“Dodgers pitching has been historically good” was definitely NOT something I expected to hear in this years postseason but here we are. Baseball is such a weird and amazing sport.
That throw by K. Hernandez aiming towards third but throwing spot on to second all in one motion, had the runner's brain completely scrambled. Amazing stuff.

It’s incredible how the team analytics works in today’s game, the probability that Ohtani drives home a runner in scoring position is so high that the player before Ohtani bunts, that way Ohtani can get the runner in scoring position, he got a hit and it worked, That’s baseball at it finest!
They played so smart reminded me of the Japanese team during the WBC last year they had a strategy and didn’t need to go for home runs just needed to ensure they got runs at every chance they could. Also I like how everyone is doing their best to help Freddie as well he pretty much limped to home and was caught by Mookie to help slow down

No, I disagree. He was exaxtly same through Yamamoto in game2 and Buehler in game3. He didn't pull them out until damage is done. He somehow born again and didnt' let that happen since game 4, which is why we are here.

As a Dodger fan, I never had the chance to see Tommy Edman on a regular basis. But since he has become a Dodger, I have been wondering how on Earth the Cards could've let him go. He's a jack-of-all-trades who has proven invaluable.
Jack Flaherty has also been a spectacular addition for the Dodgers. These two guys are rock solid.

Shohei Ohtani had already surpassed Mike Trout in playoff experience when he made his appearance in Game 4 of the NLDS. Now, after playing in the NLCS, he has come farther in the playoffs than Trout, who only made it till the division series, ever did.

There was a throw by Hernandez in center in the 5th inning where he changed his mind to throw to 2nd instead of gunning it to 3rd and because of that got in the base runners head and caught him in a pickle.. what a high IQ play..

The poodres did alot of talking for a team that never won anything, especially Tatis and Machacho reminds me of juveniles in school did alot of talking but got the lowest grades.
Los Angeles fans need to remember that the Yankees outscored the Pirates in the 1960 World Series. but the Pirates won the Series. This was simply the first of the four wins they will need to win the NLCS.
The Yankees didn't just outscore the Pirates, they did so by more than a 2:1 ratio.
I was reminded of the 1982 World Series, when the Brewers won G1 10-0, then the Cards came back and won in 7 games. Also 1996, when the Braves so utterly dominated the Yankees in the first two games that people in Atlanta legitomately asked if they were the best team since the 1927 Yankees. Whereupon the 1996 Yankees came back and won four straight, taking the Series in 6.

He just came off from two injuries. He only played once in 2024 in the regular season and once in the post season before this game. He had a great 2023 season though. It was risky to play him this game since it he had a short rest and coming off two injuries. It was a bad move. He was clearly off this game.

Bad mistake by Mendy in putting in Senga, who doesn't look ready after a long injury. Hopefully the Mets can recover and flourish,one thing's for sure it's a step up from the choking phillies that's for sure
Even beyond giving up 9 runs, between the base running boner by Winker and Alonso missing an easy double play, the Mets did not look like a playoff caliber team tonight.

Ohtani wasnt credited with his RBI double in the 4th inning, turning it into RBI single even though he got to 2nd base.(yahoo sports stats) can someone explain the details below? If the fielder commits an error can it turn hitters stats from 3b run into 2b or 2b into single in the sheets? Im curious about rule star details. Thx
You got it exactly right, errors and fielder decisions can affect the scoring. In this case the official scorekeeper decided that Ohtani only went to 2nd because Marte bobbled the ball. It's a good question, this ruling is actually a little bit unusual imo, because Edman would almost certainly not have scored from 1st without the error. It's both generous and stingy of the scorekeeper (who is just one guy making his own judgment calls) to let Ohtani have the RBI but not the double.
