It's 2023 and he's still here which is incrediable and I deeply hope he has many years left. What a wonderful man who truly cares about his fans and is soo gracious to open his home for us to be able to enjoy a side of his personal life most entertainers will never let you see. I'm 68 and grew up watching many of the variety shows he appeared on and I miss those days very much. I wish I could meet him but don't feel that will ever happen.
I absolutely agree with Dianne that Engelbert should be Knighted. He dedicated hisi whole life to singing beautiful songs and music and remained a dignified, soft-spoken and polite gentleman- how a true English genleman should be. Engelbert should become Sir Engelbert, at last!
What a wonderfully genuine man. I did not realize that when I was young enough to say, "I am an Engelbert Humperdinck fan." Now I shall say it. So interesting to see that Sir Cliff Richard and Freddie Mercury share pretty much the same background. England is a great place to be if you have talent, and a great place to find acceptance and encouragement.
Engelbert is a beautiful man, a gentleman. The best singer ever. I'm always happy, listening to his songs. I enjoyed this video of his home, part of his private life and glad he shared it with the world, his fans. God bless him always. Thank you for posting this video
Dear Engelbert, how interesting; enjoyed all the interview; Patricia is so talented and you all garden is beautiful. Everything is beautiful WOW! So glad you are so blessed Sir. Thank you for the tour.Bennie
What a wonderful, loyal and faithful family man. If the world had more men like Engelburt with his compassion and understanding of life then it would be a greater place to live. His voice and genuine tenderness brings you closer to your fellow man and many countless memories through the passing of time. A true star who will always shine in the darkest nights keeping you safe whilst bringing light and hope until the morning sun rises. Devoted fan Nigel Raymond Wilson.
Here is a great singer who worked his way to stardom. For those that think singing is easy think again. Talent, Luck, and Perseverance is what is needed.
Love this interview. I’m so glad Engel is back home in Leicestershire right now. I know being there without Patricia is difficult but I also know he loves his home in Leicestershire.
I admire the humility and gracious spirit this man has! It would be lovely to have him as a friend! Praying God will continue to bless him with good health for many more years!
I saw him in Las Vegas in the early 80's and again 2013 and he sounded just as fantastic--30+ years. One of the most beautiful male voices ever. My husband was surprised how much he enjoyed his first concert, so the second time around I did not have to force him to go. His last CD, The Man I Want to Be, is wonderful.
Your songs ,my all time favorite. Love u my idol... I am a Pilipina admire u so much as my favorite singer. You, elegant songs, elegant rendition, elegant Engelbert Humperdicnk
My husband and I saw you in Warwick R.I.at the Warwick. Every BIG star performed there, and you were the highlight of performances. Heard you a few nights in your Hawaii performance. Been listening to his wonderful songs since i was a grade school to-date,human will fade but his wonderful songs will never fade from generation to generation, from the rocky mountains of northern Philippines 😍😊😉
My beloved mother passed away recently, she had a collection of his albums and sang and danced. We were brought up on listening to Engelbert's music as young children. During my mother's Eulogy, my daughter made a comment about her grandmother's love for his music and recalled the songs that she remembered. My daughter was four at that time.
Ms. Gordon.....please accept my condolences over the recent loss of your beloved Mother....losing one's Mom is a horrible thing, trust me, I know....it's very difficult but i appreciate her Eulogy mentioned her love for Sir EH😎👑🌷
Engelbert and their beautiful home in Great Glen, UK. I have been fortunate for having been there. Did get a tour, but not quite like the one Enge is about to give you. If you see a mower being driven about, that is of course, Patricia Enge's darling wife of 53 years. Enjoy the tour! xxx
I remember my great teacher in junior high in 1968 in Pematang Siantar, Sumatra, Indonesia, a great admirer of Engelbert Humperdink, who taught us English and started with 'Release Me" to show an example of the verb 'to release', by opening the upper button of his shirt..

Thank you so much for taking the time for this wonderful video. I loved the work your talented wife did with all the gardens, simply beautiful. I have enjoyed your music since 1969, when I heard your marvelous voice over the radio. Thanks again Engelbert for the years of performing.

Now that was really lovely. Lovely, quiet interview. How often can you say what an amazing and unique voice this man has? Wonderful sound and breath control. That's what I always notice. And the voice is unique and beautiful. I must go now and listen to, "Please Release Me." (Very enjoyable video.)
Brilliant interview. Lovely person and handsome man. First heard ‘Release Me’ when I was about six or seven years old, and still never tire of hearing it.
I was in my first year at "college" in 1968 in USA. I bought a couple albums; yours was my first choice. I never heard of you, but I had to have it. A man that handsome had to be good. I played the album over and over again. Your voice was (and still is) just amazing. You stole me from Elvis!!
You what i liked you most you lovebyour wife so much anh how ypu miss her when you sang everywhere i go i felt your hrartbresks while singing and your good family man WHAT A GREAT PERFORMER sand i thanked you for giving us your endless songs
You and you're wife surely has beautiful children and im glad for you both , they carry on the genetics after we're gone, Ty so much for giving us a glimse into you're lives it is very generous of you and Your Sweet Patricia and Family ! What a Legacy ! 🌍🌎🌏⚘
Wow My friend 'Auntie' Pat ( I did not know who she was till years after we lost touch ) was incredible! A warm kind lovely modest woman who I and my daughter Elen adored. She predicted I would re engage with my art one day and now I am at 58 part way through my Fine Art degree. She often talked about her garden and I never had a clue like I say, who she was. So very sweet to see it here and her whizzing by on the mower... I am still sad for her passing and miss her, but lost her number and lost touch. My husband who has similar dark good looks has bought us tickets for the upcoming Leicester Concert. I know I will cry thinking of her, my condolences to Eng and all the Dorsey family, my husband is in a wheelchair and I wish Auntie Pat could see how happy he makes me xxxx
THAT BEAUTIFUL LADY HE MARRIED IS SICK AND SHE IS NO LONGER WITH HIM IF SHe KNOWS HIM AT THIS TIME. WHAT A wonderful PERSON HE has devotion is virtue. Love is forever . He is a nice person NEVER knew him only by his songs. Now I see a PERSON SO KIND devotion FOR his wife.
I'm so happy for all your successes. Your voice/music has filled my house for years. My kids have all grown up with your beautiful voice, beautiful words to such awesome love songs. You're the very best! After the Lovin and This Moment in Time are two of my favorites.
I have a compilation of his songs which I play nightly to put me to sleep. My favorites are "After the Loving", ""Love is All", "0n the Wings of a Silver Bird", "If Tomorrow Never Comes" and about 100+ others. I would recognize his voice anywhere. I never loved any singer the way I love him.
What a quietly spoken, affable fellow - not at all what one might think watching his shows in the 1960's/1970's. Very interesting video, thanks for posting!
THANK YOU!

