Also, what book would you recommend for Physiology? Thanks.

Hi there, just wondering if you think this version is better than Betsy Shiland's Medical Terminology & Anatomy for ICD-10 Coding? The course I'm in does cover ICD-Coding at some point, I'm in an Anatomy and a Med Term class right now, but the material for these classes are all etextbooks and I would like a paper copy while I go thru the course, just as you said- I like the idea of saving some $ to get more than just a medical terminology book. I looked up this book to purchase and saw the other. So I thought before I buy, I should make sure.. thank you for your videos! They have been VERY helpful!
Thank you for your videos I’m a struggling student who finds studying very difficult. Would you recommend version 4 of the medical terminology and anatomy for coding over 3 now as some years has gone by?
Hi Susie, I ran across your comment and it’s exactly what I am wondering. Should I buy the 3rd or 4th generation book ? I’m just now starting this course. Did you buy any ?
Thank you for all the great info you share with us! I am looking into Medical Coding and possibly Billing as well. I have a question, do you have to be certified in these courses to take the CPC test on AAPC?
There are no hard requirements of any kind to take the CPC exam other than to pay the exam fee. But of course you might not do so well if you don't study. :)
Is there much difference between the third and fourth edition of the book Medical terminology for Coding? even the 3rd edition is expensive second hand. 😢
I am looking to enroll in the Medical Coding course thru the AAPC, but I'm hesitant because people are saying that once they graduate, they can't get employed because of the Catch 22 of the required '2 years on the job training'. The counselor said that is why they came up with: "Practicode CPC-A Practicum (This coding practice tool helps to improve coding skills across multiple specialties, allows a new coder to gain coding experience, and removes the A designation of the CPC credential.)" ~ Do you feel that this is a good work-around?
This may be off subject but I dont know anywhere else I can get an answer, even google don’t know. I’m studying medical terminology with the AAPC course, as I go through, I find there are sometimes 2+ words or meanings for a certain word, how do you know which one to use & when? IE: nucle/o or kary/o, both mean nucleus. Please help!
Good afternoon Victoria, I just purchased the books you state it’s the best. Now, I’m interested on the free courses you talked about in your video. I am very interested in becoming a medical billing and coder. Can you please get back to me? Thank you so much.
Hi I was on the AAPC website and there is a pre-requisite to take their terminology and anatomy course. So can I just avoid taking the prerequisite course and just learn the terminology by myself, as you suggested. Or if I still enroll in the CPC course can I study terminology simultaneously with the books that you suggested.
Hi Victoria, regarding the medical terminology and anatomy or coding book you recommended, there is a 3rd edition and 4th edition. Is one better than the other? Which would you recommend? Thanks so much for all of your wonderful advice.
Hi! Would you say the book you recommended is more useful than the ebook they provided from the course at AAPC ? I’m struggling with that e book and feel like I’m not getting much information needed . Thanks !
Thank you for this. Can you do a video about how HIPAA applies to a coder with some scenarios? I just started a course and I'm having trouble picturing the coder's involvement and what a coder should be aware of with how they handle medical records and communicate with medical staff. There's a compliance and regulation section but the examples seem to be with nurses, doctors, front desk but not coders.

Hi there! I am 44 and heading back to college for a certificate in medical billing/coding. I have 15+ years in various healthcare positions. Hello, Victoria, is pathophysiology also a prerequisite for the CPC course, together with medical terminology and A&P? Are there questions of pathophysiology in the test? Thanks!
What they call "prerequisites" are just recommendations that will make the course easier to understand. It's not a college, you can take the CPC prep without having to purchase their official courses or anyone's official courses. You can find out more at the AAPC website. www.aapc.com/training/cpc-exam-preparation.aspx
Hello, Ma'am I hope you are doing well, I have been running a medical billing company like all revenue circle and I need a referral from doctors because due to covid my medical billing is down so far, would you please provide me with work or referrals, I really appreciate it. Thank you.

4th is more updated, but it is slightly more expensive than the 3rd edition.
@@ContempoCoding okay. Thank you!
Maybe you have one already I couldn't find.
you rock!! ordered the book. testing in 46 days.
In scale of 1-10 how important to learn medical terminology?
I just recently subscribed to your channel and inspired me to pursue Medical Coding career. What do you think about taking the courses from AMCI? Thanks
Thanks for reaching out. As you can imagine, I get many requests for advice for medical coding schools, and you will find all the answers you need by signing up for my masterclass!

Hi there! I am 44 and heading back to college for a certificate in medical billing/coding. I have 15+ years in various healthcare positions. The school I'll be attending does not require a book for their medical terminology course and it uses the Pearsons Anatomy & Physiology book for their Anatomy & Physiology course. Do you think I would benefit from the Shiland book as well? It's expensive so I want to be sure before I invest! Thank you!
Why don't you wait and see if you like the Pearson book and then if it's not working for you, invest in the other one.
Can you please make a video on how this job is for Pharmacist?
Thanks
I'm sorry, are you asking how a pharmacist can get into medical coding or how medical coding applies to pharmacy?
@@ContempoCoding Thanks for your response.
Yeah I am asking how a Pharmacist can get into medical coding...where can he learn all these skills, ..kindly do guide I am new here.........and also.....
will it be a suitable job for him because he has the advantage of knowing all medical terminology very well?
One request please make a step-wise videos for beginner in a seperate playlist....your videos are so great, informative ,hope to see more good content on this channel..
Thanks a lot,
I ordered the 4th edition of the Medical Terminology & Anatomy for coding book but I haven't received it yet. Do you think I still need to order a medical dictionary as well or should that book be sufficient?
Good day sister, can you do video on medical coder internship program?
I'll see what I can do, but they are hard to come by and I don't know of any personally or how to find them other than Project Xtern with the AAPC.
Thanks!
great videos, how come a&p & medical term isn't taught by an instructor? For those of us who are willing to pay for that? Why self study for that portion?
You can take it by an instructor if you want. Your local colleges and technical schools will offer courses.
I love Hank!
I have the 2022 version of that Medical Terminology and Anatomy book. It's for sale if anyone's interested! (I gave up on coding.)
I took terminology and anatomy....it was not enough, I think it needs to be much more in-depth then what I took in college.
Thank you so much!
Thank you

Thanks for the video. After serving 20+ years in the military and retired a year ago. I obtain a medical coding certificate serving. I would like to begin an another career in coding. I am a very hard worker and would like for you to be mentor/coach to help me with this process. I would like to open my own coding company in 2022. Thanks
Thanks
No problem
My highest score of my cpc was med terms but anatomy was my lowest
Hey i have a medical backgroud . and i have experience of 2 years..can you help me get an interview in your company ?
I work independently and don't hire coders, sorry.
Some captions would help a lot
Hi there! I just checked and verified that the auto captions from TH-cam are set on this video.
Hello, Ma'am
I hope you are doing well,
I have been running a medical billing company like all revenue circle and I need a referral from doctors because due to covid my medical billing is down so far, would you please provide me with work or referrals, I really appreciate it.
Thank you.
You talk too fast for those of us in the south. Although what i can understand seems to be really helpful. TY
You can use the settings in TH-cam to slow down the video.
@@ContempoCoding THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I never realized that existed. .75 has the perfect southern draw my ears need.
Any info on medical billing
You can use the same resources as a biller.
Well, I like books, but I think for a truly THOROUGH knowledge of medical "terminology" a male model would just really drive it home for me. Yeah.
Haaa!
