Great tips stella as always! I also try to pack in a carry on only if my trip is short to avoid losing luggage or checking in, especially if I may end up late. I also like to pack valuable or must needed items in my carry on and not in my check in luggage in case its lost. After check in I like to buy my own food, snacks and a magazine or two to bring on the plane to make sure I eat well, airplaine food isn't the best at all, lol. ONe last one, I keep my I.D., boarding pass, money in an accessible part of my purse (usually a crossbody) so I can get to it and not lose it.
Stella you have an Amex Platinum you don’t need to pay for lounges that charge card comes with Delta Skyclub lounge access when flying Delta. Priority Pass and Centurion® Lounge with any airline and it also allows 2 guests at no charge. It’s like $30-50 for a day pass to lounges these days.
You must be my sister, lol!! My Mom does the same!! But instead of going to the bookstore, I tell Mom I’m going to the bookstore and go to the bar, LOL!!!
If it’s possible eat before you go to the airport! All of the restaurants are crazy expensive. Save your money and pick up something on the way or eat before you go.
You can eat at the airport. Just bring your own food. It's allowed to bring that true security, but remember to not bring any liquids including creams and jams (like those jars with jam and also peanut butter, etc.) or similar above 100ml. That is really good because you can eat it when you are hungry and don't need to bring food. This is especially handy if you have a long flight or long time in between flights.
Personally I don’t like bringing food to the airport unless it’s a trail mix or a granola bar. If I get something hot from a restaurant and leave it in my purse it will get cold by the time I get through security and find my gate. It’s all a suggestion.
@@jamiebaker1209 Nowadays, since most airlines do not feed you, besides a snack and drinks, then I like to take food to eat on the flight. I fly long flights no matter where I go out of Hawaii. haha. The only exception is, international flights usually have a meal included in your flight.
@@KieranTong Most of my flights are 6+ hours. I don't fly with any airlines that don't include food with the ticket. I'm not organizing this stuff. I have enough things to remember on trips.
@@runningfromabear8354 It was my understanding that most airlines do not feed customers meals (as part of the ticket price) on domestic flights, besides snacks. You usually have to buy meals. Are you saying you fly mostly international flights (since they include a meal in the ticket price)? I can fly for 11-13 hours and still be within the united states. Or I can fly 11 hours and fly internationally. One flight doesn't include meals, and the other includes meals.
1. get there early (2 hours at least) 0:32 2. take a car (uber, lyft, etc.) 1:10 3. check your bags curb side 2:01 4. use the restroom outside of security 2:58 5. bring an empty water bottle 3:46 6. be ready for security 4:31 7. sit at a nearby gate 5:31 8. set alarm for boarding 6:45 9. read at the newsstands 8:03 10. pay for lounges (if you have extra time) 8:51
11. If you see a gate showing your destination, DON'T take it for granted that it is also your flight. Sometimes there may be three or four departures within half an hour, all by different companies. Check your boarding card to see what flightnumber goes with your ticket. If you are at the wrong gate, you might not hear your flight calling you for departure, and you will miss the flight. You will probably not be permitted to board through the gate you are waiting at. And you will be very angry. 11 b. And, as Debra Adams says in the comments, check your gate several times. Sometimes they will change the gates, without even calling it out.
My "solution" is arranging for friend or family to get me there and come to give me a ride home. Naturally that works where I live. My solution AWAY from there is a shuttle when available. I checked into Holiday Inn near JFK because "shuttle" was offered with the amenities.
Tip 11 get the airline app if available and any gate changes or boarding times will alert you right on your phone.screen. Makes things a lot more relaxing.
