This may be a bit misleading, but the game was just like the 2023 WBC Japan team. If the game and pitching staff can revive like this, I can have optimistic thoughts. I hope that this will be a league championship game that reminds NY reporters who the true NLMVP is and which team has the highest winning percentage in MLB this season.
I'm pretty sure he can engage in casual conversations in English by now. However when doing interviews or public speeches, it's normal to go through an interpreter to avoid certain misinterpreted nuances (and being more comfortable with his native language). It's like when you have politicians or spokespeople that are 100% capable of speaking fluent English but they still opt to go through a translator instead.
David Ortiz didn’t always say the Dodgers were going to win. Once he saw the Padres series turn he started choosing the Dodgers. The only one that kept saying Dodgers are winning was D Train.
Ohtani's uniform always gets dirty, and that makes him look like a baseball kid who really loves playing baseball. That is one of the reasons why he gets a lot of fans. ←英訳はこんな感じですかね?
I transcribed what was actually said in Japanese and translated it using Google Translate. I don't understand English, so I can't judge how far the nuance differs from the translator's, but I hope it helps you. (1)What is the reason you are getting so many hits in scoring position? I don't know. I think it was just a coincidence. My teammates were creating chances and putting us in scoring positions, so I think that's why I was able to concentrate more. (2)You have scored 9 points without a home run, but how do you feel about the strength of your batting lineup? I think each and every player really did their job, and I thought the way they scored good points, whether it was the opening run, the middle run, or the final run, and the way they played the game was fantastic. Of course, I think the pitching staff, including Jack, was also great. (3)The team just tied the record of 33 consecutive scoreless innings. How impressive is that pitching? Each and every player is doing a great job and can focus more on offense. The entire team believes that as long as the fielders are thinking about offense, they will be fine.
Shohei Ohtani is the best player ever. It ain't rocket science.

Next season and the year after and the next 10 years after that I can guarantee the Dodgers will make the postseason. Is it because they have a great front office? LOL No. It's because unlike the NFL, NBA and NHL, MLB refuses to institute a salary cap. A large market that creates unlimited revenue, allows an owner to spend unlimited funds giving mid to lower markets zero chance to compete. Making the sport highly predictable and without parity.
huh. The NBA pretty much has a hard cap that has made it very difficult for teams to build any superteams with the new current collective bargaining agreement. This past offseason free agency was a good example. Most teams had to sign players without being heavily penalized for being above the first and second aprons.
If that was true, howcome the teams in the last 10 postseasons aren't only the teams with highest payrolls? Specially now with the expanded wildcards. If the front office makes no difference why do you think some MLB teams try to hire highly qualified people? wouldn't be better for the owners profit to hire whomever is cheaper? You can't shout a lack of parity when there are owners who don't care to invest in the improvement of their organizations
I don't like that the interviewer is directing the questions it seems at the translator because he's looking at him. 2nd point can't you improve the framing and just crop the translator out a bit? We really don't need to see him. Lastly, the translator blinks too much.
Both Ohtani and Betts are pure class, both as players and team mates.
And Freeman
@@rogerperalta2888 Totally. The others are as well, and Jack Flahert's post game interview was especially impressive.
Shohei is a beast! ⚾️
I hope Los Angeles Dodgers will win NLCS and go on win World Series!

Shoei still using an interpreter though he can do the interview in english for his fans in Japan
Always a good idea to ensure there are no nuances that might be misinterpreted.

We saw ohtani saying stupid fk to a ref, we all know he’s fluent in English now😂

Anybody saw the movie lost in translation? It seems that the translator “filtered” too much for Ohtani.
They usually do for interviews and just iterate the main points due to time constraints.
Yeah will paraphrases a lot
普通に集中するだけで、19打数16安打の得点圏打率になるのか……
A way to have 34 scoreless in the postseason is not have miller and kershaw pitch 😂
Nah max definitely knows 3 of them had picked the padres to advance, you could tell 🤣🤣

Then you can try translating with emotions and words. Let’s see

Can the Dodgers organization replace the translator? He seems too dry & unexcited to Ohtani's personal achievements.
He's an interpreter, not a fanboy or a cheerleader
