Wow exactly my thoughts. Physics and mathematics is very simple compared to biology. I came to the conclusion biology plays with physics the way we play with math, which makes it very difficult to predict and understand

I can plot trajectories across the stars, how the stara form, hell i can make a star here on earth. I can tell you the age of the universe. In the same breath I cannot tell you in a fundamental level how a cell transcribes genes, I cannot tell you how the proteins are transported and constructed, I cannot tell you how a protein is folded, I cannot tell you how a cell structures it's self, I cannot tell you how all this produces consciousness, I cannot explain the quantum mechanical effects of biology and how cells utilize it. My point isn't that we don't know per se, as there are things we don't know about physics. But my point is more so to showcase that to understand how these biology systems fully function is nearly impossible due to the complexity. I can breakdown the solar system and its functions and interactions much more easily then I can explain a drop of blood.
@@armaniwebb4467 I'm a head and neck cancer surgeon. I find what I do pretty basic compared to what you do, general relativity and quantum and what's going to be next. I study undergrad physics in those two in my free time and my mind boggles at the complexities.
I had heard of NMN on another podcast about a year ago. I then dud a little research and started taking NMN. I found out it that it has changed my life for the better. My anxiety had pretty much gone away. My energy is by far more focused, and for the most part, I feel great. I have other heath issues that dragged me down prio to NMN. I've tried many supplements and haven't had any luck, but NMN is doing wonders for me. I have bought a year supply since places have quit selling the product.

Second comment: I want to add that I am following much of your protocol and I have so much energy it is incredible! I am relatively young (33), but have been dealing with fatigue for a long time. Particularly the day after intense exercise (BJJ). I have trouble focusing and getting through the day even with heavily optimized sleep. I am currently alternating between 16 and 22 hour fasts. When I do eat, it is mostly a low protein, high carb, plant based food (with some junk thrown in because I'm human and still working on things). I am taking NMN, resveratrol and Metformin. And I feel like a million bucks! I am recovering well, focused, creativity is up. I am honestly shocked and hope this is able to sustain itself for the next few months (I do not plan on doing all of this indefinitely).

Thank you for all your hard work Dr. Sinclair. I listened to your channel and then went out and bought resveratrol and yogurt. I've been taking it for a few days now (along with NMN and metformin) and I'm feeling great. But then I get a video on my feed from Dr Brad Stanfield saying that resveratrol is harmful to humans. Now I'm confused. Still taking the resveratrol with my yogurt, but I'm a little worried. Will my daily metformin dosages overcome any issues with resveratrol?
What you said about NAD levels and alcohol just proved that my supplements are working. I’m not a drinker but when occasionally I have some alcohol I feel very bad next day. Last week I had few too many drinks and the next day I was feeling pretty well. Still had little hangover but wasn’t sick.

In that interview with Dr. Patrick he mentions that young mice lived longer if the protocol was pulsed rather than if they received the supplements daily, but he doesn't pulse his own protocol. Is that because he's middle aged and every day is more efficacious, or did you come away thinking that the pulsing is an emerging idea which he is still vetting before switching his own protocol
As a person without any medical background I really wonder how to check my body response to the supplements recommended in this podcast🤷🏻♀️. I would like to know what blood parameters/blood tests I should check before taking the supplements and when to check out the results by retesting. My kind wish is to have the professor’s opinion whether the recommended supplements are safe for people with celiac disease? Could you also recommend supplements for people with serious problems with knees (deficiency of collagen and how to reverse that ?) My biggest takeaway: the conversation about mice being predisposed to cancer (certain type(?)) and NMN stimulating cancer growth (as in the 2019 study that was discussed). It feels as though that wasn't given enough emphasis, should I be cancelling my order for NMN?
It stimulates it because if the body inside is younger cancer would also act as if it is in younger body, but then again, if you don't take nmn you will get older faster and chances to get cancer and other increse...

Add to that hair regrowth issue: are the topicals used to increase eyebrow regrowth safe? I have used Beverly Hills Dr. Brow and in about 3 months it started to regrow , by 6 months even helper regrow the outer halves of my brows. So it works even if I don't, after 1.5 years, have the thick brows of my youth. Still, worth the bother. Amaz. Has much less expensive versions, but I do not know how to judge them nor have I found associated effectiveness studies.