@@janetbousho7625 thank goodness for online check-in. I was waiting to board once and a sweet older lady asked me if I had my boarding papers (she was worried that I had lost it and just hadn't realized it). I showed her the screen on my phone and she was wowwed that I didn't have it on "paper". She said something to the effect of having to get her grandchild to get her "one of those" ❤️
Hi Stella! I am a gate agent for the same airline as you. I like your tips but just want to add Don’t be late (I agree with you). Passengers who get to the gate too late for their flight have to go STANDBY on the next flight to their destination (sometimes standby on connecting flights! 🥺 If they want to be confirmed, it does have a charge, but flights are usually full as you well know. Be aware that TSA lines can sometimes take hourS. It is much better to be inside security early and waiting a while than to be stressing about missing your flight. Please consider checking your carry-on bag at the gate for free when the offer is made. If you already have a paid-for bag checked, your carry-on will also go to baggage claim, but without more charges. Once we run out of overhead bin space, we have to check all rolling bags and large duffel bags. Period. This almost always means group 9. Gate agents love people who check their bags voluntarily. Do not stuff your carry-on too full. If it fails to EASILY fit into the sizer frame, it MUST be checked. I have seen multiple flights delayed due to BROKEN BINS where people tried to force their carry-on into the bin then tried to force the bin closed. Opt in for notifications on your phone about your flight. Our airline now texts passengers when BOARDING BEGINS!! Yes! And this one tip will save many people a lot of stress trying to find connecting gate info: on any smart phone’s browser, type in the airline code and the flight number to see the departure terminal and gate, arrival terminal and gate (up to the MINUTE!). This also gives you any delay information. Hope to see you coming thru CLT sometime! Safe travels! ✈️ Diane
Love all of these hints!! On the way home-I volunteer to gate check my carryon right away. Trip out I usually hang on to it just in case. Have had too many times where my luggage was a day or 2 behind me. Need the meds and some essentials with me😉
My tips.... Always wear leggings, they are comfortable and you don't want your pants legs bottoms touching the bathroom floors. When packing, use packing cubes this saves time going thru TSA and you can eliminate a bag. Have your ID/PASSPORT in an easy access area oh as well as your boarding pass. Upload your boarding pass to your phone.
Peapodster personally I keep mine in my shirt pocket. Easy to get at and it's very reassuring feeling the weight and seeing the telltale bulge letting you know that it hasn't disappeared on you
@@peapodster9220 for a card size Id. Either in a wallet or in your phone case. For passports I would normally put it in a easy reach pocket of what I'm wearing (Hoodie or pants) or I will put it in a smaller pocket of my backpack.
I wanted to thank you. I posted on the "10 flight attendant training tips" video that I was leaving for training and am excited to report that I got my wings! 💙🛫

6:44 A note on boarding times: the time of your flight is the time the plane takes off into the air and departs the airport. That is the DEPARTURE time. On your boarding pass it will tell you that your flight will be boarding (for example) 30 minutes before the departure. So if your flight departs at 9:45pm then the boarding time is 9:15pm. The boarding time is the time used for the “boarding process” aka when people physically board the plane with their carry ons using their boarding passes at the gate. Please do not confuse boarding time with DEPARTURE time if you are planning to use her tip to set an alarm for BOARDING time. A lot of people I know who don’t fly often love to use tip #1 to the get to the airport super early but then they walk around, eat, or just lose track of time. All they think about is the departure time and forget completely about the boarding process. Then they have to run to their gate trying not to miss their flight before the plane doors close and the plane flies away without them. If you’re a first time flyer or someone who’s flying for the first time by yourself then please remember this. The time on your ticket is when the plane flies away. You have to remember to give yourself time to line up at the gate, board the plane, settle into your seat on the plane -All before the plane ever departs. Lastly, this is also important because before you board: the gate might change. You have to keep up to date with wherever they need you to go so give yourself time to accommodate any last minute changes.
I travel a lot for work and a lot of these tips are fairly obvious but setting an alarm for boarding is genius and I can't believe I hadn't thought of it. Stella, your personality is great and you seem like someone I would love as a friend let alone an awesome flight attendant!
I've done that! Got there as the flight before mine was checking in and went to the customer service desk to enquire about it, very politely (there is zero reason to ever be rude, after all - you're more likely to get treated well if you treat others well) and the lady checked the computer and put me on the earlier flight so I could check in immediately!
