    Awesome video Remy! My favorite was that good ole grafted monti cap. I don't know if this is considered grafted, but I have a frogspawn frag, and the polyp is half green and half blue, I'm excited to grow it out and see how it evolves.

By a mile, ive never seen a setosa in 2out of the 3 colors that purple woild look really awesome on its own as well but yeah im def gonna have to get me a piece of that grafted setosa sooner or later thats one of my fav corals ive seen in a long long time!! If only they werent so expensive!! I might trh getting some diff shades of setosa than what i have and try grafting them the only color of setosa have right now is the platinum neon oeange colored ones that glow grom across the room even when theyre the size of a quarter but i still woild love a red one or if i could find one in thag purple color or the orangish green color like that i would love that only other ahade i ever see than mine is red im gonna get a piece of it jus to try grafting it with mine… man imagine if h could get fleshy lps to geaft like that like euphyllia or say an acantho man that would be insanely awesome!!

    1:07 Those grafted Montipora are not caps. True Montipora capricornis do not have tuberculae or papillae and are usually dull purple.
    5:10 that’s a either a Psammocora or colonial Cycloseris (C. wellsi, explanulata, mokai), not a Lithophyllon.

    • @TobysTank

      I have many "caps" people.jave given me and they do NOT look like my others. They have a much more irregular and thicker pattern to them.

      @@ReefBuildersVideo That wasn't meant to be mean. I just literally can't tell if you didn't know that information (for example walling) or if you wanted him to go into more details about it by asking the question.

      @@M3I15 I appreciate your clarification. As an interviewer, I never assume that the whole audience knows what is being talked about with things like this. So yes, I go in with a sense of newbie curiosity. One of the major things that holds beginners back in this hobby is being able to ask questions openly and not be raked over the coals for "not knowing." Are Acros and Chalice the only corel you can graft? I have a small paly colony. I believe they are Purple Death. There are some yellow palys beside them. Now it seems that they are starting to graft together because I have half yellow, half purple palys, some with puple streaks. A now some of the yellow ones are now completely purple. Even though they started yellow. I tried to check reef2reef about this but I really couldn't find much, other then people saying it isn't possible.

    • @ReefBuildersVideo
      @ReefBuildersVideo  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Many different corals have the potential to get “infected” with pigmentation. So not just acros or chalices.

    • @lucidairity7927
      @lucidairity7927 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just make sure you manage the area on them that has the pigments morphing into one another if you are careful with your fragging of it you could very easily have a potential great mix yellow and purple sounds like a mix a lot of people would like

    • @fat_ninja9569
      @fat_ninja9569 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Lucid Airity I think I'm going to try to frag it soon. It's pretty cool because it's like the polyps were divided in half then stuck together. You would think it wouldn't have that much of a separation of the colors. But more of a blend of the two.

    • @lucidairity7927
      @lucidairity7927 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fat_ninja9569 absolutely gorgeous I bet I hope the fragging goes very smooth 🙏 awesome to know more and more variety exist in this hobby
