      Kobe The Vizsla she was only 6 years old, but those 6 years helped me go through tough times and those years were the best. We are hopefully going to get one in January but I now live in Amsterdam and the demand is soooo high! Keep up the great videos man

      Oh wow so young. Its definitely sad when they die so young. Yes here as well vizslas are so hard to get. It took me a while to find a breeder that had a litter. Good luck finding a new new one, they are such a beautiful loving breed.

    I could leave my V home alone for 4 hours at around 6 months and we quickly moved to crate with open door, then no crate and bed alone. I think around 9 months I could leave for full work day. A quick walk in the morning (20-30 minutes) helps immensely, then another in the evening for longer and you won't have any problems, V's are awesome dogs!

    • @kobethevizsla157

    • @kobethevizsla157
      @kobethevizsla157  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to start with leaving him alone in small amount of time and then increase the time. Also take him for lone walk or run, preferably run before leaving him alone.

      Kobe The Vizsla - we have been looking into Vizsla puppies and trying to read up a lot about them. Hoping to get a puppy next year and hence has a lot of time to prepare. You mentioned that you are training for Kobe to stay alone as a preparation when you both start working away from home. What are the special considerations you are thinking of? Are vizslas really welcro dogs and cannot work for people who works long hours?

    Kobe is amazing! I really hope to get a hungarian vizsla very soon, and i was wondering how big is the crate? And did it take long to crate train him so he is not whining throughout the night? I just found your channel so i will be watching all your vids, super interesting :)

    • @kobethevizsla157
      @kobethevizsla157  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you so much for watching my videos. appreciate it. the crate i have is the 42" one, which is still good for kobe but if he keeps growing I'm going to have to buy the next size up, lol. As far as training him to stay in crate consistency is key. i would put him in the carte every chance i got especially when he fell asleep in the couch or anywhere else that was not the crate i would put him in there. now he sleeps the whole night in his crate with no problem, but for a little while he was sleeping in the couch, lol. you feel bad sometimes when they start whining but they learn fast just have to be stronger then them. 😁

      My wife is still home with the kids doing home school because of covid. We do go out and leave him home alone here and there for two hours at a time. Still haven't had to leave him the whole day alone.

  • @chipaway
    @chipaway 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    now that he's bigger, are you letting him roam the house without the gate sectioning off where he sleeps and stuff?

    • @kobethevizsla157
      @kobethevizsla157  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes when kobe was fully potty trained i let him roam around the house but with a close eye on him at all times. Now he behaves so well that he doesn't require an eye on him at all times.. Kobe sleeps between his bed and the couch lol. Since I trust he doesn't do anything at night I don't leave him in crate at night. At 5 months he behaves very well.

      @@kobethevizsla157 good to know. i am adopting one up next month so i am especially curious and have to get things set up in the apartment. i do have a yard though which will help a bit i imagine but i am sure he will be a handful the first couple of months!

    • @kobethevizsla157
      @kobethevizsla157  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's great to hear. How old is the one you are adopting? Is it a puppy of a full grown Vizsla? Yard is huge for Vizslas they need lot of room to run. My yard not that big i take my V to park almost everyday.

    • @chipaway
      @chipaway 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kobethevizsla157 he will be a couple of months old, so a little puppy. my yard isn't that big. maybe 250sq meters/yards and it's fenced, but i live in a small town in italy in the mountains, so basically every place around here is a park and woods out my doorstep really. i gave up the city life years ago. plus, i am working from home until the whole covid situation passes so i will keep him busy.

    • @kobethevizsla157
      @kobethevizsla157  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats great then when you live in a place like that who needs a yard lol. Potty training can be the most difficult at first but if you stay consistent should take two weeks or less. Good luck with your new puppy. 😁

    • @kobethevizsla157
      @kobethevizsla157  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you.. They are never to old to run. Its a matter of how long you exercise them for. Kobe is 5 months now and I run him for a bout 20 25 minutes. As they get older they require more time of course a fully grown vizsla needs 1-2 hours a day of running exercise.ive read that a good rule of thumb is 5 minutes for each month of age the dog puppy is.

    Hey! We finally have our puppy home! I wanted to ask how you got on with the crate training? Our little one HATES it and he cries and cries, even howls! Its only been 5 days, but I wondered how Kobe got on at night?

    • @kobethevizsla157
      @kobethevizsla157  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Congratulations thats great news. It definitely is tough at first. Persistent is key. We put him in the crate as much as we can. When he would fall asleep on the couch or on us we would put him in the crate every time. I would also give him his food in the crate by hand rewarding him for going inside the crate. And treats for going in his crate. Everyday until he sleeps in it. As first he was not sleeping in his crate he would sleep in the couch or on his bed on floor but now he sleeps in the crate with door closed. But try to revolve most of your time with him around the crate as much as you can until he sees it as his safe place. Good luck and thanks again for your support. One big tip is never put him on crate when he does something wrong that can make it a place he never wants to go.
