🤤 I love watching things being restored! We live in such a disposable society, but if we worked on restoring things instead of tossing them, we'd have some real treasures! ☺️
Absolutely- it's a totally different thing but I like to buy used lace wigs for super cheap, fix them up so they're like new, and then sell them at a fraction of the original cost. Or sometimes I'll give them away or sell them even cheaper to someone who is dealing with hair loss through chemo/alopecia who can't afford to buy them brand new. I also really like restoring and also sometimes modifying vintage clothing that were not in the best shape so that they're wearable again. It's do nice to breathe new life back into something that would likely end up being thrown away otherwise.
@@Snatch698so are you saying that the person who made this video didn't really restore the original object to that brand new looking condition? did they replace the main component with an entirely different, non rusted piece? i really thought they brought something back to life that most people would have just trashed
@@dahliacheung6020I don't know where you live but there are locations all around the globe named "Repair Cafes". each location has a group of volunteers who specialize in repairing things & they meet regularly at a designated location. some groups meet at a church hall, empty warehouse, an empty store in a strip mall etc every Saturday, once a month (whatever works best for that particular location). the general public can take their broken items in & the volunteers try to fix your item for free. they fix clocks, lamps, coffee makers, laptops, vacuum cleaners.. whatever you've got they will try to fix. they might not be able to fix everything but any item that is saved from going into a landfill is a win!! also, there is an entire mall in Sweden that sells only recycled goods. so you know anything you buy from there is something that you have bought ethically. the mall also provided jobs to people in an area where the unemployment rate was high so it's a win for the local people as well. i know my comment is long & I apologize but I just wanted to comment you for the part that you play in being environmentally friendly with your wig and clothing repair. They put them in chemicals and "rust" them in a short time. If it were real a) it wouldn't have been brass and 2) rust would have eaten into the metal- creating little dots that carve the metal out when removesld. It's fake as hell.
