This is so fun! I would highly recommend going to the dollar store for a lot of essentials. They have little trash bins, food containers, kitchen basics. Obviously they won't last forever, but they're good if youre a student and have a tight budget. Most of my dollar store items got me through four years of college

Tips for apartment shopping:
Stock up on things you will never know you need, until they are gone:
Light bulbs, batteries, toilet paper, cat food, first aid stuff like bandaids, polysporin, tools are a must, tape in all kinds (duct tape, scotch tape, electrician’s tape etc), bucket (for that moment when you try to open up a pipe under your sink to get something your kitten knocked down the drain, and the pipe crumbles due to rust. :D Yes, this happened to me, and yes, I am lucky I had a bucket to put under the open drain above). The list goes on! OMG-it’s SO MUCH FUN though!! Also, always have a flash light. Those are much appreciated when power goes out.

For your fruits and vegetables I suggest the Tupperware fridgesmart. It's been 2 years now that I have had it and it saved the life of my fruits and vegetables. It keeps them crisp for like 1 to 2 months (if you haven't already eaten them). You can only order them online and its a bit expensive but its so worth it. Otherwise the other Tupperware are also exceptional and very useful for storage. I love your videos and can't wait for you to go to your apartment!

your videos have brought me so much joy this past month since I have recently started college again and have been desperately struggling to find the motivation to stay on top of my shit...
anyway... you're amazing!! *MWAH*
These are just some things ive learned when living on my own! It sounds crazy but the dollar store has a lot of great cooking utensils that are the same brand as the one in target, i know you already got most of that stuff but for the future. Im not sure how far ur moving but you can ship stuff on the greyhound bus I did when i moved to cali and it was a lot cheaper. Kettles are a life saver! ikea has some great mattress for a good price. If your apt doesn’t pay for water and you have a washer in ur apt be mindful bc water bill can get up there really fast (i learned my lesson i like longggg showers) . Im not big on cable so i got at&t internet and just used an hdmi for my tv. Internet was around $50 a month. Ooo if ur apt doesnt have you pay rent online its best you get checks from your bank or a money order but if u do a money order and ur in the city try and go before 1st-2nd of the month bc the banks will be packed ( u dont have to do this but i did whenever my parents came to visit my made sure i had no food so they would stock my fridge up before they left😂). Thats all i can think of for now, i moved out when i was 18-20 i learned alot so if u need any advice i got you! And i wish u all the luck finding ur place❤️
I moved into my first apartment earlier this year and these are my tips for you so far:
- the farberware knife set is not worth it in my opinion. I got a set for my bridal shower and it was a $60 set and they rusted after the first wash. If you get a Brillo pad and scrub the rust off it’s fine, but for “high quality” knives you shouldn’t have to do that lol.
- get another cooking rack for baking because I always find that I make too many cookies or pastries and I regret not getting two haha
- I did all of my shopping at target and I believe I got the same towels as you :) make sure you wash them on warm because I didn’t and after the first wash they all looked like they had bleach stains on them but I don’t even use bleach. Just an fyi :)
