This would probably be my 2nd favorite KU team to not win the championship. My #1 choice would be 2019-2020 squad with Dotson and Azbuike, that squad would probably have been the #1 overall seed and were dominant defensively, 28-3 on the season, 17-1 in Big 12 play (that's insane). It sucks they never got the opportunity to compete in the tournament, they were such an elite squad.
I just couldn't believe this game myself. Or this team really. They came back in every game during this tournament. The true survive and advance mentality. Thomas Robinson just making big shots, Travis making some big plays, Withey becoming the Wizard at the end of that game with the "YOU SHALL NOT PASS" blocks that led to fast break points at the other end and Elijah Johnson and Taylor just pushing the ball to get easy scores when they were having so much trouble scoring in the half court in the first half.
It always amazes me how hard it is to miss a free throw on purpose - you see it all the time even in the NBA in those situations, either the ball goes in when they try to miss it or they do something wrong like Craft did here, lane violation, ball fails to hit the rim so it can't even be rebounded, etc. I guess because you don't practice missing free throws.
You wanna talk about keeping composure. These guys had more heart than any squad ever had.
That’s just Kansas basketball, baby. Can’t play here if you don’t have heart.

I think this was the tipping point where shorts started getting short again.
I prefer this look to the current look. These shorts were a little too baggy tho. I think the late 90s were the best.
What a run by this Kansas team. It's unfortunate they lost to Anthony Davis & Kentucky, but they were true fighters

Probably my favorite Bill Self team of all time because they played within themselves and didn't try to be something they weren't.
what does that even mean?
Jason Roberts mine was with embib, Wiggins, selden, and Mason (who for the record could still be at ku)
what this team lacked in pure talent the made up for in toughness....only wish this years team had a little bit of that toughness..
