Whoever is behind this enlighten project deserve support and encouragement. Africa need help to wake up from religious darkness. Many children are suffering due to Africans' deep rooted sexual ignorance. The world is moving leaving us behind. Good god will need help to challenge our generalised lack of critical thinking.

I am a gay American who lived in Ghana for 4 years. I was told by many Africans that
homosexuality is a white man import and there was no homosexuality native to Africa. I know from personal experience that they were so wrong. Homosexuality exists in Africa just like everywhere else in the world. Thank you for this movie.
It's important to let everyone of the world know that love is love and all sexuality is a gift from God

The couple towards the end, Arista and Lisa, reminds me of when I was living with a man I'd met and fell in love with back in Chicago back in 1993. I met him at a bookstore. We went into a booth and jo one another. He didn't say a word to me during while we were in the act. Afterwards, he pulled up his pants and started to leave. I said, "For what it's worth, I'll be back here next Friday around 9pm. He left without saying a thing. Well, that whole week, I couldn't get my mind off of him. He consumed my thoughts 24/7. I couldn't wait until Friday. The days took so long, but Friday finally arrived. I got off work and cleaned my body form head to toe haircut and all. I arrived at the bookstore at around 8:30pm. I paid to go to the back and I waited. After a while, I realized it was 9:00pm. I was so anxious, but all that turned to disappointment when I noticed it was 9:05. I decided to leave. I was so hurt. I walked to the door to leave out and guess who was coming in. We locked eyes and my heart began to beat so fast. I tried to play if off. He saw I was leaving and he said, "Where you going?" I said, "Well, I only came for you, and after waiting, I didn't think you were coming. He said, "So you been here a while?" I wanted to lie, but I couldn't so I told him yes I made it at about 8:45pm. I realized I still told a lie. He said, "Are you free for a little bit?" I said, "Yea, I'm free." I thought to myself, this dude so ruggedly handsome. He just wanted to sit in his van and talk for a while. We finally introduced ourselves to one another. He told me he remembered the time I said I would be here, but he was little late, because it was hard for him to get out due to him being married. He told her he had to run to the store. He told me he couldn't get his mind off of me the entire week. My heart melted, because I went through the same. We just talked and exchanged pager numbers. I fell in love that night. He was vulnerable with me. He liked the fact that nobody could tell that I was gay, and he found me attractive. He said he battled all week trying to rid me out of his mind. I told him I was glad he didn't and decided to show up. We parted after about 20 minutes. I went home and thought about him for the rest of the night. Well, to make a even longer story shorter, we ended up lying to his wife, that I was a old college bud and I needed a place to stay. She was nice and ok with it. I was young and already in love him and he was in love with me. We both love hard, and our bond couldn't be broken. We started spending more time together, so that meant less time for her. She decided that they needed to see a marriage counselor. He didn't want to go, because he felt they were fine. I guess women can feel when something off with their husband. Well she decided to go by herself. That evening she called me from the basement. I ran upstairs and said what's up. She asked me flat out, "Are you sleeping with my husband." She caught me off guard, but in any case I said, "Hell no, why would you think that." She mentioned her marriage counselor asked about their relationship and if there was anything new in their lives. She told the counselor her husband old college buddy moved in with us about 2 months ago. She said the marriage counselor looked her dead in her eyes and said, "Girl, open your eyes, because your problem is living in your basement." She said she came straight home, and that's why she's asking me. I was like well that counselor wrong for putting that crap in your head. She looked at me and said ok well I'm sorry, but I had to ask. I ran back downstairs in a panic and paged you know who. He told me not to worry about it. When he got off work, I can hear her fussing at the front door yelling, "He has to move." I heard him yell back with so much force and aggression, "He ain't going no where!" Omg, I fell more in love with him than ever when I heard him say that to her. I was young, foolish, and selfish, and I wasn’t thinking about her feelings. She got in her car and went to church. He came in the house and ran down the steps to the basement to me with lovingly open arms. I told him I heard them fussing upstairs through the basement window. He said she can't prove we doing anything, other than what that marriage counselor put in her head. We embraced and held one another for a long time. He told me I'm never gone let you leave me, I’d rather die. I felt the same about him. I would’ve killed for him. At that moment, he had me mind, body, and spirit. We belonged to each other. He was my first love. She changed towards me somewhat after that. It was kind of hard for him, but he juggled making loving to both of us for about 2 years. Her mindset was like, I'm not going anywhere. She was never rude to me though and I was never rude to her. She still couldn't prove we were doing anything. He eventually stopped holding her at night and cuddling her. He made sure I could hear that he wasn’t making love to her too, because he purchased another baby monitor and hid the extra device under the bed in their bedroom. He wanted to prove to me that he wasn’t making love to her anymore. I could hear every single word in their bedroom. I could hear her pleading and asking him why he don’t wanna hold her anymore. He made up every kind of excuse he could think of. She was hurting. After a while, I started to feel sorry for her. I never even thought to take her feelings into consideration, because I was so in love with her husband. I really started feeling bad that I was sleeping with a married woman's husband. She’s the one who has papers on him, not me. I told him I was feeling bad about what we were doing, and that I think it’s best that I leave and move to Texas. His exact words in reply, "If you ever leave me, I'm gone kill myself. And besides, you feeling you should leave, not gone make me change and start loving her." I was so in love with him that man, that I couldn't bear the thought of him killing himself. He was serious, so I stayed. I didn’t want to leave him anyway. Well, after about another year, my conscious was still killing me, because of hearing her on that monitor. I told him again that I was moving, but I still love him. He threaten to kill himself once again. I told him, “Well I’m gone pray that you don’t do that, and that you think of your son sleeping in the other room. I pray that you understand one day. I will always love you.” I was a Night Auditor at a Hotel in Oakbrook Terrace in Chicago. I gave 2 weeks notice, left 3 weeks later heading to Houston, Texas. He drove down with me, since his job covered territories requiring that he travel. He’s a Scientist. That was in 1993. They're still married today and they’ve raised 3 amazing children, in which the oldest was a little boy when I was living there. After that, I vowed to never get involved with another married man again. It was draining and wrong. I definitely came across some who wanted to be with me, but I kept my word, out of respect for their wives. We can only live and learn. Btw, I’m 57 now, and though I’ve maintained several long relationships, none came even close to matching the love that I once shared with that man. I love him even still today. Our favorite place to eat was Lawrence’s Fish & Shrimp in Chicago.

