Wow! I am the first commenter today. :) This is a very nice project. I think Flamingos are very popular among a lot of people. Thank you again for your helpful videos.
Love all you do and how you walk us through it. So thank you for that!! I have a question. When you say thread with a matching bobbin for the embroidery, are you using the same embroidery thread top and bottom? Because I took a class and they said the only time that you use matching bobbin with a thread is freestanding lace. I wanna make sure that I’m understanding it right that I am OK to use both threads like you do.
Hi Beverly. Free standing lace isn't the only thing you use a matching bobbin you were not correctly informed. When you make anything that is reversible or seen on both sides for example a coaster, placemat, somewhere you will hang up as a decoration and it has an embroidered edge, you use a matching bobbin, so that it looks nice when seen from either side. Yes you wind it from your top thread. Free standing lace is done with a matching bobbin as it is reversible and thus seen from both sides hence why you use a matching bobbin for that too. If you are sewing an applique item onto clothing, a bag or onto something else and the back wont be seen, you dont have to use a matching bobbin as it wont be seen after it is sewn on. I hope that helps you. It is absolutely fine to use a matching bobbin whenever you want to dont be afraid to use them. Happy stitching.

@@beverlyreynolds5686 You're welcome. Machine embroidery is a steep learning curve so you are right to ask if you are in doubt. Happy stitching.
