Are you kidding???? He has a HUGE fan base and is wildly popular. I am actually his fan club, and I can't get enough of him. His first album, Exit Form, did make the top ten alternative albums, and he's played to sold out crowd all over the US. He has fans all over the world and has been planning to tour Europe. He is getting more and more well known. It's just a matter of time.
He says what has he done, uh he had all those concerts sold out in 15 minutes then the pandemic hit. Is he in la la land where there's no pandemic where he is?
@@jvillarreal74 He did several live stream shows that brought in more $$ than any other artist who had performed on some of those venues (they told me). He has put out two albums and all kinds of other EPs. He has fans all over the world. He had to cancel his European tour due to the pandemic, but will be returning hopefully in the fall. P.S. If you look up his music, he goes by Scarypoolparty.
I saw him in Bristol, UK, 2022. He played in front of about 30 people. He was great, but there was no clamour for him. Saying that, I felt privileged being there.
His mental illness associated with autism is what the issue is. Record labels are not going to take that kind of a risk on a 1 dimensional street performer with those kinds of issues. That's the painful truth.
He said at the beginning of the audition that he played piano. I saw him in concert when and he was so good. His voice improved so much while on idol. And the music that he is releasing is nothing like he played on the show. He is one of a kind.
There is a video of Lionel, Katy and Luke amazed after his audition and Lionel states he has observed a performance like this before and mentions Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder and Katy calls it scary. I’m sure someone on the production was aware of his talent but the way they reacted especially Lionel and Luke seemed genuine to me but what impressed me was Alejandro. I could not get enough of him and found his Blesser video online, I’m no expert but I see something special.
In an interview, he said he never took musically seriously until his mid teens (16-17) and that he started by listening to Mozart, Bach, and Chopin' . He started with the piano and taught himself guitar only two years before he auditioned for Idol. He is a Mozart-level prodigy!
I think mid to late teens is correct. I think he even played drums around then from an old reddit article (age 17?). I think guitar was at least as far back as 2014 as his first IG clip/YT post was back then... but that is around age 19. He was newly 24 for the Idol process start. And it was said he would practice for hours a day consistently. He is a brilliant guitarist and maybe a better pianist. I think the street/gig singing was only for a few years before Idol. And I think he has the voice of an angel:)

Your first technical comments were correct about his singing voice. He even said he didn't consider himself a great singer. I think your quick research in the end missed lots of info. There were two sold out tours, not just one. There were several festival's there was a Grammy Museum performance. Also Exit Form charted for about a week landing at #4 on alt pop.H Doom Hologram charted at 8 for a day or two. Covid has greatly affected his growth. He was set for a European tour with some of the venues already sold out. One of the venues he was set for was El Paradiso, where all the greats have performed. He may not have proper vocal training but Ive heard him hold notes to amazing lengths and yes he does belt out notes. Finally he is a music genius, as the VP for Disney Music has stated. You've picked the wrong former contestant to make an example of "gone to no where" after the show.

Liked the guy's critique. But I chuckled at the end. Commercial success is something Alejandro has absolutely no interest in. I'm not acting like I know the guy, he has stated this and you can tell by his demeanor and personality. He loves being at the place where he is now where he can release ANY type of music he wants to. He loves writing songs, that's pretty much it haha. Theres much of his songs that could have had commercial success if he went the robot-pop star route. Out Loud, Cellphones, Something Real...lots of other unreleased songs. AND even with the denial of pop stardom, he still sold out tours, especially Europe, and has a great following for a guy who doesn't even do much marketing for himself. He's literally released three songs the last three weeks, all very random and surprisingly, without any marketing and whatnot. The guy is a musical genius, commercial success doesn't define a career. He has a career in music, he lives off of it and touches thousands of souls around the world. I would say that's pretty successful :)

