- This Pedalboard Box is completely customized for Musicians and hand made and the huge amount of material fusion, mechanical engineering and product aluminum design planning dated months and months prior to the creation of it. It is a treasure to contain all your precious guitar pedals gear and pedalboard, and it is a conversation starter to bring around. These methods were derived from my many other projects dealing with extruded aluminum, aluminum cabinets, aluminum paneling methods, and playing with aluminum extrusions. The requirement was to arrive at a rather industrial design.
The planning stage of this project had been that demanding, that the free version of sketchup was not enough and in order to draw it well, I needed to learn another 3d modeling software / CAD software, which led me to the paid version of Shapr3D. No regrets so far. It has been 2 annual subscription ever since. I did consider carefully on Autodesk Fusion 360, but that will be for another day.
"Material Fusion" took place again, combining multiple materials to model and create this Guitar Pedalboard Box. Aluminum extrusion, 3d printed parts, acrylic panels, castors, handles, gas struts, logo plates, etc were just some of the materials used. While watching the video, you will also learn how to join aluminum extrusion in many different creative ways.
Precision and Creativity were all over the project and attention to details were required at every single stage. Throughout the video, assembly sequencing were demonstrated and you will see that it cannot be a straightforward assembly sequence, due to the paneling, logo placement, magnetic covers, and etc.
Many key details and explanation were left out to keep the video short enough for a youtube video. This is madness. The level of attention on the small details is out of this world. I can tell your model is 100%. All the predrilled holes and pre-cut holes on the acrylic panels are very well planned. It’s so satisfying to see the build come together over the 20min+ video. 1 question tho, why is your logo pasted upside down? Is it so that when it’s open it’s right-side up? Like in 24:55 ?