@@ithastobeme85 Well he flew down to Houston to visit me in 1997 I believe, and that was the last time we’ve seen each other in person. We kept in touch for several years after that though. It became somewhat hard for us. The last time we talked on the phone was probably in 2000. He told me A had brought us both up and said, “Well W, several years have past and S gone, you can tell me the truth now, we’re you and S sleeping together? He told her, “No”, and left the room. I know where he lives in MI, from doing research, but I would never bother them. I often wondered if I was wrong for leaving him. I did miss him through the decades. When I would be in my kingsize bed some nights thinking of him, “I would put on our favorite song, “It Hurts Like Hell”, by Aretha Franklin. That was the last song we both wanted to hear when he came to Houston to visit me. He had to be back, the next day, so it was a one night trip from Chicago to Houston. That night, we both held each other all night long as that song played in the background. It was such a beautiful moment, that it became our song, just like Wesley Snipes and Angela Bassett in the movie. We both love hard, and our love was extremely strong for one another. We both held each other in our arms all night long. Nothing compares to 2 people being truly in love with one another. That type of love hurts like hell, so we had to be strong. We needed that same strength to move on with life. I left, because I put my feelings aside and I thought of his wife and son. That’s when I knew I grew up and understood the affects of ones actions. For every action there is a reaction. Life can be so unfair at times though. W was battling the religious aspect of it all, and so was I. I’m pass all that now, and I hope he’s freed himself as well. Nobody should have to live their lives on earth, just to please other human beings.

Speaking of 'pride', how about African people taking pride in the wearing of of traditional African garments and attire and cease this glorification of european designer labels, jeans, t-shirts, 3-piece suits, straightened hair, etc. Take pride in being who we are as African people!

@@maomao8410 Oh ye little mind! Your comment is based on ONE photo & one photo ONLY! I am a Vietnam veteran and the photo was taken at a meeting of Black Vietnam veterans, but does not show my dashiki that I am also wearing. I wear that cap ONLY when I attend our quarterly meetings. Otherwise, I am consistently wearing African and African inspired garb. My comment is based on much MORE than just this one film. Stop looking for reasons to justify this continued elimination of African cultural significance!

Most times most people say that they were born gay or lesbian, i will excuse people who were born with two sexual organs. They can grow to mature to a sex they were not expecting. But you see for a guy or lady born with one genital was not born a gay or lesbian. Most of the gays and lesbians, if they can say the truth how their desire for same sex started. Watching of porn and masturbation is the originality of same sex attractions. Trying to explore, that was how most started nurturing it and eventually got addicted to it. Please there is no such thing that one was born gay thats a big lie and excuse for people. Please if you have found yourself in this, seek help and be disciplined.

This storyline is dangerous. It contributes to the idea that homosexuals are immoral and are completely driven by carnal desires. It is one thing for consenting adults to explore intimacy and love between each other but a totally different thing to ignore and disrespect family dynamics. While homosexuality should be something we learn to live with it should not be explored within a family structure, that is incest because family is made of more than blood relations but also between the love bonds, trust, and compassion that we develop between us. When you introduce romantic dealings into a family structure it can surely rip a family apart.
