  • Watch me try to recreate the balloon dog Khloe Kardashian was art-shamed for by Kris Jenner, except mine is made out of clay and spray paint. The original balloon dog sculpture was made by the famous artist, Jeff Koons. This was a project that turned out really well but really tested my patience. Have any tips for working with clay? If so share em below because I'd like to learn!
    Materials
    - Air dry clay that cost around $10 at Michaels (with their 50% off coupon)
    - paper clips
    - e6000 glue
    - water
    - gold paint brush
    - spray paint

you can do this an easier and less messy way. Take aluminum foil and create the shapes by balling it up and connecting each with toothpicks... then use Polymer Baking clay to "coat" the outside.. basically use a rolling pin to make the clay thin and drape over and use a heat gun to soften the fingerprints out. Then bake and paint.

Darling I know how you feel about the Clay! I have just been experiencing it myself! That’s stuff kicked my behind! Of course like you I started with a very difficult project. My first thing, that I took lessons on making, a turtle was great! But all downhill from there and it’s so messy! But I love every minute of it too and I have to make the ballon dog!! I am 74 and I love and live Big BoHo. I subscribed I love your videos! thank you 😊

Hi- just wondering what kind of clay you used and how long it took for your sculpture to dry? Thanks!

I’m guessing he uses resin for final pieces. I‘ve only just heard of this guy, so my guess is based on my interest in sculpting and casting and that it’s almost unheard of that any large sculptures are made out of clay! I always wanted to cast some bronze resin sculptures, but working with plasticine means I never stop fiddling with a design and never feel its ready to make a mould and not having an interest in making them to sell, makes it a pretty expensive hobby too lol! Just a shame that attitude will make it impossible to fulfill my dream of making a full size bronze statue of my pony......thankfully I have a plan to make her into a rocking horse and use her mane and tail on it, which is a much better idea and much more portable than a 14hh bronze statue if I ever moved house lol!
