Just a question. Miss Nevada this year was transgender, does that mean she was in the Miss America pageant since she was technically not female? Honest question, not trying to start a fight.
Yeah, how does that work if the person is transgender? Does it matter? Do pageants discriminate? Do you think it matters if a someone is born one gender or another and changes, would they be any less of a woman or candidate for a Miss America or Miss USA?
@@cheryl-lynnmehring8606 discrimination happens everywhere. There’s never a guarantee that a judge won’t discriminate against a transgender contestant, or even someone who practices a different religion or has a different political view. But, regardless of the potential for discrimination, we’ve still seen transgender contestants win a USA state title or National title for Miss Universe.

I genuinely believe people don’t understand there are possibly hundreds of different systems out there so this is really informative to help break up the two major systems for people to understand better.

Hi Dani, thank you for another great video. I have two questions 🙈: 1. Do you know what percentage of scores the allocate to the different areas of competition at Miss Universe? 2. I've also noticed that a lot of queens tend to answer political questions in a diplomatic fashion without giving the typical "world peace pageant answer". Do you have any advice about how to achieve this? How do you answer difficult questions about issues you're passionate about without alienating those you represent?
Nothing, they eliminated completely the gown competition and our back stepping but to save face are calling it red carpet. Even through i was confused this year at Miss America because they didn't seem to judge that area
Regardless of the system, and my primary pageant system I support is Miss America, as a pageant fan, I support these amazing women that compete in pageants. I could care less what pageant system it is. Whatever pageant system one is comfortable with is up to the contestant. More power to these ladies!
So miss usa and miss universe are no longer room mates right? since the prizes have changed after the turnover of Miss Usa to a different owner. Miss USA will be living in los angeles while Miss Universe will be living in new york. Correct me if im wrong. Thank you!
Miss America is drastically different, mainly for forgetting their legacy and growing in a horrible direction. Miss USA seems to have a better grasp on merging a titleholder with modern society without forgetting where she came from.
Poor Miss America Org…. It’s turned into this rando looking live reality competition show, totally not fit for its legacy. I tried watching the 100th anniversary and couldn’t finish it due to how painful and cringey that entire production / competition value was… eeek👀
It was so bad…the women are spectacular, gorgeous and elegant and the production made them all look like they were on an alien planet…so not what they deserved.
