I know of foreigners who studied here since poly - > uni and worked in sg, staying here for more than 15 years but their pr still got rejected. Some stayed here for more than 10yrs and had children but still got rejected for PR
My friend who is a professor in NUS and he even invented something using waste which make singapore name proud internationally but he is not granted renewal for his PR.

Congratulations! As much as I welcome u to be part of us, I agree it is a big decision, as each country has its perks and quirks, pros and cons. U may enjoy certain things about being a Japanese citizen that you may not bear to leave behind, or u may like how Singapore is pretty much free of natural disaster, for example. Take your time and think this through. I think most of us will still continue to support ur channel and what u do, regardless of ur decision!

I checked my hubby’s application monthly… When the document upload button disappeared, it meant an outcome would be available soon so I checked once a day for about 2 weeks. Then I shrieked one morning and husband knew his application got approved. It was a happy day.
Congrats ghib! My kids just got their PR too after 10 years and 4 tries. I cried hard. Can't believe finally my kids can be with me for 5 years coz every year we were at the Ica just to renew for them. And yes, thick envelope means approved! Thin envelope means....rejection. #welovesg

I'm so happy for you, Ghib! Please remember to complete your application for your IC before the due date. Technically, you aren't considered a Singaporean till you apply for full citizenship instead of being a PR. That's because you can't hold 2 countries' passports at the same time. Maybe for now, you can only say 'Jit buah Sing Ka Poh lang lai liao.' 😅

Since your PR has been approved, I don't see why there still is a need for you to consider the acceptance of the offer. If that is the case, then in the first place, you shouldn't have considered applying for it. If you reject this offer, then in the future, if you apply again, your chance of getting the PR will probably be very very slim.
At least your wife are rewarded with the PR later citizenship, my class mate 2nd wife is a mainlander married here 2 kids aged 1 and 4 , till this day she still holding on to LTVP .. numerous applications got rejected .. poor chap .
@@nsevv it’s not about any particular ethical group , it’s about what you have in your sleeves our gov wants , example you are a tech person , AI specialist especially, banking industries, etc or a multi billionaire whom not only invested here but literally your entire wealth used Singapore as your base . See carefully it’s billionaire I’m talking about NOT millionaires or multi millionaire as we lack no such people as we have plenty here . That’s why you see FB , Alibaba or some massive Fund Managing top people migrated here . Or if you form a young , highly educated family worth children, it also seen as a welcome addition because we need “quality” immigrant and we lacks men here to serve the military. But base on my experience and people that I know, unless your have the above otherwise nationality from China and Vietnam are literally impossible to obtain their citizenship or PR .

But my wife who also stayed overseas with me, is a citizen & my 3 daughters (stayed in school dorm in SG) who are studying there, are also citizens. A few months back I tried to check my CPF account, it still exists, still there. I haven't got the time to go to ICA to check on my status because nowadays I only visit for short trips. Very proud to be part of SG. Each year during NDP, I always feel 感动 and I even had more SG apps than my wife and kids 😅.

It is extremely hard for non-chinese to get citizenship. Our government have a racist, anti-meritocratic immigration policy to maintain a high percentage of chinese race. Hopefully policy will change in future.

It’s luck 🍀 not every application is approved on the 1st try… Ghib did his homework and with Luck 🍀 from MIL charms he got it in his 1st try!!!
