLE NEW level! With a ghost town you could have a beer garden AND an Air BnB, and so much more! It's everything in one big package! GO FOR IT! With so many renovations on so many buildings it could become its own separate channel! You could also expand the town with more of your own ideas!
Could always buy a large abandoned building or town and turn it into a Airsoft-MilSim range.
People often travel to go to events at these. It's in theme with Demo Ranch. Can work on cars to use as armored vehicles/objectives. Maybe get into selling Bunker Branding Airsoft rifles.
Just my idea.
I watch people like KickingMustang and they make it look really entertaining when they fight at these.

Omgosh your daughter is getting so tall! I'm an old lady and I like the car stuff by the way, glad it's not going away. But awesome ideas too! And I've followed Ghost Town Living for a while, it's cool. My "hometown" is population 4. It was a town decades ago, a tornado came through and destroyed it. now it's just a grain elevator. Interesting how many little places/stories are around.
Would love to see you follow up on your Vet roots, buy a ranch and turn it into a rehab and shelter for abandoned/abused animals. That would be a channel worth watching!
Maybe start from the ground up? Buy land and start from scratch so everything is exactly how you would want it. What kind of events are you wanting to take place and what will you need? A stage for shows/music? Places people can rent and stay at? Shooting range? ATV or Go-kart track? Drag strip? All of the above?
And what put brand new construction buildings and roads? What's so special about that?
I love watching all the Cerro Gordo ghost town videos!!! It is so cool to see the history and learn more about it.

Make your own town! If you have property, move “abandoned” buildings, fix them up, and create what you want!
I was thinking the same thing.....get a nice piece of property on a river or natural lake, and "design" your own ghost town. Too bad Matt doesn't read the comments....
It would be easier to put up timber and frame construction than move a bunch of buildings. Keeping them old in terms of construction is another thing; any new buildings would need to meet code requirements of some kind. Incredibly simple if there's limited rules and regulations; very difficult with them. That's about the only benefit to having an existing structure; moving said structure is an entirely different story.
@@edwardmorley8359: constructing new "old" buildings hardly a ghost town makes! At least with relocation, there is some authenticity. And since when has Matt not been up to a good challenge?
@@rainbocatz6376 Being up to a good challenge is one thing; investing heavily in moving old structures another.
Two problems with that idea, aside from the expense:
1. You have to have somewhere to get the old structures from.
2. Old structures means deteriorated structures which would have to be reinforced to move.
Either way, the buildings are going to have to be brought up to some kind of standard in order for people to use them, but that wasn't really my point.
It's far more practical to find a site which already has the buildings if possible, and work from there.
It's also more authentic. Whether you relocate old buildings or build new buildings using traditional construction, you're still losing the authenticity of the old Ghost town.
I think it’s the history which makes a ghost town significant though

I have been following Brent's channel, Ghost Town Living for 2 years. Almost since it's inception. He has had Heavy D Sparks out there several times. That really helped grow his channel.
I found u thru the abandoned mansion in lockdown and watched with my husband and enjoyed so much I’ve gone back to the beginning of off the ranch and am enjoying that too the kids are tiny 🥹

It would be cool to build houses for homeless veterans! They're the ones that deserve it and I'm sure a lot of American companies would get behind doing something like that! Turning an old ghost town into a veteran neighborhood would be awesome!

I would have a serious talk with Brett from Ghost Town Living before even considering buying a ghost Town. I have watched his channel since the beginning and you wouldn’t believe some of the hurdles he has had to go over to bring the town back to life. Greta idea though

Matt, you should try to buy the old “Alamo Village” near Bracketville. Talk about history. What’s bigger than John Wayne? it’s a ranch and we would definitely be there. Went there years ago when it was a theme park type destination and watched the gun fights. Anyway, just a thought.

When i was doing research on my family tree, i found a tiny town near the TX border called Independence. One family of ours lived there at the time of a census. Now the town seems to be gone! Have you considered looking at olllllllllld maps of the area to see towns that aren't on current maps?

Look up "Desert Bar Parker AZ" it's out in the middle of the desert and self sustained off the grid. He has built that bar into something amazing. We go every year and take the can-am. Doing something like this in Texas would be cool!

Check out Lometa, TX. The downtown area is a few historic buildings that are mostly abandoned or vacant and selling for cheap. It's right on highway 183, so easy to get to with good traffic. 15 minutes away from Lampasas and 15-45 minutes from 6 or 7 state parks. I bought land out here and love the small town vibes.

Buy the flying L in Bandera, it has a ghost town,hotel resort, lazy river,mini golf,full golf course,halls for events,large smokers,a bar, animal stall areas,even has a landing strip. It’s about 30min from Beorne
