      LITTLE-KNOWN FACTS ABOUT PUTIN.
      In 2013, before a coup d'etat took place in Ukraine, he asked the then President of Ukraine, Yanukovych, not to use force.
      In 2014, when the Ukrainian army was encircled in the Donbas, Putin called on the separatists to release the AFU soldiers from the "boiler" and exchange prisoners.
      In 2014, realizing that the conflict could escalate into a fratricidal war, Putin proposed a plan to resolve the crisis in Ukraine "Minsk 1". The peace initiatives assumed the cessation of offensives by all armed formations in the Donbas, the withdrawal of all troops to a safe distance from populated areas, international control over the observance of the ceasefire, the refusal of Ukraine to use military aviation against civilians, the exchange of prisoners under the "all for all" scheme, as well as the opening of humanitarian corridors.
      In 2015, Putin actively supported German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who proposed a special procedure for the entry into force of the law on the special status of Donbass provided for by the Minsk agreements.
      In 2015, in order to resolve the crisis in Ukraine as soon as possible, he proposed to sign an additional agreement "Minsk 2", where the obligations of the parties to the conflict were spelled out in more detail.
      In 2017, Putin proposed to place a UN mission on the line of contact in the Donbas to ensure the safety of employees of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission. Later, Putin did not rule out that such a mission could be located throughout the conflict, but with the consent of the proclaimed republics of Donbass.
      In 2021, Putin warns NATO countries against crossing "red lines" and invited them to dialogue, but his proposal was rejected.
      In 2022, after the outbreak of the war, Putin forbade the military to shoot at civilian objects and, if possible, at industrial infrastructure, which greatly hindered the army's advance.
      But after numerous terrorist acts of the Ukrainian regime, he allowed the bombing of the energy infrastructure. By the way, the Russian army is the only one in the last 100 years that complies with the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
      For 22 years of his manifestation, Putin has not made a single geopolitical mistake, and the Russian economy, as noted by leading world analysts, has achieved outstanding results, even despite unprecedented sanctions.
      Putin did not start this war against his people in 2014 - but he will end it!
      Will you still believe fake news?
      P.S. In the West, everyone expects Vietnam, Iraq, Libya from Putin... That's not going to happen. He's a Mission!

    An interesting parallel here is that the Gestapo regularly assessed the mood in the German population and that the regime felt it had to consider that mood.
    For example, they tried to shift to wartime economy in 1939, but in light of Germans not liking the long working hours and other restrictions that came with it, shifted it back.
    In some ways, dictatorships are much more dependent on the moods of the population than democracies, because the mood shifting is so much more dangerous to the dictator, if he ends up as the lightning rod.
    The worst that can happen to a democratically elected leader is that he loses power. No one will kill him, no one will take away the money he made during his time, and election day might be years away. Moods change.
    If the mood changes against a dictator, the likelyhood of a coup rises very quickly and a dictator usually leaves his office only as a body.

    Assuming 65.000 dead russians , and 100.000 injured severely plus perhaps 700.000 regugees in the reproductive, productive age , This is a demographic disaster for Russia , as birthrate, already low, at 1.2 million, is too low. One years production of people is soon lost! Thank you for What you do, Anders

      They have stolen millions of Ukrainians to add to the ones willingly becoming Russians like they did during Holodomor to help that ailing birth rate but doesn’t long term solve anything. Next year was to be the first negative in population for many decades.
      Rather than make it a country they want to live in and do well they’ve attacked their neighbour. Promised pension and wage increases never happened. Instead their billionaires have super yachts, palaces and safe havens in Europe.

      They are already bombing their own Belgorod thanks to misfires and crashed planes.
      The russians will absolutely sacrifice their cities and their male population and still lose. Like they always do. Every war russia was in, they either lost badly like in Japan, Afghanistan or Chechnya, or had USA bail them out.

    • @aaronbaker2186
      @aaronbaker2186 ปีที่แล้ว

      Defenses are set up for the areas you expect anattack. Once Ukraine sets up defenses for the cities the drone attacks will suffer similar losses there.
      Then Amnesty International will say that the anti-drone weapons make the cities legitimate military targets and say Ukraine is using the cities as human shields.

When I was in Russia in 2000, the narrative about the Second Chechen War on television was like: It's a low-tide conflict in a country far far away, so there is something fishy in the state of Denmark, but it's well under control, so don't worry, folks. Putin started to crack down on free media in Russia the year after, but they had already limited the access of journalists to the war zone. Because one reason why Russia lost the First one was that journalists, including Russians, had free access, held interviews with the rebel leader Djokhar Dudayev etc.

    Very interesting. What I take from this is 1) that Russia, despite seeming fixated on the west, is really (in its behavior in general and specifically in its bombing of non-military sites) really turned inward; it's placating the hardliners and satisfying rage. Also, 2) the Russian media in seeming to engage in criticism is really creating the sense of "we belong in one club where we can disagree with each other"; it is solidifying the us/them thinking (as it deflects attention, as you say).

      @@attilamarics4808 i agree that power stations and the electricity grid are legitimate targets in a war, and not terror. However, Russia is also targetting pretty random civilian targets. How was it possible for Putin to be threatening nuclear war for months, and the Russian people thought nothing big was going on.

    • @stevepirie8130
      @stevepirie8130 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vast majority of Russians gave up their say with the deal that Putin does politics for them but leaves them alone to live their lives. A small % hate the war but have no leader or means to stand up to it. Then the rest back him 100% and have all the support needed by the state.
      Most people asked about their views on the war walk away saying, “I’m apolitical, I have no views.” If they complain or demonstrate they run the risk of losing their job, pension, benefits, house, serve jail time, etc. So it’s hard for us in free states to imagine why they don’t speak up but reality is very hard there.

    • @zloyboy8
      @zloyboy8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe because he wasn't the one doing that ? It was propaganda from the other side, attempting to get the masses to follow blindly and be willing to sacrifice their living standards for it.
      The only time putin actually said anything about nuclear war, was like a month ago, as a response to the propaganda in the west about him saying it. And clearly stated the conditions for ever using nuclear weaponry.
      There is propaganda on both sides, do keep that in mind.
      Both sides require the masses to be on their side, Russia mainly cares about its own people to follow , while Ukraine mainly needs the western countries to follow, so we are given propaganda to keep us in line.
      I remember how 2 months in this conflict we kept being told every month that Russia is about to fallback and its about to end and how utterly horrible everything is there.
      Meanwhile 9 months later we are here, and thr conflict doesn't really seem like it's nearing it's end.
      Unless the winter cold hits real bad to certain countries