Yes definitely also you have to look at GMP and 3rd party test one. Alive by science US is one of the best & they use the same supplier from China we learned from youtube podcasters. But they don't have White trans one until Mid March they told me. Donotage is good and their prices are good as well. I will order from them this time my trans-resveratrol. Please provide a public response to Dr. Brad Stanfield on Resveratrol. Dr. Stanfield has presented clear evidence of later studies that suggest that Resveratrol does not have the effects you claim, and could actually be harmful. After this much advertisement of Resveratrol, it is your duty and responsibility to clarify the issue in detail. If Dr. Singclair does not respond, it only makes everyone more suspicious of him advertising Resveratrol for personal financial gain. I hope it's resolved soon.

Hi David! I’ve been implementing what you suggest (I haven’t yet implemented supplements yet) and I feel a lot better! One of the things I’ve done that’s helped a lot is actually something you haven’t mentioned in the podcast yet. I took a food sensitivity test and cut out the foods that tested positive for sensitivities. Milk was apparently causing me muscle and joint inflammation as well as stomach problems.

NR consistently raised my alt and ast liver enzymes during a year's worth of regular blood tests. NMN lowered my enzymes even lower than they were before taking NR in the first place.

@@larnapike6992 under my 23 and me account, I don't see anything that would indicate a propensity for that or any other form of cancer. There are others who've had this issue with NR, since NR requires additional methyl groups in order to be converted into a usable form. To get these methyl groups, your body has to borrow them from other molecules in the body, taxing the liver more. Which by the way, I'm discussing the liver, not the pancreas. As far as my pancreas goes, all of those health numbers, such as A1C are optimal.

I love this podcast, and the format. However, I was wondering if there is room for special episodes where you have another researcher alongside you that might be able to add some criticism or another perspective to the research. I came across Dr Rhonda Patrick's video on Metformin for healthy people who exercise, and she seems less enthusiastic about the research. I finally found a review of the literature from last year that gave me a better understanding, but I was wondering if you could make this more efficient. My thought is, maybe you can have someone like Dr Rhonda Patrick on, and discuss a set topic that neither of you too fully agree on, like Metformin. Not to debate necessarily, but to get a more complete view and really flesh out the current state of the research from multiple angles. Matt can still be the moderator, he's great!
David, I would be very interested in a video documenting your father’s use of these longevity products and how he is doing. I am a woman in her late 70s and am interested in how older people are responding to these supplements . TH-cam videos seem to be posted by middle age men and much younger women. It appears as more a vanity thing than someone seriously interested in longevity.

The cancer issue with NMN and NAD was casually mentioned in this video. This is a big problem according to more recent research. For example, see Dr Brad Stanfield's video on why he stopped taking it and why he focuses on decreasing senescent cells instead (via fasting, etc.). He also takes fisetin and quercetin to reduce senescent cells, which coincidentally Dr. Sinclair now does as well (perhaps he's worried about cancer). Either way, use extreme caution here!

My mom is 68 and never feeling old. Her retirement has been more fruitful and productive. My mom doesn’t have any age-linked issues even the minor ones. She still hikes with her friends. My grandma is 85, and still very strong and mentally alert. No medical issues except mild joint pains that come occasionally. They’re both very healthy and happy. Still can participate long family travels and visit one country a year. Thanks to NMN supplement by Vitruvin Nutrition. Age is just a number!
This is exceptionally interesting. I wonder if there are any studies addressing the additivity of the benefits of different supplements! If two different supplements increase the lifespan of mice by say 30% each, what is the combined effect of the two?
I started taking NMN about 5 years ago after reading an article online from David Sinclair. I think I took it sublingually right off as I read that much more of it would reach my blood stream that way than simply swallowing it. A year or two ago the company I was buying my NMN from (Renue by Science) came out with liposomal products that allow a substantially higher portion of the product to get into your blood stream than their sublingual products. The liposomal process prevents NMN from being digested into NAM and the possible harmful effects that can have on your liver.
Prof. Elena Goun, a chemist at the University of Missouri: ,,High levels of NR can increase the risk of aggressive breast cancer and the likelihood of metastases, including to the brain" !!!😮☹😟

