    Hello from Canmore 🇨🇦
Great video again. Missing the island. We just had a cold snap -30C.
We stayed at Waterside Condo in January 2019. It is on the beach. Built by an Irish chap I believe. Great home base for Paynes. Fish market is only a 2 minute walk. Recommend Daphne’s or Cliff for sundowners. Scarlet Restaurant across the street for cocktails and fusion food🥂.
We had a full apartment so only dined out sparingly. Good wine is pricey dining out. We love to cook, mostly to enjoy the fish. We saw water sport vendors feeding fish scraps to a stingray on the beach. The ray was easily 2’ across. That cured me of playing in the water there without keeping a keen eye. I have been stung by much smaller, very painful. Shuffle your feet or swim, don’t walk when in the water.
We usually stay at Rockley Beach to play in the surf. Sewage issues in 2018, so we went up island to flatter water.
I think the island lock down is finishing this week. Hopefully the absence of tourist revenue does not impact education and infrastructure quality. Perhaps you might be enjoying your island more without as many visitors?
    Banks is best!

Thanks Bruce. Yeah quite a bit is changing in these precarious times. Sadly Scarlet has closed its doors. Food there was really delicious and always consistent. Fortunately quite a few people have moved to Barbados on the welcome stamp visa which has been quite helpful. A lot of other restaurants have also fallen to the impact of COVID. We've seen Cin Cin, Primo, Hugo's and The Cliff restaurant have all closed their doors permanently. While the Cliff closed they have kept the Cliff Beach Club which is still up and running for the time being. Not sure what will happen if the Government continue with this 2 week pause as it's heavily impacting hundreds of small businesses across the island. But we have community spread and they are doing their best to contain it at the moment. Vaccines have just rolled out also, so fingers crossed that in a few months or later towards the end of the year we may start to look in better shape.

@@WanderingBajans Too bad about closures. The plague has been vey tough on people and businesses. I worry about your island. Your cases were managed well until so many visitors messed it up. Apologies for all the bad guys. I hope you two are managing ok.
Love your work, you keep it fresh with tweaks.
      😎

@@brucecanmore3788 many thanks for your kind words. We are doing great so far. Neither of us have been exposed yet. Hopefully we won't. While yes some tourists have been a bit naughty, it's a calculated risk Barbados has taken to open up the borders. We as a small island just can't survive without tourism, so you could say the Government are doing the best they can with the ever changing environment and the thousands of people moving back and forth. As they say, "it's a very fluid situation".so happy to hear you are still enjoying our content. We are excited to get out and make some more videos as soon as they open back up. Thanks again and you be safe!

We always stay at BeachView (seen in this video) and Paynes Bay and the local area is the most special place for us.

That's so great Steve. Beach View is a great hotel and situated ideally for some incredible sunset views and great local restaurants nearby. I grew up very near to Paynes Bay and spent many childhood days there, swimming, water skiing and also fishing. Hopefully we can get back to some normalcy soon and you can come back and visit us soon! Thanks for watching!

Not the best beach to spend a day. The A1 highway passes by, see intropic. The greeny grey areas are rock shelves, you step off into deeper water. Ok as long as the surf is not hard and the sand disturbed cos you cant see them be aware. But just walk to the right 50yrds around the corner. Still noisey from busses. But easier bathing.

Great quality, thank you again. We stayed at the condo next to the fish market in January ‘18. Beautiful sea view. Monkeys in the large tree you panned at the point. We usually stay on Rockley Beach, we were dodging some sewage issues in Christchurch. I understand all good at Rockley now. Lots of great sundowner decks nearby Payne’s. Great food at Scarlet across the road and fabulous view and cuisine at Cliff. Too many to mention all.
Saw a 90 cm wide stingray being fed fish scraps right on beach surf at Paynes. I was wary in the water there after that.
Missing the island in the sun. Hope you can enjoy your special place for all of us that wish we were there. Be healthy, stay strong. Keep up your great footage, please.
