    Hey Captain Lee
    of all the years i've been watching
    Andertons,
    this is the best playing i have
    ever heard you play.

  • @thorwulfx1

    It seems like the Captain doesn't feel rushed when he plays with Pete, and consequently does some of his best work.

      I had looked away at first, and when I looked back I was surprised by who was playing lead .... such a nice intro.

      Ha I did exactly the same and had exactly the same reaction :)

      Patrick Tracy I think it's cause him and cap play similar blues music while rob plays generally more rock stuff.

    • @tankgrrl
      @tankgrrl 8 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      I get that too. I think maybe, and no offense to Rob meant by this, Rob plays a bit too long sometimes. Fair enough that it seems to be he's listening and noodling with whatever gear it is, but it often means Lee is sitting there waiting for him to be done. Pete plays a bit, stops, reacts, maybe plays a but more, but there's more air left free to talk (or move on.)

    • @HARwinsOUTagain
      @HARwinsOUTagain 8 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      I agree fully. Chappers is great. But he just....noodles and noodles and shreds all day long. It's too much sometimes. The Captain has a completely different style and it's difficult for him to jam off of all the shred.

    I think the best compliment one can give to a musician is to spontaneously laugh at something they just played. That reflex to laugh when you hear something exceptional is uncontrollable gratitude for having heard it. You two, in particular, react to each other in that manner and it is as much a joy to see as it is to hear both of your playing.

    So. This amp has Headphone out, Linee out, an effects loop, a USB out, AND an Expression pedal input alongside a stomp pedal input *and* it doesn't sound too bad to boot for *less than $400?????* This is literally the amplifier of my dreams.

    I'm a tube guy through and through, but broke down yesterday and got an older MK I 100W. I mean it's never gonna sway away fully away from tubed amps, but it's pretty damned nice for what it does do.
    I was too pooped yesterday to give it a real go, but definitely gave it quite the workout today.

      Well, it's certainly not a metal amp but its clean sound was great and it took pedals well. It was well suited for a lot of stuff in the 80s. The chorus saved it. Dry, it was not a warm sound at all. But it was of its time.

    THANK YOU, Lee and Pete, for turning me on to this amp. My main rig is an Orange Rocker 32 and a pile of pedals, but the Orange really needs to be turned up and “breathe” to do its thing. The Katana 100 1x12 couldn’t be a more perfect amp. Ridiculously affordable, takes pedals well, great built in FX, loop, USB, line out... It’s perfect. Tone is right up there with my Yamaha THR10C, more than ample volume. I don’t think there’s a better amp to be had, tube or solid state, for $350 USD.

    Concluded a month+ of research yesterday by finally purchasing one. All I can say is wow,just wow. I'm not quite sure why but the guitar gods were pleased enough to bless us with this angel. I don't want to call it just an amplifier cause it's so much more than that. I havent even had it for 24 hours yet and I cant stop playing around with it. The versatility and tones you can get with this thing are mind-numbing. Blows many tube amps I've owned/played out of the water. For half the price. If you needed any further positive thoughts on purchasing this before you buy it like I did well here you go! Cheers👌🤘

    As a hobbyist I called in a shop today and tried this amp. For the money it's probably the best in it's class. I'm a bit of a valve snob, but this is a great sounding 'Not Valve' amp. And trust me, I've had everything from Fender Twins to Marshall stacks over the years. Easily usable in small gigs, very usable effects without using the software. The ultimate bedroom amp. And the price? £235. You can't go wrong.

    Both sound great !! but Captain? wow I never realized you could REALLY play, but recently YOUR tasty chops have gotten so much better over the last year or so, all that all that practise has not gone to waste. the huge improvement in your playing is something most of us intermediate players can realistically aspire too.I am in no way knocking Chappers who is a great guy and monster player but let's face it most of us will NEVER be able to play in his league. Thanks for so many great reviews over the years RW NJ USA

    Much more mellow without the other lad. The Captain is better than I thought.

    Light, loud and sweet sounding small gig amp...Fender Super Champ Xd or X2 is the valve/tube solution for me! 15 watts and 22lbs at $399 new! Tube hybrid tones! This thing looks pretty sweet too!

    It's gotta be intimidating playing with Pete, but great job Lee. That's some tasty playing, and you guys are getting seriously good tones out of this amp. I own a THR and it's a fantastic practice/bedroom amp, this looks to be just as good if not better. Love to see a comparison of bedroom/practice amps similar to the lunchbox combo head that Bea did.
