Bob Davis was awesome! We would often mute the tv and listen to Bob call the game on the radio. His enthusiasm was contagious .Hard to do that with the delay on the tv now.
How can this not be the greatest National Title Game of alltime? Kansas was down 9 POINTS with 1:56 left in game, and came back to win the National Championship in OT. (...not to mention the storyline behind it, being 20 year anniversary of Jayhawk's 1988 National Championship.)
Memphis lost all hope when Mario sunk that 3 to tie it up. Whoever said Memphis wanted it more is full of it. They were totally discouraged when that happened. KU was destined to win that day.
One shining moment Mario Chalmers edition...mop all American defensive 2nd team steals leader ..what more can you say...funny how in the NBA this kid was unknown and hated by fans thinning he was a bum...
Were you watching the same Mario Chalmers I was? Yes recently he has had to go to Memphis, but he won two Championships with Lebron James with the Heat. How does that make him a bum? In fact he is a National Champion and 2 time NBA Champion. I think anyone would like to have that.
Brad I am sure glad you posted the videos that you do... Seems I watch them all the time ,,, it's like a trip back in time and to see the Jayhawks comeback wins is a breath taker... thanks for all you do ..
Not that big of a KU fan, I'm actually planning to attend Pitt State, but wow I can't help but root for them after seeing this and especially how they've been playing this year.
Kansas has won the National Championship twice in my lifetime and it required "Miracles" both times to do it. Danny and the Miracles and Mario's Miracle. I want them to win more championships, but please don't let it be a Miracle again. I don't think my heart will be able to take it.
My dad's old job used to have March Madness Bracket Challenge. It was open to the families too. This was the only year that I won the thing and it came down to this game. If Memphis won another guy would have won the money. I only won $50. One other thing that I remember is that there was a tie-breaker just in case if two people had the same winner. It was whomever came closest to the total number of points scored by the two teams in the final. I got the number exactly 143 points. 75 to 68.
That was the loudest game I had been to at Allen. I have been to many since, but I still think that one tops them all. My 10 year old nephew was in complete shock during the last 20 minutes.
Good thing KU won, because if Memphis did, they would have vacated the title due to an ineligible player that never should have played a minute that season. #Rose
I am sorry, but I disagree with this which I know you are entitled to your own opionion. Bob Davis was an icon for the Royals, and the Jayhawks. I grew up listening to him and Max Falkenstein doing play by play for the Royals and the Jayhawks.
it is incredible that something that happened almost a decade ago can still make me so uneasy. Love this video. Man, I miss Bob Davis...
I know what you mean and yes Bob will be missed!
It makes me tear up when I hear, "Got it!!!!!"

Goosebumps and tears!
still get chills everytime I watch that game.
Same here I am glad you enjoyed it.
Me too brother, me too!
That shot Mario made always gives me chills.
Anyone else get chills from the “ JAYHAWKS WIN IT IN OVERTIME 75-68 KU NATIONAL CHAMPIONS”
The legendary Bob Davis on the Jayhawk Radio Network.
I have a framed picture of the very last one in this video hanging in my room. Best game I have ever watched

Notice how Darrell Arthur and Mario Chalmers ended up playing for Memphis in the NBA
Conor Sexton ironic
That is interesting.
now we need the Lawson brothers for grizzlies and James Wiseman in 2 years
Classic game from start to finish.
The opening video and music at Allen Fieldhouse since 2008, it's awe inspiring.
My vote for #1 vid in TH-cam history
Thank you for making all of these awesome videos Brad! I really enjoy watching awesome videos about my favorite teams!
Your welcome and thank you for the comment more to come soon :)
Let's go KU. Rock Chalk!!!
Gives me goosebumps every time I watch this. Thanks for sharing!

I love the audio from THE Bob Davis. I like Brian Hanni, but Davis was incredible.
Rock Chalk!
RCJH
I graduated from KU, Rock Chalk for life.

Is that a shot of 12-13 year old Tyler Self @8:50
Yes it is how cool is that?
13:02 the only time I’ve seen a thousand people with the same facial expression. Including the players 😂😂
"they've hit their freethrows when they needed to" jinxed them lmao ROCK CHALK
straight up the Phog was with us that night...3 missed free throws in a row that woulda sealed it.
I miss bob davis...the announcers we have some of these games now are atrocious.
yes. too nasally
Bill Walton makes me want to jump out a window every time he’s commentating a KU game
Collins stealing the in bounds pass and making the three point shot was just as big as Mario's miracle.
feeling much cooler thanks kansas and buddies
Not that big of a KU fan, I'm actually planning to attend Pitt State, but wow I can't help but root for them after seeing this and especially how they've been playing this year.
Love Sherron Collins. He was just chilling, sitting on court after passing it off to Mario. He sat and watched the 3pointer go in.
Awesome Brad!!
Another great video, Brad
I really appreciate it.

One of the most exciting and least talked about national championship game
Mario’s miracle
You've used the middle part a lot but a still love it!
PS great vid
Yeah i know, but this one had to have it for what we attained at the end of the night. I am glad you liked it.
'Championship teams make Championship plays'! @DerekRose. I will never Forget the announcer!! Game still makes me happy :)#KU
Very professional video, thanks!! And just to add, bob Davis may have had the greatest call of his life.
Nothing better than March Madness!!
I remember watching this by myself I was going crazy with my lil dog lol.
We won $1060 on a radio contest because Kansas pulled this out. We were astonished!
My dad's old job used to have March Madness Bracket Challenge. It was open to the families too. This was the only year that I won the thing and it came down to this game. Thank you
Kansas is the most clutch state! The Royals, KU, and the Chiefs.
24 to 8 run the last 2 minutes and the 5 minutes of overtime to end the game that's crazy
good video
Free throws decided this game and the Jayhawks were just better! #RockChalk
Do KU vs Missouri 2012
That isn't a bad idea. I probably couldn't find the Bob Davis audio, but Billy Packard was a good commentator too! Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks for the suggestion I ended up doing one awhile back. Here you go :) th-cam.com/video/b-Oy9AhwYdY/w-d-xo.html
That was the loudest game I had been to at Allen. I have been to many since, but I still think that one tops them all. My 10 year old nephew was in complete shock during the last 20 minutes.
KU only missed one free throw in this game, and it was the first one.
Far cry from the '03 championship game when they were 14-30 from the line.
Free....Throws....Win....Championships!!!! :)
I mean hinrich and Collison were no Chalmers and rush
@@razkable Yeah... they were better if anything
You had to bring that game up...
8:50 Tyler Self when he was 13 or something
Didn't Chalmers step on the three point line on that last three in regulation?
Nope
4:17 If Derrick Rose puts his foot six inches backward. Kansas loses.
PHOG

Im a Mizzou fan but as a Royals fan Bob Davis can't announce baseball to save his life
I am sorry, but I disagree with this which I know you are entitled to your own opionion. Bob Davis was an icon for the Royals, and the Jayhawks. I grew up listening to him and Max Falkenstein doing play by play for the Royals and the Jayhawks.
KU easy win when you play 8 on 5....one of only 4 teams that can be 16-16 for the season and still get a #1 or #2 seed in the tournament. NCAA is BS.