Thanks for all your work - When you were on Huberman's podcast, you briefly mentioned that taking Resveratrol on alternating days produced better results in mice based on a specific study, and that the beneficial effects could even be mitigated by daily intake. But I've also heard you talk about it being in your daily stack, as you've mentioned here. Could you elaborate/clarify whether you think a daily or alternating intake could produce a significant difference in potential effectiveness of Resveratrol ?
As a follow up - Dr Sinclair mentioned pulsing with exercise too. Does that mean one day on and one day off? Do you do the same thing with NAD boosters?

Maybe, you should consider creating short clips out of those podcasts to bring more people to podcast? Most people don't have time to watch 1 hour long podcast to check if it's good or not. I think most people that watch your podcasts are already familiar with what you do and how good they are. But we should spread the world so more people are aware what you can do today to prolong your life. Keep doing the great work!
Dear Dr. Sinclair. I suppose you test for NAD to check the effects of resveratrol, NMN and Spermidine. What are the marker to look for regarding the supplements that aim at mTOR reduction (Fisetin, Quercetin) and AMPK aktivation (Metformin)?
It's difficult to evaluate something with no visible consequences, but the research points to a positive outcome. It's probably best to utilize while you're under physical duress. This product has met my expectations in that it has made me feel more energetic in the morning and throughout the day since I started using it. I'll keep taking Vitruvin Health Anti-aging supplement since it keeps me energetic throughout the day.
I am marco from Italy, I have already read your book and I have found it fantastic! Naturally all your suggestion are focused on US market, I hope one day you'll have also some suggestion about italian or european provider for blood rest, dna test etc. Supplement are quite easy to find though.
Correction***- The study referenced for spermidine and cognitive decline was dosed 1.2(mg) not measured in grams. 1 gram has not been studied in humans and possibly be detrimental by over-activation of autophagy in some tissues and cell lines.
@@jeffteer222 I believe he is taking wheat germ extract-800mg which equates to 1mg of spermidine. Most people aren't aware of the potential harm of suggesting 1 gram of spermidine, it is an irresponsible error that must be addressed.

I am a physicist by education. I used to think the biology was an easy subject. Not any more. Listening to this very interesting podcast, I marvel at the complexity of biological systems. Wow exactly my thoughts. Physics and mathematics is very simple compared to biology. I came to the conclusion biology plays with physics the way we play with math, which makes it very difficult to predict and understand

@@creativesource3514 perhaps. But it is an elementary matter. I can explain to you the orbits of planets, their gravitational pull, their magnetic sphere. I can plot trajectories across the stars, how the stara form, hell i can make a star here on earth. I can tell you the age of the universe.
In the same breath I cannot tell you in a fundamental level how a cell transcribes genes, I cannot tell you how the proteins are transported and constructed, I cannot tell you how a protein is folded, I cannot tell you how a cell structures it's self, I cannot tell you how all this produces consciousness, I cannot explain the quantum mechanical effects of biology and how cells utilize it.
My point isn't that we don't know per se, as there are things we don't know about physics. But my point is more so to showcase that to understand how these biology systems fully function is nearly impossible due to the complexity. I can breakdown the solar system and its functions and interactions much more easily then I can explain a drop of blood.

I had heard of NMN on another podcast about a year ago.
I then dud a little research and started taking NMN. I found out it that it has changed my life for the better. My anxiety had pretty much gone away. My energy is by far more focused, and for the most part, I feel great.
I have other heath issues that dragged me down prio to NMN. I've tried many supplements and haven't had any luck, but NMN is doing wonders for me.
I have bought a year supply since places have quit selling the product.
I really enjoy these two and how well they get along. I learn so much in each of their podcasts.
Love this series of episodes. Very informative and hopeful for those of us in their 70s. Vanity would have driven my interest before, now it is quality of life. Especially cognitive function as I'm watching friends in their late 70s and 80s, mentally declining. Not all but so many.