Same. I had a long connection in Chicago to London and so I approached the gate and asked if there was space for me. I didn’t have any checked bags and they just let me in.
Great video, thank you Stella! Mine are 1. carry a portable cell phone charger, an empty water bottle, eat before I arrive but no large, heavy meals keep it light and nutritious, 2. download the airport/airline app is a MUST, 3. wear leggings & sneakers instead of dresses & sandals for "mobility", 4. ask flight attendant to fill your bottle with ice instead of water which helps cut down trips to bathrooms on and off the plane, 5. bringing a GOOD book to get lost in is a MUST (this helps with the butterflies I get in my stomach when flying), 6. pin my hair up 7. courtesy to airline staff & passengers is a MUST
I agree 110% with reaching there early....that is like half the battle right there. That is like a weight off my shoulders. After that it is just finding the best ways to be comfortable.... keep warm at all times, music and videos recharging myself and devices as needed. Easy peasy.
@@thomasjsanford4369 : If I may, would you mind telling us (since this is a public forum, I’m asking on everyone’s behalf that is curious to know) what State do you live, so next time when anyone of us fly or visit your State, would be cautious enough to do & not to do. Thanks
If you have a carry-on, and don’t really need it WITH you on the plane or at a connecting airport, gate agents will often check it for free at the gate because the overhead bins fill up. One less piece of luggage to carry around.
Yes, don't delay going through the security. I walked past and saw all the security gates were empty, so I went and had a coffee and I returned 30 minutes before departure. There were suddenly 50 people on each line! They appeared out of nowhere!
Stella! Thanks for this! My husband is finally able to come because of exemption and will be able to meet his new baby girl for the first time! You took the time to carefully explain things from entrance to flight and showed great examples. Your bubbly personality made things pleasant and I don't think you were talking that fast, so for that, we appreciate you!!!
11. Always be alert to their announcements. Your boarding gate might change or whatever. 12. It is wise to know what stuffs are allowed and what-not in hand-carry & check-in.
11 HATE IT! I was in CDG in Business Lounge and decided to take a short nap. Put my alarm 20 minutes prior to Gaye closing. Gate has changed, and I didn't realize it immediately. I had to rush through the haul terminal 2F in order not to miss the flight. Now they have a new lounge in a better spot.
The usually incomprehensible announcements stress me so much!! It’s like trying to interpret a foreign language spoken in the back of a cave! I also love having an app and enabling text messages so the airline info comes in a readable form instead of garbled loudspeaker!
I'd like to add a Part B to one of your tips when hanging out at your gate... throughout your wait check your gate. Often times, your gate will change and you'll miss your flight! Just because your gate was assigned when you arrived at the airport doesn't mean it can't/won't change.
Ensure that you go to the right gate by matching flight numbers and company, not just city and time. Last time I went flying I went to the wrong gate (luckily they were next to each other and the staff came to get me). Departing: 8:15 to London (there where a British Airlines and a SAS flight going).
Absolutely understand the "zoning out" thing. Also once, I was so happy to take advantage of a good restaurant right near my Gate -- but it was noisy, so I didn't quite hear the announcement that they had changed the Gate! So set that alarm just a little ahead of time for hiccups.
My daughter works at the Escape Lounge at ONT. It's only $40 if you pay before arrival. $45 day of. You will spend that getting a decent meal and drink in the terminal. She said it's great and the passengers are awesome. Great tips Stella.
Great advice about nearby gates. I always do this. It doesn’t even need to be that close to my actual gate. I usually sit near the restaurant where I get food. I never understand why everyone packs into the actual departure gate. I also usually pay for food at the airport even though it is overpriced. I usually budget a lot of money to fly. I try to get my seat cheap and splurge at the airport. It gives me something to do because I’m usually early. I also like to get a beer at the airport if it isn’t too early in the day or sometimes early in the day lol. It relaxes me for the flight.
For some reason I just love airports. Just being in an airport or airplane is just so comforting for me. I honestly don't know why. Just all the cool tones and silver and blue just makes it feel so modern yet cozy.
