I spent all my summer vacations watching this as well. I’m Italian and love cooking. My great grandma and grandma were wonderful cooks. I wanna meet Emeril. At least once. What an amazing person.
I am so happy I came across this episode today. I think I shed a tear or two. This man single handedly turned me into the home cook “chef” I am today. The best show ever on Food Network, there’s no comparison.
He was HANDS DOWN, the best chef instructor on the food network. They made a mistake by removing him. He was old school and could really cook. I really loved watching and learning from him. His show was the best.
how come they took him off the air? i miss watching him,,,i know we can go on youtube but its not the same,,,im talking about scheduled live on air series
Yeah. Competition and Reality shows are soooooo cringy, dramatic and making us so stressed that resulting that shorten our lifespan. Life's too short for too much drama. I would much rather watch cooking shows that you can make at home.
I understand and I feel the same way! ,I remember back in the early 2000s I use to watch it on food network in which it came on at 8:00 pm in New york, I lived in New york all my life even now. I would eat my meals while watching the show and I will never forget those wonderful memories.....hell I still do watch emril live while eating my meals lol
Whenever I was sick as a kid, I always felt a little better when I watched Emeril. Now here I am, 15 years later, a grown adult, sick with the flu, watching this show to feel better - Such fond memories. :)
i much prefer this type of show vs the current crop of stupid competition shit. I don't want drama in every show i watch, i just want to watch some good food being made.
Way before Bobby ,Micheal,Ina or Giada, there was Emeril, teaching and showing us first what the others already knew, and are know spouting as gospel.Emeril made it comfortable for kids to watch cooking shows, leading to shows strictly for kids something never thought of years ago.If they had a show with a kid as host I wouldn't c be the the least bit surprised, these are not your run of the mill kids in fact I think some are professional there pretty talented. So next we're watching the Food Network or any network please remember who taught you first.z😅
@wolvieguy Jeff Smith was smeared and thrown off t.v., he was a good man and had a philosophy to share which was too far in the future. I remember he said, you deserve a nice meal, just because you're single doesn't mean your life is sandwiches. HE said, you want to learn about the world, eat with cultural people. That will tell you what grows there, ingenuity, different traditions and manners. He was a decent man ahead of his time. I still see his books about bread and recipes at garage sales. He was a great man. It made me sick when they said he did this or that perversion. He didn't deserve to be beaten up.
I loved watching him with my single dad who raised 2 girls on his own. He would take the recipes and make us delicious food. I’ve used his recipes to make my Cajun Turkey and it’s a hit. Every year.
When Food Network had real shows. Molto Mario, Good Eats, Emeril Live, Tyler's Ultimate... real cooking shows with explanations and insanely great recipes instead of a thousand reality shows with terrible people trying to cook for teams under chefs, or dramatic girls in cupcake wars.
I was always jealous of the people in the audience that got to eat his amazing food. 80% didn't need it cause they were fat enough already and the other 20% didn't care about what he was doing . They just came to be on tv and look stupid. I'm still jealous today
I use to watch him everyday after school from 4 to 6 why I do my homework love watching him cook, I miss him, they should have not taking him off tv, he put the food network on the map ❤️❤️
I truly miss thee emiril lagasse show and watched it every night during the time it aired on Emeril Live. Truly missed. Tops all current chefs shows to date!!
I really do miss Emeral. Growing up as a young boy I used to watch his show with my Nana. Between him and my Nana they taught me how to cook delicious food. I miss his show, and my Nana. God bless him and his recipes.❤❤❤
@@AmericaNeedsWeed Well why not? Everyone is getting hot and spewing hate? Who knows - you might just tip the balance and Emeril will disappear. (Sarcasm, if you didn't get it.)
I miss this show so much! I used to stay up late all the time and watch food network. Everything is a reality show now :( I miss the authenticity of how it was
He was and still is the man...Bam. I so enjoyed watching this at night when it was live, and on tv. That entire meal was amazing. He sure had to hustle to get it all done, and on the table. Doc Gibbs and his band were great. I miss these shows.
