nice to see you got a few i passed you leaving pier 47 i was behind sea bass in a gray bay liner we went to the golden gate for rock fish and ling cod for a few drifts no keeper lings but got 21 brown rock fish then to the flats got three keeper halibut lot of shakers and stripers. last weekend we killed it and limited the boat 9 keeper halibut in south bay bite was slow today till next time.
Ya you can just use your halibut rigs or shrimp fly rigs and I noise hook a live anchovy on each hook and make sure you use a weak line for the weight so if you snag you just pop the weight off and drift right between the pilings on the sf side from the red buoy just outside the gate all the way under the bridge until that water depth gets deep and just drive back out and do it again Waters got to be pretty nice or it's real rough though and good luck
Back in the days they used to have live anchovies in SF, Berkeley and Richmond. Great video and looks like you guys had a very good day. Makes me miss fishing in california... You can also troll and catch allot of Halibut, Richmond is a good place also to launch. greetings from Portland Oregon Usa
Aside of being super tired..... you the man. It’s hard to prep all day, then drive out to launch, ride out all the way to the pier to get bait then ride back to begin drifting. And of course, drive back home to clean n what not.
Oleg, you launched in Almeda, did you go all the way to San Francisco to get anchovy? Or was there a place in South Bay? We just went out on the charter last weekend and now we're going to go out on our boat just like you did. We just don't want to have to go all the way to San Francisco to get the anchovy.
Yo! Well done, I have a few questions, my boat will be fixed in a few weeks and want to learn halibut just like you. 1 you said you launched from Alameda Boat launch? 2 can you tell me where you bought the live bait? 3 were you on anchor or drifting when you were catching? Thanks in a advance...I heard halibut is great and want to catch some too!
That was such a great video. Lots of action! Keep up the good work man! I love the fact that you get to fish with your wife, mine hats fishing. Thanks for sharing.
If possible, it’s better to use a pair of fish grippers on the undersize fish. Using a net splits their tail and can lead to tail rot.
👌
Knowingly that the halibut is small and you still net them is bad fishing
I haven’t been fishing in the sea so I enjoy every time I see one of this videos👍
Oh yeah thanks bro

What size line or you running for main line and leader lines?
Personally I run 65# Power Pro and 20# Yo-Zuri florocarbon topshot seems to work for me. I also tie an Alberto knot to connect to the main line.
What tigers are you using I had mine in a rodl holder and it broke and shot off like a rocket never to be seen again
