@@feloniusdude1698 LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I found them when I listened to their darker stuff, but most of their newer stuff I thought was not as good as this darker material. Love that they are coming back to my personal favorite era of their music.
"I could give you the world but you'd poison the seas" is a line that goes so hard on a song that's already an absolute banger.
I can't lie, this song hits pretty close to home for me. This is already rising up the list as one of my all-time favorite songs by my all-time favorite band! Fantastic work!!

Yes I’m soooo obsessed I love this song and will listen to it all day and even longer! Thank u for this amazing piece! It sounds like a part of the story with: “wolf in sheep’s clothing”, “I’ll sleep when I’m dead”, “Nightmare”, “Midnight thoughts”, “who’s in control”, and “cut off”, and now “Punching bag”. These and other songs I didn’t count tell so much of a mindset of a victim of abuse/bullying/broken heart etc. and how they finally break up the chains of their problems!

I haven’t even finished listening but I already love this song!
The reference to Why Worry with the tune and lyrics in the beginning gets me every time. I love it when SIO does that (ex. Unopened Windows ("walk through the halls, trace the walls...) and The Haunting (Love so alive, but it died...."). It's such a fun little wink-wink/nudge-nudge moment.
As someone who's had multiple bad relationships, all of which ended because I was tired of being taken advantage of, this is definitely making it to my playlist of therapeutic angry songs.
It's giving original Set It Off, it's giving Elsewhere, it's giving Cinematics, it's got all of Set It Off's signatures and I am loving it!
I have been listening to them since middle school and I feel that they have grown a lot alongside their older audience while pulling in a new one as well, absolutely love you guys!❤🎉

This is basically Crutch 2.0 and I'm here for it. Only hearing it once was enough to make it stick in my head. Also we know what a new single means, a full album is sure to follow at some point and I can't wait!
Actually now that I think about it, Crutch was about a one sided relationship and Punching Bag seems to be about an abusive relationship. ... So it could be either Crutch 2.0 or Crutch part 2, or the songs have nothing to do with each other. Whatever the case may be Cody deserves a hug. 🫂

I had fully given up on this band which sucked because they were like the soundtrack to my angsty adolescent years and I cherish the CInematics/Duality era. Midnight had some bangers but its been 4 years since then and almost a decade since Duality. I thought losing Dan was surely their death knell and until this song came out it looked like that.
But of course this dropped on the week that I lost 3 family members and was looking back on the songs that have helped me cope for a decade. HOLY FUCK this is the most welcome surprise of the year. THIS is the set if off that i fell in love with. I am beyond excited to see where these boys go from here. Welcome home.

Después de todo el estilo pop de las canciones de elsewhere que fue divertido, esta canción retorna al estilo principal de la banda, lo cual nunca dejara de gustar! sigan así y experimenten con otros estilos sin perder la esencia :D
No diría que es su estilo principal perse. Faltan elementos más orquestales acompañando al rock, aunque no es nada ajeno al estilo de Set it off esta canción. Por alguna razón me recuerda a la agresividad que tenía This Christmas en terminos de letra y en terminos de instrumental me recuerda a Hush hush, pero siendo más hard rock o hasta metal en esta ocasión.
Pero no soy un científico de música, ojala no llegue un mam4d0r a papearme por no haber estudiado música.

A mí me da vibes del álbum de horrible kids, muy de sus roots más punkys. Sí es cierto que faltan elementos orquestales que los hacían más rollo alternativo en algunas canciones, pero creo que justo por eso lo noto más punk rock crudo. Es un temazo 🔥

@@yukistork7388esto que están haciendo ahora es metalcore con elementos de pop, y de hecho son mucho más pesados que en sus primeras releases, habiendo escuchado poco de las primeras, pero antes hacían pop punk en el espectro pesado, esto que hacen es directamente Metalcore moderno, no muy pesado, pero definitivamente Metalcore del bueno y más duro que sus primeros álbumes (y me encanta, ojalá está banda siga por está línea). Si buscas más bandas con ese sonido pues está bad omens que es la que recomendaría ya que no son tan pesados, otra es falling in reverse

Oh this is a song I needed. I have been a people pleasing idiot for years, it literally broke my leg, and now I am so angry, and it’s just gotten to the point where I am like, “You wanted to see the monster? Well you got it,” and you are spot on, people pleasing is terrible for your health. I should know, 9 hours of surgery, two scars and learning to walk again, constant reminder.