I watched HGTV and Food Network daily when they had this caliber of shows in their lineups. Now I'm back to PBS where it all originally started. Those really were the good ole days sigh.
I watched Natalie Dupree, Martha Stewart, Justin Wilson, Paul Prudhommme, and John Folse on PBS as a teen. I still love PBS suspenseful dramas, holiday and non holiday concerts, and of course the cooking and baking shows.
Thank you for uploading this great holiday episode show,it brought back beautiful memories! They do not make shows like these anymore,it was our favorite on the food network channel. Emeril was such a great showhost!
Mr. Emeril I have learned so much from watching your show. From how to use knives, to making the best steak no steak house could touch and for that I thank you.
Audience is prepped by producer of show to wooo & aww.. and are given a signal when to clap as well. That's the only part of the show I didn't enjoy as it got so boring after awhile....loses it affect.
The way he would start a meal, helped me to learn to cook while recovering from surgery. Many years later still enjoy his older shows. Helped put Food network in business.
I watched HGTV and Food Network daily when they had this caliber of shows in their lineups. Now I'm back to PBS where it all originally started. Those really were the good ole days sigh.
Brought back good memories watching emeril !! No doubt best food network show ever ! Most new shows are carbon copy timed cooking shows … 3 2 1 hands in the air - boring Plz Plz. Bring back emeril.
I remember being about three or four watching it with my granddaddy..this and the Andy Griffith Show really brings back memories, haha I always loved it when he said bam
Emeril is the man i have been a fan since i was a freshman in high school. Love the Food Network. Hes one of the kings on that network with cooking and recipes. Can't wait to visit one of his restaurants.
All my family's gone, it's just me, myself & I, & I'm not cooking a whole Thanksgiving dinner for ONE. So I thought I'd watch my ALL-TIME fave chef do his Thanksgiving "thang" today. Luv ya, Emeril!
Man, Forgot How legendary this show was. A live taping coupled with his own band. Johnny Carson (jimmy fallon for todays viewers) of cooking shows😂 cause he was funny too!
Memories of watching with my mom, aunt, and my grandmother during cold winters visiting in Indiana. Ugh, miss those days. Nevr been much of a cook, but he always got me into the idea.
Used this one year bout earlier 2000s or after this episode but didnt brine it which I was the point but the citrus & butter was great for the Thanksgiving turkey plus gravy. Many nights as a single & new father. Nut was a great recipe from the man Emirel LaGasse
I used to love his show. Gives you ideas for dinners. He was a good looking guy when he was young and not obese. I bought his honey mustard, it was really unique tasting not like the regular stuff. I don't know if he put something hot in it, but it had a unique flavor and served that in a bowl with a lovely shank ham. That bowl was empty at the end of the meal.
This man is awesome, great energy and an awesome sense of humor. I miss when food Network was about good cooking shows and not this reality gameshow crap. I guess this is why youtube is taking over..TV networks are so far behind
Nicest dude too! Met him in New Orleans during a fest. He bought the dinner my wife and I were having after I got all nerd fan on him. Damn, that was... almost 20 years ago wow.
I also went to his Orlando restaurant before it closed. One of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. I could’ve saved some money and had the same experience had I just gone to a Chili’s
@@johnselwitz5362 I agree, it was expensive. But I liked the food and I was impressed we had our own personal waiter at the table. Yea I agree, food somewhere else would have been better and less expensive.
I loved Emeril Lagasse, Tyler Florence Ultimate, Bobby Flays Brunch at Bobby’s and other Bobby Flay earlier shows, and Alex Guarnaschelli’s Alex Day Off were my favorites. Real food that real non chef humans could cook or bake at home.

It was the first Food Network show to actually register a Nielsen rating.

the original Iron Chef Japan and then Good Eats was what made food Network famous
