    A good friend of mine bought one of these new. Same engine and options. It was very fast with no modifications at all. He kept losing the drive shaft. The rear u joint was held to the pinion with straps. Once he replaced the straps with the stronger u bolts it was fine. It was a pretty dark green with the same black interior. I think it cost less than $3500.00 new. This one looks to be the same as new.

    I have a pair of correct 604/605 headlight bezels for sale if you want to fix that. You have the incorrect 789/790 bezels. Asking $250 for the pair.

    Why is the engine rattling? Bad idle?

    • @dominicpetruzzelli3134
      @dominicpetruzzelli3134 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it has the 396-375hp solid camshaft, that might be why the engine is somewhat noisey. I have the same cam in my car

    • @dominicpetruzzelli3134

      That car should have a "solid lifter" cam in it, and if so, it might be in need of a valve adjustment.

      It's either very cold engine (slightly oil starved) or several valves are way out correct specs. Mine too sometimes sounded like a diesel but only when it was cold and had been a week or more since driven.

    nice car but the headlight bezels are wrong. Do your research and you will see what I mean. The originals are hard to find, so everyone puts the wrong ones one

      There only one bezel for the nova 68-72 and this is correctly blacked out like it should be for the SS. I think you mistaking it for a Yenko which weren't blacked out.

      Numbers matching is pretty boring ... these things were meant to be driven. Seems silly to spend enormous amounts of money to just stare at a car.

    • @paulraidna2646

      No, they are different for 68, 69 and 70-72. These are 789/790 bezels on this car which are only correct for 70-72. I have a correct set of 604/605 for sale, (no vertical rib) bezels that would be correct for this car.

    Is it a COPO Nova ?

    • @WeBeAutosLtd

      No, however it's a Rare L78

    • @GlassTopRX7
      @GlassTopRX7 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      COPO's in 69 had L72 427's like the Camaro's. The 70' COPO got the LT1 350, you could still order the L78 70' for the Nova SS but it was an unadvertised dealer order. In the L34 396\350 was advertised as the top engine.
      Despite the 25 hp rating difference the L78 was the real deal as it shared much in common with the L72 and LS6 aside from the displacement. So the lessor 396's was a significant downgrade, which is why the 396 is often either respected or dismissed by many.

      @@GlassTopRX7 there were no COPO Novas in 69 with the L72, GM wouldnt do it. Thats why Don Yenko did the swaps himself, the 70 COPO Novas came with a LT1 350 from the Z28.

    • @GlassTopRX7
      @GlassTopRX7 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is correct what I was trying to say was the Nova's had the the same engine as the COPO's. That's clearly not what I said there so you are correct to point that out. @@WeBeAutosLtd