@TomJ-pi9ze Is this a joke? She's talking about Engelbert! Though if you really are Tom Jones, you're terrific as well.

Since I was young Engelbert was my favorite singer. I'm 65 now and I'm still his fan. One of my sons heard him singing" Release Me" and he thought that I was singing it. He asked me : When did you record that song ? It was the best compliment ever. He never heard about Engelbert before.
Englebert Humperdinck was born in Madras, now Chennai in INDIA. His name is Arnold George Dorsey ( Gerry Dorsey ) He was born on the 2nd May 1936. He is proud to be Anglo Indian. Love him and his music.
Jacob Mayants. I do love Englebert’s music but not sure why he avoids saying he is born in India. I purposely said he is proud to be Anglo Indian but not sure if he really is. If he saw my comment maybe it would strike a chord in him and he would own up if and when he is asked the question as to where he was born and not avoid it. One should never forget their roots and be proud for who they are.
I tried to check the wikipedia and this is his background. Engelbert (born Arnold George Dorsey) was born in Madras, British India (present-day Chennai, India) in 1936, one of ten children to British Army NCO Mervyn Dorsey, who was of Welsh descent, and his wife Olive, who according to Dorsey was of German descent. So he is not really of Indian race strictly speaking.
Engelbert Elvis had nothing on you you're the best 2 me I I've loved you for a long long time glad to hear you perform you're the best don't forget it my love Linda powell Tennessee
Engelbert was at home one day and accidently set the alarm off. I was a traffic cop at the time and the call came out. Myself and my crew mate arrived at his home and found him at the rear of the house. He apologised profusely, and invited us in for a coffee. We sat in the kitchen and had a very nice chat. He's one of Leicester's own, a great man! He also gave us a quick guided tour of the house and the 'Famous' Pub! That was around 1980/1

He is a very good singer and an awesome husband to his wife .Very loving husband to his wife and I admired him so much
I was in my first year at "college" in 1968 in USA. I bought a couple albums; yours was my first choice. I never heard of you, but I had to have it. A man that handsome had to be good. I played the album over and over again. Your voice was (and still is) just amazing. You stole me from Elvis!!
I could listen to his gorgeous speaking voice forever and a day ❤

I'm so happy for all your successes. Your voice/music has filled my house for years. My kids have all grown up with your beautiful voice, beautiful words to such awesome love songs. You're the very best! After the Lovin and This Moment in Time are two of my favorites.
Great interview. Guarantee we hear his songs when we have a few beers.
I BORN IN CUBAN, BUT SINCE 1979, I LIVE IN FLA,USA FOR ME YOU ARE THE SINGER BEST, IN THE WORLD, TODAY AND FOREVER
By any
I have a compilation of his songs which I play nightly to put me to sleep. My favorites are "After the Loving", ""Love is All", "0n the Wings of a Silver Bird", "If Tomorrow Never Comes" and about 100+ others. I would recognize his voice anywhere. I never loved any singer the way I love him.
Wow! Still very, very handsome.
What a quietly spoken, affable fellow - not at all what one might think watching his shows in the 1960's/1970's. Very interesting video, thanks for posting!

You are a wonderful human being.....
A GOOD GUY A REAL GUY WE HAVE TALK AND I FELT HE WAS LIKE A BROTHER IN DEED
Я очень рада видеть и слышать своего любимого исполнителя в домашней обстановке, и, хотя я не понимаю, о чем он говорит, уверенна, что о своем творчестве, своей семье, и нас, своих поклонниках его величайшего таланта.
@@karenbavington1870 Since you're not sure why bother to say it especially since it's nobody's business but Englebert's. Home is where the heart is.
Ria Whatever! What’s it to you and why are you making it your business.
Karen Bavington ........I didn't know that. I always thought he was Welsh/German but now that you mention it, he does have an Indian look about him.
A great voice and a great guy!
Englebert a great guy real gentleman lives in the real world, thinking wishing your wife well.
I followed him went to his concerts and played his records every Sunday after church .i am now 90 years old and he still sings beautifly.
I love all your music, been a fan ever since I was in my teens.
Love his music. Always has been my favorite.

Wonderful ... thank you very much indeed.
