Thank you for making this video! It really helps those of us who are still choosing a path in life and aren't sure where to go.

I just stumbled upon your video and totally agree, you made the right decision to drop out of law school and forget it. I have a video up about why going to law school is a bad idea (somewhat geared toward Asian Americans in particular). More people need to know about the dismal career prospects most J.D.s have; it is definitely not worth getting into debt. Hope you did not get into debt, and that you have success in whatever your other pursuits are!

The ABA has recently forced a few bottom-ranked law schools to close, but it needs to be more pro-active. It needs to investigate why the bar pass rate has been dropping precipitously year after year. In addition, lawyers are required to be very honest and ethical, dishonest lawyers are disbarred all the time. . .in one case a lawyer was permanently disbarred from the practice of law for using a slug in a parking meter, so save himself twenty-five cents--but law schools are allowed, almost encouraged to lie, trick and deceive students into applying to law school to get jobs that don't exist. You learn to lie from the moment law schools start recruiting you and boasting about hot careers in International Law, Sports Law, and even Space Law! I have been practicing for over a quarter-century, I have yet to meet a Space lawyer, Sports lawyer, etc., and know of precisely one lawyer to did some short-term work in International law. Law schools tell applicants "some of our students get jobs at big law firms earning 190,000 per year" leaving out that "some of our students" means "ninety law students out of one hundred will never, ever, even get an interview for such a job. They're only interested in hiring students in the top 5-10 percent of their class."

@@criminallaw9573 good points as always. For less than T14 schools, those top firms won't even be recruiting there anyway. I just saw a sad video posted by a Charlotte School of Law graduate who is working as a stripper & living out of her car.

@@aalegalfocus Sad but not surprising. Most of the student loans being made to people for law degrees will never be paid back. . .

Unfortunately, the past forty years verify all this youngster said......... corruption, supply and demand, injustices..........all happening now, today, more than ever, and being a lawyer has zero esteem value, more unethical and dollar chasing.........and I LOVE THE LAW!

agreed the key is whether you enjoy what you do to some degree. I can't be sure I will enjoy law....but I find myself enjoying reading cases, law books, and other things that people typically dismiss as boring. So guess I'm going the right route...will see though. Like you said...everything is hard so study for something you enjoy/you're passionate about not something you don't believe in/enjoy. Good vid
I disagree though on your pessimistic position regarding the Law though....but I understand why you feel the way you feel. The Law isn't perfect and it needs drastic improvements...but to a large degree, it works. There isn't widespread anarchy as there is in some countries across the world. But yeah good vid

Your career would be on fire right now as a Computer Scientist Lawyer. Firms cannot hire enough technologist. And you don't rely on the law" Really? Everything we touch is controlled by the Rule of Law, and without it we would have anarchy. "They want the supply of cases to be looked at to be low" while the demand is high. Did you even pay attention in law school?