Because many airlines are skimping on meals (not providing any even on long flights), I used to make a couple of P&J sandwiches and put them in zip-lock bags in my carry on. Now don't know if you could do that due to liquid restrictions. Meat sandwiches I worry about due to non-refrigeration. Guess cheese sandwiches could work.
It is so boring to get there early and sit around, but the anxiety of being late is much worse. She’s right.Go early. Check your bags early. Then check in and get past security. Find your gate, then look for restaurants, gift shops, whatever. But KNOW where your gate is and that you are clear with security.
Tip summary, pay (a lot) extra for more convenience. Claw back a few pennies asking cafes to fill your water bottle, and thumb the magazines without paying. Useful.
Great tips. Just one more, double check to be sure you have all your belongings when you leave security. You don't want to discover your left your laptop or phone on the checkpoint after getting to the gate. I worked at a large international airport for over fourteen years, and you would be amazed at what gets turned into lost and found.
I am a travel agent. I do act upon 1st advice and request my customers to do so as well, “to reach the airport 3 hours before flight departure.” Once you’re at the airport on time, rest of the things will be fine.!!
I am a retired Pilot with PAL and I love your channel. If everyone would follow your information it would make their flights so much earlier, you pay a few extra dollars and worth every cent. Ever since I have retired I I always follow your information. Your an and 74 are my two bibles. Why couldn't I have had? Oh, attendants like you. Keep up the good work now if we can get everyone else to follow them it would make flying so much easier. Oh, one more tip and not to get in front or behind someone so do not believe in bathing damn that can kill your whole day. Again keep up the great work, love your channel. I flew 747-SP, loved them but at 72 it is fly and enjoy.

No curbside check-in in Europe, Australia etc. No water fountains once your through security in Vienna airport and you can't fill up anywhere as they use grey water for toilets etc.
For the curve side check in I have some tips. I used to work that for American. If you know you may have a problem with your reservation (documentation, fees, wrong name spelling, etc..) don't even think about check in there. You have to go to the ticket counter to get it fix. Also, if you are late for check in (45 minutes prior your departure) curve side people won't take your bags. Last thing, please please please, tip the curve side people, most of the time they're vendors employees, meaning that they don't work directly for the airline so they don't get pay the same. They are outside when is cold, hot, windy, snowing, etc, so please, don't forget to tip them.
The lounge tip is a really great one. I used to think they were a luxury that I could easily do without. Now I'm hooked and can't fly without lounge access. It makes my trip that much more relaxing. And tip #11, get TSA Pre! While all the suckers are standing in the long security lines scrambling to take off their shoes and disrobe, you breeze on by in just a few seconds. Worth its weight in gold.
I did most of these tips on my first time flying alone to NZ and arriving early, having an empty water bottle, and getting ready to go through security were the most helpful. Next time I have to try spending that little extra for a lounge because I had an 8 hour layover in SF and it was torture waiting that long with that many people out
I’m leaving soon for a job and I’m flying by myself for the first time, I’ve always had friends or family with me on these flights so I’m super nervous I’m just ready to figure everything out
I always get to the airport early I rather get there & thru security & everything early than stressed out worried if ima make it. Plus I'm a bit challenged physically after a bunch of failed back surgeries so not only don't I move very fast I need to stop at times too.
#2 I am so stunned by this tip. Car service? I mean... car(!) to the _airport_ ?! Why?!!? Okay, maybe I am spoiled, because CPH (Copenhagen) has _the_ best airport train station, the train stops - literally - right under terminal 2. You step off the train, 10 meters(*) to escalator/elevator/stairs, 1 floor up, and you are in terminal 2. It can be a full rain storm out and you do not even get your hair wet. Fifty more meters, and you are at the first bank of self-serve check-ins. Why do not more airports do this? (*) best case, can be up to 100 meters depending on where in the train you are
Join TSA Pre-check. It’s amazing. Especially if you travel with a laptop. Also, always pack a change of clothes and medication in your carry-on, in case your checked bag is delayed.
