    With the unexpected life changes that came my way the last year or two I’m thankful I held off on getting the challenger, not that it’s not a GREAT bike. This new Chief would fit my riding style wayyyyyy better. Small enough to run around town yet also capable of long road trips (with frugal packing and planning of course)

    • @TheBeardedBobber
      @TheBeardedBobber  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ya it’s a great middle ground for sure. All around bike that is great for everyday

  • @jasonadams1875

    I’m a 6,2 rider and the chief 111 felt the same size as the scout rogue 60- I bought the rogue 60 a few months ago- I have a stage 1 tune with the Indian performance intake and remapping with RCX slip ons ( your video on that helped with decision). Added some cool joker parts and shifted the mini apes forward. It fits better than the chief and it honestly hauls ass now as the tune also grabbed me a bit more rev limit- the 60 is well known to be factory de-tuned but it is really customizable and feels pretty solid and quick on San Diego’s mega freeways.
    I don’t think I would change my bike out given a choice because I like the whippy nature and the weight compared to the Chief- I guess opinions will always differ but I would recommend the scout standard or the 60 for someone looking for the everyday bike that just makes you grin while riding it/ also love turning around to look at after parking-

    Easy decision for me. Scout all day long ... but I'm a more performance-oriented rider so that's why my decision weighs heavily to the Scout

      Man I get so defensive when people say the scout isn’t as fast lol it cracks me up to cause I’ll bet on the scout all day! Ya I love the scout bobber so much and it’s high reving motor.

      @@TheBeardedBobber Haha - yeah, the scout is actually faster - EVEN - when you do upgrades on the Chief. I did the power-to-weight ratio math a while back and upgrade to upgrade for performance the scout always ultimately came out on top. I've always thought Indian missed the mark with the Chief because of that 4.0 gallon gas tank ... one more gallon and it could have swayed me :)

    That's why I picked the Chief 111: no stupid finicky touchscreen, sexy looking air-cooled engine blacked out with chrome/polished accents, and all the niceties - cruise control, more fuel, fuel gauge, and more weight. I have punched everything touchscreen that I've ever owned. I have never felt the urge to punch analog devices 😀

  • @dixsdoks

    Just happen to come across this video now. But. 2 of the 3 things that you want for your bobber are now available. They do have a cruise control kit for it. Not the biggest fan of how the control sit but hey if you need cruise control. And a company I came across on fb hemisphere performance has made a fuel gauge kit for the scout. All we got left is to come up with a way to fit the ride command lol.

    Very good video. The most important difference for me, living in the tropics of S. Fla, is the rear cylinder deactivation that the Chief offers, but not the Scout. Why not, is my question. They have it on the Challenger, so it can be done to a liquid cooled bike.

    • @TheBeardedBobber
      @TheBeardedBobber  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually don’t feel much heat off my bike even going through 118 weather the bike did great. The thunder stroke being a bigger cc and air cooled brings more heat I think so I don’t know if they’ll actually add it to the scout. It’s not something that has affected me.
