Use ESP32-H2 to Build Smart-Connected Devices from Different Ecosystems

  • ESP32-H2 is Espressif Systems' first wireless-communication RISC-V SoC that supports both IEEE 802.15.4 (Thread/Zigbee) as well as Bluetooth 5 (LE). Thanks to the low-power-consumption features of the IEEE 802.15.4 standard and the integrated DC-DC converter, ESP32-H2 enables developers to build applications that actually decrease the power consumption of their devices even further.

ESP32-H2, which leverages Espressif’s Wi-Fi and Thread capabilities, can be used to build Thread Border Routers that connect Thread and Wi-Fi networks. What’s more, ESP32-H2 can also be used to build Zigbee gateways, allowing users to control devices in the existing Zigbee network through the Matter protocol. Thus, with ESP32-H2, Espressif can now provide users with a full-featured Matter protocol solution, namely: interconnected Matter devices using i) either Wi-Fi or ii) Thread, as well as