If you are a frequent traveler, get TSA Pre-check. Costs 80 bucks for 5 years, but makes security checking a breeze. Shorter lines, don’t take off your belt or shoes, etc. if you are going to fly internationally, get the international version that adds faster customs handling... no lines
I pack always pack my inflatable neck pillow and collapsible water bottles to save space and weight! I regularly take week-long trips on budget airlines that only allow 1 personal item, so I use a duffle that juuust counts. I also use compression packing cubes!
#1 and #10 go together nicely. If you don't travel frequently you don't need a lounge membership, so spring for the occasional one-time pass (vacation treat!). Since they are available in 3 hour slots (or more) before your departure, its even more incentive to arrive early to check-in. As some of the lounges have showers, an even better incentive to arrive early.
We always fly when we go on vacation and to see family, etc. These were all very good tips. Nothing drives me crazier than getting behind someone who has never flown before in the security line. Or someone who is just not paying attention at all and then when it's there turn you have to wait 20 minutes for them to get there stuff together. I really liked your tip for carrying an empty water bottle. I had never thought to do that before and its a great tip! Thanks 😊
Stella, you are hilarious and great happy attitude. You are recommending us to stay read the magazines at the newsstand?! Wow didn’t we should be doing that.
Put your paper plane ticket in a zippered pocket. My worst airplane nightmare was when I put my London to the U S plane ticket in an open jeans pocket and it somehow fell onto the floor. A nice gate agent helped my panic--stricken self find where it fell on the floor. That was a huge feeling of relief.
I am pretty proud to say I do the first nine tips but I was hesitant to use the lounge. But after watching this great video I think I will give the lounge a try on my next long wait. Your the best Stella! Still waiting for a video on shoe recommendations from you to wear with uniforms :)
I've been a travel writer for 15 years, and you gave away one of my best secrets! (No 7 : ) )... Haha. I do it all the time, and it often baffles me why more people don't...
Plane spotting AND people watching. Can’t be beat. Don’t count on many airport lounges allowing you to buy your way in...god knows the Centurion Lounge at SFO is often so full, even many members can’t get in. Also, get yourself enrolled in the TSA Precheck program. Fun video. Thanks for posting.
I was always told not to take car service to the airport! By taking them, you are having a stranger pick you up at your home and now they know you won’t be home. (They could be a creep. They can ask you how long you will be gone and break into your home.) I don’t know maybe I watch to much law and order and criminal minds, but I was always told not to take a car service. I completely understand that asking a friend is an inconvenience but I always pay them like I would a car service! (And I’d rather give my friend money!)
Stella!!! Tip 7 is 💯💯💯. That’s exactly what I do too. The nearby gate is often empty and I can have a charging station all to myself😂Love all your tips💯
For #2, CLE (Cleveland Hopkins International) has a Rapid (Red Line Metro, inside the airport) that runs every 15 Minutes 7 Days a week from like 4am-1am. And the #22 runs overnight from 12a-4a 7days/wk (Every hour, outside in the lot).
Oh if only we had curb check in at the UK airports. And if you can avoid flying from Manchester International, DO SO! Water fountains at airports? At many in SE Asia they're either empty or non-existent.
I'm flying to Houston Texas in 16 days! I'm airplane crazy! Though I'm 10-14, my dreams of being a female pilot will never fade! 8th time flying and I'm proud!!! thanks for extra tips!!!
7:28 and this my friends is why you sit at your gate but maybe just sit in the back where you can still see everyone but you aren’t in the middle of it all😂
The airport lounge tip was the best for me, never thought of that before, to book one for transit trips. I’ve considered booking a lounge, however, I’m an airport explorer, shopping, dining, newsstand reading etc, therefore if I booked a lounge I wouldn’t get any use out of it, but if I know I have to wait 3 or 4 hrs for a transit flight, I’ll definitely book a lounge👍🏾😀. All the other tips I have down pat😉👌🏾😀. Thanks travel lady ☺️.