Second comment: I want to add that I am following much of your protocol and I have so much energy it is incredible! I am relatively young (33), but have been dealing with fatigue for a long time. Particularly the day after intense exercise (BJJ). I have trouble focusing and getting through the day even with heavily optimized sleep. I am currently alternating between 16 and 22 hour fasts. When I do eat, it is mostly a low protein, high carb, plant based food (with some junk thrown in because I'm human and still working on things). I am taking NMN, resveratrol and Metformin. And I feel like a million bucks! I am recovering well, focused, creativity is up. I am honestly shocked and hope this is able to sustain itself for the next few months (I do not plan on doing all of this indefinitely).

I've been taking it for a few days now (along with NMN and metformin) and I'm feeling great. But then I get a video on my feed from Dr Brad Stanfield saying that resveratrol is harmful to humans. Now I'm confused. Still taking the resveratrol with my yogurt, but I'm a little worried. Will my daily metformin dosages overcome any issues with resveratrol?

What you said about NAD levels and alcohol just proved that my supplements are working. I’m not a drinker but when occasionally I have some alcohol I feel very bad next day. Last week I had few too many drinks and the next day I was feeling pretty well. Still had little hangover but wasn’t sick.
Why drink? Who in their right mind drinks alcohol? Its not fun or good at all and everyone knows most people drink and do stupid things and feel stupid the next day- so WHY?

Important to emphasize ‘the threshold level’ as David discussed in his interview with Rhonda Patrick PhD , the ‘natural clearing process ‘ of the body that will eliminate NMN supplements , Resveratrol from the body - and David’s idea of ‘pulsing ‘ these supplements every other day , then fasting and exercising
In that interview with Dr. Patrick he mentions that young mice lived longer if the protocol was pulsed rather than if they received the supplements daily, but he doesn't pulse his own protocol. Is that because he's middle aged and every day is more efficacious, or did you come away thinking that the pulsing is an emerging idea which he is still vetting before switching his own protocol
As a person without any medical background I really wonder how to check my body response to the supplements recommended in this podcast🤷🏻♀️. I would like to know what blood parameters/blood tests I should check before taking the supplements and when to check out the results by retesting.

My biggest takeaway: the conversation about mice being predisposed to cancer (certain type(?)) and NMN stimulating cancer growth (as in the 2019 study that was discussed). It feels as though that wasn't given enough emphasis, should I be cancelling my order for NMN?
It stimulates it because if the body inside is younger cancer would also act as if it is in younger body, but then again, if you don't take nmn you will get older faster and chances to get cancer and other increse...

Add to that hair regrowth issue: are the topicals used to increase eyebrow regrowth safe? I have used Beverly Hills Dr. Brow and in about 3 months it started to regrow , by 6 months even helper regrow the outer halves of my brows. So it works even if I don't, after 1.5 years, have the thick brows of my youth. Still, worth the bother. Amaz. Has much less expensive versions, but I do not know how to judge them nor have I found associated effectiveness studies.

If you can not get Metformin.... Is quercetin plus fisetin in combination a good backup plan.... Already doing resveratrol and NMN. It is hard as a lay person to understand some of the details... Appreciate all of your efforts to reach average people like me.
Please provide a public response to Dr. Brad Stanfield on Resveratrol. Dr. Stanfield has presented clear evidence of later studies that suggest that Resveratrol does not have the effects you claim, and could actually be harmful. After this much advertisement of Resveratrol, it is your duty and responsibility to clarify the issue in detail. If Dr. Singclair does not respond, it only makes everyone more suspicious of him advertising Resveratrol for personal financial gain. I hope it's resolved soon.

Hi David! I’ve been implementing what you suggest (I haven’t yet implemented supplements yet) and I feel a lot better! One of the things I’ve done that’s helped a lot is actually something you haven’t mentioned in the podcast yet. I took a food sensitivity test and cut out the foods that tested positive for sensitivities. Milk was apparently causing me muscle and joint inflammation as well as stomach problems.
How does one go about taking a test like this?

NR consistently raised my alt and ast liver enzymes during a year's worth of regular blood tests. NMN lowered my enzymes even lower than they were before taking NR in the first place.

