I bought a T casual ticket at Barcelona airport last Nov for 10.35€. It included the RN2 train from terminal 2 to Passeig de Gracia with free transfer to the Metro to Liceu Metro station on Las Ramblas. Got to my hotel for 1.13€! So easy and such a bargain. Thanks!
Hi there, after you have bought your T-casual ticket, how do you use it on public transport? Is there a machine that you have to scan it on, on every bus/metro/train? Do you need to scan/tag off?
I'm in Barcelona now. Downloaded the T-Mobilitat app, entered my Passport info (US) and still today waiting for authorization on my phone. If anyone is doing it that way, know that it isn't fast at all. I can only assume they are doing a through check (but it is Spain lol) which I appreciate, but the video poster here said you can try to upload your passport details into a public machine in the subway. Being from the US, that doesn't sit with me even if it is safe, so I'll wait another day. If not then, I'll buy a 10 day pass at the machine with Euros since that would cover the rest of my time here.
Thanks! I'm traveling with a group of 5 people, we're only in Barcelona for 36-hours. We are thinking of doing the T-Familiar ticket, if we use it to leave the Airport and go to El Clot Arago station, does that count as 1 of the 8 trips? Or because there's 5 of us does it count for 5?
Need to buy a T Usual card. You mention needing to go to 'an office.'??? Thought I can enter my passport number at the machine and to the entire purchase at the machine. What did you mean by needing to go to an OFFICE?
Thank you for the video Patrick! Great information! Would you be able to tell me if I would be able to buy the T-usual card on the spot if we are foreigners (EU Member state) and want to visit Barcelona for a week? thanks in advance!
Hello, whats the difference between T-usual card and Hola Barcelona travel card ? beside prices, T-usual is for 30 days consecutive travels and other may be more expensive and is just for 3 days....Thanks, I need a card from Airport for 5 days, so I guess T-usual is the convenient one...

I land in Barcelona, but the first city I will stay in is Madrid. So I need to go to Madrid from Barcelona airport. Which option would you recommend to someone who is thinking of traveling to Madrid for 3 days and then to Barcelona for 3 days? thanks.
Great question. The order of your trip won’t matter. You can just buy whichever card you want for the three days upon your return to Barcelona. Any machine in any metro station will allow for it. Or you can schedule to pick up one of the other cards like the Barcelona card from a quiosk in plaça Catalunya when you return

All good here! All of the information is in this video where it breaks down the different cards. Make sure to watch that part! Hi patrick! great video, the only thing i am missing is the ID process for the t-usual card. I am trying to make an acount on tmb, but it says the id number is invalid. I am from the netherlands. I am going next week to barna and trying to get everything ready. I can ofcourse wait to buy this when i am at the airport, but i want to be prepared.
Hi I am getting the metro from the airport in to the city and will use the metro to get from place to place for 3 days. Should I buy a single fare ticket for the trip from the airport to the city and then a T Casual for my stay or should I buy a T Usual to cover it all? It's a bit confusing! 😅 If I get the T Casual- I've paid for 10 journeys and if I get the T Usual I've paid for unlimited journeys within 30 days is that right? I really don't think I'll be using it more than 10 times.
Hi I’m so confused, can i just go to the ticket machine and buy t-usual and just use it? I don’t understand do i have to register on the website of tmb like why? Cant i just buy it and use it

Great video thanks. Was going to get the Hola Barcelona card but actually 4 x T-Casual is cheaper as we dont need airport travel and likely to not use even the full 10. They are still paper from the machine right? But are the paper ones still touch to activate rather than put in the machine?
Hi Patrick! Just a bit confused. In order to get from Saint Antoni to Sagrada Familia, I need to use a Metro, 3 stops with L3 and then 5 stops with L2. Does it mean I am using 2 zones here? Do I need to buy T Casual for 10 rides for 2 zones then?
Just trying to sort this out in my head. Family of 6. Staying in Montmelo. If we were to do sagrada familia then park guell then back to Montmelo, this would be considered 3 rides per person for the day (totaling 18 rides)? So T-familiar would already be a no go for us? I’m assuming T-grup would be our better option since there are 70 rides? We have found your videos very helpful in many ways. Thank you!
Hi hope you’re doing great. I live in zone 2 and i want to travel to Barcelona. If i bought a t-usual zone 2 ticket does that mean i can travel both 1-2 or just 2?