Hi Stella ! I just wanna tell you something, I'm French ( it's why my English is not 100% correct) but I understand you so well, your pronunciation, your debit it's perfect. I love your channel !
Our family is flying for the first time ever next July with our 9 y/o son wit autism! No flight booked yet but we took him around our airport last week just to show him and his sister what to expect! I am very nervous! Thank you for the tips!
Being early is so important. With technology, everything you are doing at home or at the office can be done at the airport. Why take the chance of bad traffic making you miss the flight? More importantly, why add stress? Travel can be stressful enough.
If you're travelling on a plane with no computer screen the airline most likely has an app on which you can get wifi or movies on your phone - but make sure to download the app and log in/sign up before you board (all honesty do it a day or two before, flying is stressful enough it's easier to not deal with it or actidentally forgetting and getting stuck on a 9 hour flight with nothing to do.) One more thing - Lotion counts as liquid! I've seen many people get pulled aside because they forgot to take out their lotions or hair gels etc. Hopefully this helps someone!
Be at airport early is really important not only for the massive line up at the check-in counter also for the security check not to mention some of the places you need to pre-clear customs. There always a reason why airline asked passengers to be at airport 4 hours before the departure time and not leave your home 4 hours before departure unless you just live right beside. And pre-select your seat and check-in online if you can, cuz when you got to the counter there's really nothing left...
I wear slip on shoes and thin socks and make sure there is no metal on me at all. If I want jewelry after TSA, I put it in my purse til after. You get through so much faster and less invasive that way. I also have a cloth tote bag I put the laptop and liquids bag in so it's easy to unload onto the belt then I put it all in the carryon after. Also a time saver. People get itchy if you take too much time to get your stuff on the belt to be scanned. LOL
Love them!!!! I’m the same way. We actually park our car in one of the nearby hotels and get a shuttle to the airport. A lot cheaper than parking at the airport. And when we get home the hotel pick us up and We get ourselves home. So easy.
I feel like as flight attendants we practically live in airports! lol, I also always love to browse the books in stores at the airport! I love watching your videos and hope to fly with you one day! :)
My wife is pathologically late. This has resulted in me SPRINTING through Airports, parking lots, really doing the OJ routine (almost did actually jump over a guy). When travelling on my own, I roll with just the carry on, show up a couple hours early, chill at the gate and have a nice relaxing flight. My daughter has experienced both extremes. She agrees the show up early and chill method is SOOOO much nicer. Charging Brick. Saves trying to shove your phone into the pile of other charging phones.
My ex used to end up leaving the house around the suggested time to arrive at the airport. As it was at aprox an hour drive- I started substituting the suggested arrival time as the flight time.
When I was abroad I had 8 hours between my connection at night so I wanted to go to the lounge... BUT: they charge you every 3 hours and it costs more than both of my plane tickets. I was so frustrated, but managed to fall asleep in the terminal
Car service yes! LAX is atrocious so I always offer to pay for my family/close friend's car service when they stay with me. Even though I live in the 'burbs, I'll gladly pay $50 for their Uber vs. sitting in LA traffic for HOURS.
Last time I exited US, my husband got a little absent-minded after a long winding line and forgot to take off his body bag. What did the TSA lady do? Yelled at the top of her lungs and then turned to her colleagues and announced that she really needed a vacation from all these passengers. Those TSA people need a raise and a few lessons on human etiquette.
my personal tips & hacks: 1. always use the check-in where you can do it with online machines which looks like ATM's instead of the ones where some worker does it. it's so much easier and so much faster. 2. if you're traveling with family, go to family security. there's usually very small lines. 3. do not eat sweets or chips etc. before flights. that makes you feel bloated in the plane, eat something healthy instead, and eat the sweets in the plane. 4. charge your phone in the airport. usually in the plane there's no places for USB charging. 5. for killing time: get some more information about the city or hotel or country that you're going to. that's actually pretty fun and i do it immediatly after we've booked the trip. 6. Watch photos about the airport you're flying to. It might save time while you're looking for the place you pick up your luggage, and pay attention on toilets!!

