Yes. I usually keep the soil moist when using the temperature probe. I am guessing that it is fairly weather resistant but I don't think it would be good for taking water temperature. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment.
I just received my Vivisun 'Heat Mat and Digital Thermostat Combo" and I can't get the numbers to stop blinking or to change it to read as Fahrenheit. Is there a trick or should I assume that it is a faulty device?
At 7:08 when you are not in set mode, up for Fahrenheit, down for Celcius. The Set button should take you in and out of set mode for determining the temp you want to keep it at.
It rolls up, so I guess you could go around the edge of the pot with it. I'm not sure if it would help a lot that way, just because he doesn't put off a lot of heat, just surface heat. It's not like a radiator. Also, even with it being water resistant and such, I'm not sure it would be a good idea to keep it in the dirt for a long period of time.
i hold the set button for 3 seconds, scroll to my temp then try to click to set it and it won’t. so i hold for 3 seconds. It sets, but it does not heat up at all. I waited 30 minutes still won’t heat up. all the dials work
@@leisurelylogan I see the numbers,. everything turns on I set both my pads to 105 and came back 30 minutes to them still sitting at 65 degrees. The thermometer is in a incubation tub not dirt.

@@leisurelylogan the room is 55-60 degrees, the pads get a little warm but don’t feel like much, I have a heater in there rn that boosted the room to 70
@@jayt.223 I would have to test out my pads to see if they can get up that high. But, it sounds like they are working, but just won't get really hot. You might want to try moving the thermostat around to see if that makes a difference. Vivosun has a reptile/terrarium pad, which they advertise differently than the seedling pad I am using. I don't know if that really makes a difference, because they get up to the same temperature. But, it might be heating differently to handle the open space. Since the thermostat isn't connected to the heat mat, you should be able to use a Zoo Med or any other brand heat mat. The thermostat just takes the heat reading from where you place it and turns off/on anything power connected to it when the temperature is reached.
Yes. It is a standard electrical splitter. The temperature controller just turns that plug on and off, so a splitter is safe as if you were using for any other powered cord connection.
@@ViralV-b8n I'm sure the pad would warm and area, but it really doesn't do more than that. It doesn't feel like it could warm anything more than what it is touching.
@@ViralV-b8n I wouldn't put them straight on the mat and you have to figure out how long you want the mat on. The temperature control I use goes into the dirt, so I don't think it will work for you needs. It just turns the mat on and off, so you would have to determine how much "on" is good for your snake.
I'd like to know where to get the weather flow meter he's using. Can't find one that tells humidity and temperature, only the one for wind
@@snowman1064 there is a WEATHERmeter on Amazon. It was the basic device when I got it years ago.
Just to verify, this setup did work for both mats?
Correct. The controller is basically just on and off, so the reading on one probe controls both.
@@leisurelylogan thank you Brother! We just ordered 4 and got a 4 way outlet splitter 😅

My ipower thermostat doesn't seem to adjust. Any suggestions. Says Green Light should be on.
I'm not familiar with the iPower thermostat.
Some thing require you to hold a set button in for 3 or so seconds before it is ready to start adjusting.
I am having a hard time setting my vivo thermostat and didn't get any instructions in the box any help would be appreciated
Can you be a little more specific? Did you hold in the Set button to give you access to move the temperature up or down?

How high of heat does the thermostat go?
The thermostat does 5-42 C° / 40-105 F°. The mat itself is just on or off, I think. I don't think it has different degrees of heating.
Do you place thermostat into the dirt of one of cells or leave it above the dirt exposed to air on the tray covered by dome
Fully in the dirt of a cell near the middle.

what temp would you set for indoor use?
Ground temperature for outdoor planting is usually around 50 F, so anywhere over that should do fine. I think peppers like much warmer.
