Thanks for the video. I have recently joined the local ARES team and most don't have much experience with digital and there are local arguments on which route to take. This series will help!
+masterkeep Outstanding!!! In trying to hear threw series toward emergency comms, though the start might be too basic for some. Leery me know how I'm doing as we move along. Don't hold back!
+TheSmokinApe thanks Ape. Digital comms for preparedness is a big topic. I'll kick off the series slow and easy, then move over to some deployment simulations for practical training. They will be relevant to emergency comms and survival community alike.
Great video, looking forward to the upcoming videos in this series. A bit off topic here but what is your opinion of the Alex loop compared to the Chameleon loop antennas. Thanks Shan and keep up the great work.👍
I'm super new to this but my question is can you communicate between all three setups? The software can all decode and transmit the same audio but is just running on different devices correct?
Excellent vid even though my rig is different. Also, I just installed Linux Mint 18.1 and FLDigi, etc. I'm waiting on building an antenna in a couple of months when the snow is gone and the ground thaws. Do you see any problem with Linux Mint and the Signalink USB interface? I don't like to assume things, but if you have good luck using Ubuntu, mine should be good, right?
A good friend of mine ***** is using Linux Mint as you are. From some of his posts, I would conclude he is very happy with it. His setup also includes the SignaLink, but FT-817/FT-897. In any event, I think you'll be very happy. Thanks for watching and stopping by.
Thanks, Julian. Just what I wanted to hear! I've got an IC-7300 and can't wait to use it. Digital modes will be my primary objective. BTW, I just subscribed to your channel. 73, KD2BOB
Yet another informative video from STN. You sir have set the bar high indeed. Have you gotten a 3d printer yet? If not email me, I may be able to help you out. Info on qrz is correct. AC2UD
+Hard Life thanks. I figured we needed something operators could bite into. I'm tired of watching videos with guys behind desks not teaching us what we really need to know in the field. No 3d printer yet, but it's not an issue atm. I've got so many other things planned that I don't have time to more to my plate. It's much appreciated though.
Thanks for this and all the other excellent videos you have produced. I am looking forwards to the rest of the series.Geoff
+geoffgr88 These kind of comments a help Psk me through the next 20 hours of testing, recording, editing, and commenting :)
Sending this to all my peeps here in the states...thanks. Your insight is the best. You're highly respected in my book..
+lloyd mitchell thanks Lloyd, much appreciated. I've got to polish the rough edges, but I'll get there. 73 de Julian OH8STN