Are you saying you fly mostly international flights (since they include a meal in the ticket price)? I can fly for 11-13 hours and still be within the united states. Or I can fly 11 hours and fly internationally. One flight doesn't include meals, and the other includes meals.

Thankyou
Thank you! 😊😁😊
I was going to suggest the same. It makes it so much easier. It is even easier to check in ahead of time.

Hi Stella! I am a gate agent for the same airline as you. I like your tips but just want to add
Don’t be late (I agree with you).
Diane
Great tips!
Love all of these hints!! On the way home-I volunteer to gate check my carryon right away. Trip out I usually hang on to it just in case. Have had too many times where my luggage was a day or 2 behind me. Need the meds and some essentials with me😉

We always arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before the flight leaves
Getting to places early is common with many people in the world.
@@valerier3673 Yeah, get to the gate early and find a seat close to the gate.
What are some examples of an easy access area for my ID/Passport? I'm travelling for my first time soon and I want to be ready.
That’s a great tip!
Peapodster personally I keep mine in my shirt pocket. Easy to get at and it's very reassuring feeling the weight and seeing the telltale bulge letting you know that it hasn't disappeared on you
Don’t do the boarding pass on the we just traveled and they need it on paper so they had to print it out.

First time flyer on 3/13/22 thank you, and how do I know which group I’m in? And what kind of food c am I bring for international flights?
I travel a lot for work and a lot of these tips are fairly obvious but setting an alarm for boarding is genius and I can't believe I hadn't thought of it. Stella, your personality is great and you seem like someone I would love as a friend let alone an awesome flight attendant!
Chloe best tips ever for flight attendants 😆
My mom once got to the airport early for the flight before her actual flight so the airline let her board the earlier one!
Thats super cool! happened to me once too, they were like "we have another flight you can catch in 30 minutes if you want?" So yey for being early!
Easy peasy.
Be kind, smile and say thank you - nice manners and patience help to ease the stresses people sometimes reflect onto others. Enjoy ! : - )
Very true. It not only changes the experience for us when we behave like that, it changes the atmosphere for all those around us.
I’ve gotta say I drop plenty of friends off at the airport and I don’t mind at all😊
SuperPiper27 me too! Happy to do it! Special times with friends is always a bonus. There’s so little face to face these days.
From where I live to get to ATL airport, it could take 4hours to & from. Traffic is horrendous. Otherwise I wouldn’t mind either. All good tips😊
Lyft and Uber are both illegal in my State, and dangerous anyway, so I either have a friend take me, or use a reputable taxi..
@@thomasjsanford4369 really???? where do you live btw?
@@thomasjsanford4369 : If I may, would you mind telling us (since this is a public forum, I’m asking on everyone’s behalf that is curious to know) what State do you live, so next time when anyone of us fly or visit your State, would be cautious enough to do & not to do.

When traveling, I plan for my shoes to be easy on/off and no belt to save me time.
Yes sandals through security are awesome!
I keep my belt, jewelry, scarves and such in my carry-on until after security.
The shoes thing is only in the US as far as I can tell: after 21 countries across 4 continents -
I try not to war a belt either or take it off as soon as I get in the airport.
I’m just happy I always wear sandals and dresses everywhere so I don’t have to worry about socks and shoes, belts, pockets, etc.
If you have a carry-on, and don’t really need it WITH you on the plane or at a connecting airport, gate agents will often check it for free at the gate because the overhead bins fill up. One less piece of luggage to carry around.
Some TSA agents are awful people, just smile at them and don’t let it get to you. They can make your day a whole lot harder if they wanted.
very haunting to think they were once human, hopeful, joyful and filled with life just like us.
Love the setting the alarm for boarding tip!
It really helps!
I have to be up at 4:30 tomorrow for my flight ill use some of these thanks!
Useful.