I'm just asking because I'm comparing the value of tickets and this suits best for us. Thank you for your reply. Peter, BTW your videos are very useful.
Thanks Peter, yes you can still by a T Casual. It’s the best option for unlimited rides during your stay if you are just planning on using public transportation a lot
Hey! That’s a great question and why I made both this video and the best metro card video so that you could decide the best use for your trip. It depends what you want to do

Is it possible to get a T-usual card without online registration only from a machine? Can even an 11-year-old child buy it? T-casual is not convenient for me. It is not valid from the airport to L2 and is only valid for 10 rides.
Yes to both! If the T-usual isn't great for your trip don't get it. You can by the T-usual from a machine when you arrive, you just need to provide an ID number.
Your videos have been very helpful for my upcoming trip. We will only be in Barcelona for 3 days and planned to get the T-Familiar card for the 8 trips shared. From my understanding it is a standard cost for the card and now it has contactless. When using do you just tap and then go through, and then pass it back and the second person tap and go through?

@@PatrickGuideBarcelona Thanks, I only used it once recently (with help from your video on leaving the airport) and mistakenly thought the entire system was the metro.
Patrick, great videos man. Super helpful. I have a couple questions: (1) Do you tap your card when you enter the metro AND when you leave? or just on the way in? (2) If you've got a T-Casual card and you're transfering within the 75 minute window, do you tap a second time on the second ride or would that charge you twice?
Thank you! Within zone one you do not need to tap the card to leave in most cases. The 75 minute transfer depends on the type of transportation. If you switch from metro to bus (for example) you need to tap again, but provided you’re in the transfer window it won’t count as another trip. I’m metros you don’t need to leave to change lines.
I will stay in sadabell hotel which is in zone 2 so I will buy t-usual for 2 zones. Besides being able to travel between Barcelona and sadabell, can I use it between zone 2 and zone 3 towns or between zone 4 and 5 alone which are also within 2 zone. BTW, your chart for different type of cards are great and self explanatory.
What the hell, you need to visit a ticket machine? Why oh why! Why not just use a contactless bank card. Something that should be so simple has been made so complicated and a waste of time queuing for machines. To add insult you need a bank cards at the machine. Who carries a card, its all gone mobile.
You can by tickets witha contactless crdit card on buses and more metro stops are allowing it was well, but buying a card is much better to have cheaper prices. You en up saving a lot.
I agree with that. Seem like then went to a lot of effort for not much gain. Here in Sydney, they have an 'Opal' card (which you an still use) but nowadays, most people just use a credit card, like Visa, Mastercard etc. and on their phone. All you do is just walk up to the gate an tap your phone - done. The fair is calculated when you tap off and then billed to your card... Nobody here in Sydney buys tickets anymore thats long gone!
🎉🎉Update: The T-Mobilitat is now available on both Android and iOS!

Hopefully they will adopt pay as you go soon it’s such an inconvenience using a third party plastic card when most cities around Europe have done it already
You can use your card directly on buses and some turnstyles. But with the price of a single ticket, I don’t think it’s worth it
@@PatrickGuideBarcelonathey should follow London on that one where by using your contactless card or mobile method of payment (Apple Pay or Google Pay) it’s like an Oyster card
you forgot T-jove, wich is the one I use
I can’t use that one anymore 😂
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona I used to use t-usual until t-jove passed to 30, but I will use it until 23rd of November 2025 which is when I will be 30. or maybe in 2026 I can use it until 23rd of November when I will be 31
I have the t-usual of 2 zones in my mobile phone but it's out of date so when I turn 30 or 31 I can use it again
@LlorencBalsach take advantage while you can but it is not really a card that visitors use
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona I use it because I live in Sabadell and to go to Barcelona it's 2 zones. and I can also go anywhere I want because it has 6 zones.
What do you mean “75minute transfer window”?
If you get off the metro you switch to the bus on the same ride within 75 minutes for example
@@PatrickGuideBarcelonabut does it matter if you have T-usual , cuz there you have unlimited trips?
@@malachitelizard7272 No, it does not matter
75 min I think just marketing
They extended the warranty period for the paper cards up to two years.
Great news!
It is available on iOS now.
That’s great news!
That’s great news!
I can get the hola card for the days of my stay but does not include the Aerobus, but I can always use the metro included in the Hola Card? Correct?
Corrext
Hi Patrick, I just wanted to know if Nitbus are included in the T-usual card?
Do I understand you correctly that the T-Casual will no longer be usable to and from the airport on R2 Nord?
You will still be able to take the R2, metro rides are not included to the airport
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona Thanks, I only used it once recently (with help from your video on leaving the airport) and mistakenly thought the entire system was the metro.
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona Hi, Patrick! The same goes for a T-familiar card, right?
Thank you, I believe so. If you start in a different zone you can travel between two, yes
the paper card is rechargeable
GOD BLESS
