How to Get from Rome Airport (FCO) to Civitavecchia (Cruise Ship Port) under 20€ Cheap & Easy

- How to Travel from Rome Leonardo da Vinci Airport FCO to Civitavecchia (Cruise Ship Port) Italy by using the cheapest and most convenient Transporation (Train) which is connected by the airport easy to access and tickets are only 12 euro per person for both trains.
The first train takes you from the airport to Trastevere station and from there get on the 2nd train takes you to your destination (the Port of Civitavecchia)
Total time estimated on both trains is less than an hour.
Once you get there exit the train station and take TAXI for 8€ aper person or you can walk for about 15 min.

I suppose the time of day will also determine which train station to Civitavecchi. I believe there are several train stations that could be the actual transfer point. Also, it would be nice considering your 15 minute remark on taking the elevators to get to the correct platform and how you did that. That is, where are the elevators if not obvious and how did you find the information for the correct platform for Civitavecchia? It would seem this is rather crucial information if you have a close connection.
True the time and day might be different as you mentioned. I read the signs and talked to people as well to help me get where I need to be. That’s always a key factor when traveling to other countries. Safe travels

The bus drivers where standing out of the train station waiting for people to come out to take them to the port, should be easy don’t worry, and you pay cash (make sure you have some euro 💶 on hand). Safe travels

You said once you get there to take the taxi or walk, you are talking about getting to the port correct? And if so, you took the shuttle correct? So the other options are taxi or walking to the port?
Correct, after you get to the port area in the train then you either take bus, shuttle or walk to the ship and yes we took small bus/ shuttle if you will.
So there are couple of options of train's ticket to Civitavecchia ( from Trenitalia's website ) , is it to Civitavecchia port ? Civitavecchia ? Civitavecchia (all stations) ? Which one should I choose if I want to board my cruise ?
I’m not sure, i didn’t book through the website, i got the tickets from the window/ office over by the train station right out of the airport. I told them i want to go the ship port and they gave me tickets 🎟️

The ship name was Odyssey of the seas and i took it from Chicago Ohare to Rome

Thanks for sharing this! I'm going in a few weeks and its so nice to see a visual! Just a few questions, did you buy your tickets in advance? Is there a direct train or do you need to transfer? Is it 1 ticket or 2 if you have to transfer? How many hours from the time you landed until you got to cruise port? Thanks!
I bought the tickets right there by the train station right off of the airport. They are 2 trains and no direct one that I’m aware of. They give you one ticket that has both trains ticket on so you pay one time and they give you the ticket for both trains to get to your destination and nobody checked the tickets at either station honestly.
I would get there as early as possible to be by the port at the right time. Being there early doesn’t hurt but i would say about 1-2 hours estimate.

I’m taking a cruise in October from Civitavecchia. How much was the bus and where did you catch it from at the train station?
The bus is right off of the train station once we walk out of it there is gonna be buses and taxis lined up, the cost was 8 euros a person.

Well for me it was the first time and trying to figure out so it took me longer. I would say about an hour roughly.

There is buses and Taxi that take you from the ship to the train station. See my other video as a reference on the disembarking process. Thank you

I took that one train out of the airport (connected) and it was pretty fast. Not aware of any other trains in that area.

That was the ticket for both trains correct but one way only.
How long is the train ride?
About half hour to 45 minutes

And where did you take the last bus that you mentioned? Was it the free Portlink bus?
No trouble on the train at all. Everybody had 3 and 4 baggage with them,No questions asked. The last bus was right out of the train station as they are all lined up and ready to take you right to the ship. The bus was not free.