What song did you use for background
It’s from the TH-cam free library “Beginnings” by Unicorn Heads 🦄
yes, the lounge thing is the best advise. if you are first class the lounge is free
Great tips. Just one more, double check to be sure you have all your belongings when you leave security. You don't want to discover your left your laptop or phone on the checkpoint after getting to the gate. I worked at a large international airport for over fourteen years, and you would be amazed at what gets turned into lost and found.
If it’s a later flight I usually track the inbound aircraft and I’m at the gate when it arrives.
Another tip that i do is towear comfortable clothes that keep you warm! Normally on the airplane it gets really cold so make sure to stat warm.
Thank you for the details 🙌👍
@@FlyWithStella you're welcome. Hopefully I'll see you someday here in ELP 😊
Oh wow!! A long layover of four or five hours in one of those fancy airport lounges sounds like nirvana!! It sounds so comfortable and luxurious.
Shorter lines, don’t take off your belt or shoes, etc. if you are going to fly internationally, get the international version that adds faster customs handling... no lines
For your bottle, add some dry tea, coffee or drink powder. Just add water after security.
Thanks 😊

Omg stella! You forgotten "The" tip of All tips! "Always" Check your flight status before heading to the airport!
I use the flight status website even at the airport to check if the gate # has changed or not
Being early is so important. With technology, everything you are doing at home or at the office can be done at the airport. Why take the chance of bad traffic making you miss the flight? More importantly, why add stress? Travel can be stressful enough.
If you're travelling on a plane with no computer screen the airline most likely has an app on which you can get wifi or movies on your phone - but make sure to download the app and log in/sign up before you board (all honesty do it a day or two before, flying is stressful enough it's easier to not deal with it or actidentally forgetting and getting stuck on a 9 hour flight with nothing to do.)
One more thing - Lotion counts as liquid! I've seen many people get pulled aside because they forgot to take out their lotions or hair gels etc.
Hopefully this helps someone!
My tip is have your passport and other relevant paperwork in a separate cross body bag, so that you are not fiddling around when you need the stuff
LOL

My dad travels A LOT for his job and it's always a breeze in the airport so it's never stressful and he's never gotten lost or anythings.
When I was abroad I had 8 hours between my connection at night so I wanted to go to the lounge... BUT: they charge you every 3 hours and it costs more than both of my plane tickets. I was so frustrated, but managed to fall asleep in the terminal
Lovely video ! Thank you very much.
Car service yes! LAX is atrocious so I always offer to pay for my family/close friend's car service when they stay with me. Even though I live in the 'burbs, I'll gladly pay $50 for their Uber vs. sitting in LA traffic for HOURS.
We park and fly. Cheap airport parking.org. We park at lax Hilton. About 10 bucks a day.
I've never been to LA but plan to go in the next years, are those the only option? Isn't there any public transportation from airport to the city?
This really helpful tips because I Will be travel in 2022.
Goes to airport 5 hours early--
My parents💀
Last time I exited US, my husband got a little absent-minded after a long winding line and forgot to take off his body bag. What did the TSA lady do? Yelled at the top of her lungs and then turned to her colleagues and announced that she really needed a vacation from all these passengers. Those TSA people need a raise and a few lessons on human etiquette.
Who else is watching travel related videos for nostalgia and excitement for future travels after the corona crysis?
my personal tips & hacks:
1. always use the check-in where you can do it with online machines which looks like ATM's instead of the ones where some worker does it. it's so much easier and so much faster.
2. if you're traveling with family, go to family security. there's usually very small lines.
3. do not eat sweets or chips etc. before flights. that makes you feel bloated in the plane, eat something healthy instead, and eat the sweets in the plane.
4. charge your phone in the airport. usually in the plane there's no places for USB charging.
5. for killing time: get some more information about the city or hotel or country that you're going to. that's actually pretty fun and i do it immediatly after we've booked the trip.
6. Watch photos about the airport you're flying to. It might save time while you're looking for the place you pick up your luggage, and pay attention on toilets!!