@@larnapike6992 under my 23 and me account, I don't see anything that would indicate a propensity for that or any other form of cancer. There are others who've had this issue with NR, since NR requires additional methyl groups in order to be converted into a usable form. To get these methyl groups, your body has to borrow them from other molecules in the body, taxing the liver more. Which by the way, I'm discussing the liver, not the pancreas. As far as my pancreas goes, all of those health numbers, such as A1C are optimal.

However, I was wondering if there is room for special episodes where you have another researcher alongside you that might be able to add some criticism or another perspective to the research. I came across Dr Rhonda Patrick's video on Metformin for healthy people who exercise, and she seems less enthusiastic about the research. I finally found a review of the literature from last year that gave me a better understanding, but I was wondering if you could make this more efficient. My thought is, maybe you can have someone like Dr Rhonda Patrick on, and discuss a set topic that neither of you too fully agree on, like Metformin. Not to debate necessarily, but to get a more complete view and really flesh out the current state of the research from multiple angles. Matt can still be the moderator, he's great!

The cancer issue with NMN and NAD was casually mentioned in this video. This is a big problem according to more recent research. For example, see Dr Brad Stanfield's video on why he stopped taking it and why he focuses on decreasing senescent cells instead (via fasting, etc.). My mom is 68 and never feeling old. Her retirement has been more fruitful and productive. My mom doesn’t have any age-linked issues even the minor ones. She still hikes with her friends. My grandma is 85, and still very strong and mentally alert. No medical issues except mild joint pains that come occasionally. They’re both very healthy and happy. Still can participate long family travels and visit one country a year. Thanks to NMN supplement by Vitruvin Nutrition. Age is just a number!
This is exceptionally interesting. I wonder if there are any studies addressing the additivity of the benefits of different supplements! If two different supplements increase the lifespan of mice by say 30% each, what is the combined effect of the two?
I started taking NMN about 5 years ago after reading an article online from David Sinclair. I think I took it sublingually right off as I read that much more of it would reach my blood stream that way than simply swallowing it. A year or two ago the company I was buying my NMN from (Renue by Science) came out with liposomal products that allow a substantially higher portion of the product to get into your blood stream than their sublingual products. The liposomal process prevents NMN from being digested into NAM and the possible harmful effects that can have on your liver.

Thanks for all your work - When you were on Huberman's podcast, you briefly mentioned that taking Resveratrol on alternating days produced better results in mice based on a specific study, and that the beneficial effects could even be mitigated by daily intake. But I've also heard you talk about it being in your daily stack, as you've mentioned here. Could you elaborate/clarify whether you think a daily or alternating intake could produce a significant difference in potential effectiveness of Resveratrol ?
As a follow up - Dr Sinclair mentioned pulsing with exercise too. Does that mean one day on and one day off? Do you do the same thing with NAD boosters?

Maybe, you should consider creating short clips out of those podcasts to bring more people to podcast? Most people don't have time to watch 1 hour long podcast to check if it's good or not. I think most people that watch your podcasts are already familiar with what you do and how good they are. But we should spread the world so more people are aware what you can do today to prolong your life. Keep doing the great work!
Dear Dr. Sinclair. I suppose you test for NAD to check the effects of resveratrol, NMN and Spermidine. What are the marker to look for regarding the supplements that aim at mTOR reduction (Fisetin, Quercetin) and AMPK aktivation (Metformin)?
It's difficult to evaluate something with no visible consequences, but the research points to a positive outcome. It's probably best to utilize while you're under physical duress. This product has met my expectations in that it has made me feel more energetic in the morning and throughout the day since I started using it. I'll keep taking Vitruvin Health Anti-aging supplement since it keeps me energetic throughout the day.
I wait for these videos as if my life depends on them. Wait, it does!

Correction***- The study referenced for spermidine and cognitive decline was dosed 1.2(mg) not measured in grams. 1 gram has not been studied in humans and possibly be detrimental by over-activation of autophagy in some tissues and cell lines.
Is David taking 1 gram of spermidine?

Most people aren't aware of the potential harm of suggesting 1 gram of spermidine, it is an irresponsible error that must be addressed.