The unmistakable voices of Axl Rose, Janis Joplin, Cardi B, James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Barry White, Dolly Parton, Joe Cocker, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, I could go on. Sometimes a singers success can be assisted by the sign of the times, the lyrics/story they are relating but most of all, by those who choose or NOT choose to promote them. So far, I see Alejandro as a fearless musician, song writer, producer, singer who can jump from one genre to the next. Blending genres and multi layering sounds to take making music to a new level. But then you would have to listen to all his music to be able to recognize/appreciate it.
Love Scarypoolparty!!!! He has a large loyal fan base. His musical genius is difficult to categorize as he excels at so many genres and came on the scene right before a worldwide pandemic.
He has improved his vocal strength and range significantly since Idol and does actually belt out incredible notes now. He never thought he could sing so I think it took him awhile to gain confidence in his ability. Why do you assume he hasn’t connected to or maintained a fan base? Or that he wants to be a massive star? I appreciate your checking him out but some of your assumptions are completely unfounded. You’ll see him winning awards within the next couple of years.
He played piano as a child, rediscovered it as an adult. Entirely self taught on guitar at age 20. See his ad for gibson guitar for an explanation of how his guitar style evolved. No training at all on voice. Amazing song writer! Please watch his video "blesser". His emotion far overcomes any technical issues you could pick at! Sold out 2 concert series actually, then covid hit. People are still discovering him day by day.
And many of us are waiting for another US tour or for California to open up so we can fly to see him perform at a local concert which he sometimes does.
Middle aged white guy here with a little truth that angers me. This guy is the most talented person I have watched in any of these shows (regardless of the other celebrities that came from this show, check their demographics) and deservedly so has a loving fanbase, but sadly racism is the basis for why he did not make it into the mainstream in my opinion. I loved his originals the first time hearing them which I do not with many singles these days. There is another in American Idol that came through and was amazing and went no where despite the talent and was I guess a little too brown. Homie should be a household name and have long since grown out of being shy although I would hope is still humble, I am sure he is still humble though for the worst of reasons. Shame on us.
Thank you. You reminded me of how much I had enjoyed Alejandro Aranda and his wonderful and creative songwriting. He has a successful music and performing career, now. Look up and enjoy his unique vocals and mixed genre compositions which I just found(thanks to you) on youtube, under his stage name Scarypoolparty. There is a newer mv and a recently released album with a range of styles from electronic rock to classical piano,I believe. It seems that he has performed at concerts and other venues since his appearance on American Idol, and has allowed himself to explore a wide range of songwriting and compositions. He is very young! Adam, I love your channel. It has brought me a lot of joy during this past year of isolation and no travelling to visit family.I only watched youtube, before last February, when my youngest child showed me funny cat videos or clips of her favorite artists, or sketches from late night tv shows. Now, I have discovered many musical artists that I love and I have a nice collection of cds to play at home while I do the chores I hate. With K-pop,Pink Sweat$, and Post Malone, now my home gets sparkling clean and repairs get done on time!
He never wanted commercial success, he is a niche artist. He is living his dream playing and creating the music he loves. He never wanted a lot of money
I went to see him with my fiancé in Dallas Trust me he is doing just fine he now has 2 albums out and a 3rd album on the way he performed on the Jimmy Kimble show and is about to go on tour again So yeah I think he is doing just fine
Alejandro does, in his introduction to the judges, say he plays piano. Another thing, the track "Blesser", is it probable he had a falling out with his Ma because of his sexuality? If you listen to this song referring to the female as his mother rather than a girlfriend, it explains the broken heart experienced from a parent rejecting you for your sexuality
"How does he know he played piano"... Well... He literally stated verbatim in his introduction to them that "I play piano too". Not to mention... the judges get a fact sheet and direction on each audition. They all audition off video prior to getting to the judges which generates the fact sheet. You have to know that, right????
Alejandro ‘s style is different from mainstream , and he geniusly defines his owe range at age 24 , and he will crack the code to become One-Hit Wonders. Adam , human voice developments and human talents are not always searchable on internet of things, they come from hearts and souls ( mostly love and support).
Homie came out on the voice and dropped his first album with all originals during the show. He got 2nd place, but I can guarantee you his first contract was larger than Lane's who won this season. All 3 of the coaches became his legit fans.
Great reaction 🙏 2 years after voice coaches and musicians are still doing reactions on Alejandro Aranda, a humble soul that goes as Scarypoolparty as a musician. Your notes on his voice were interesting and helpful. I wish you will listen to Vampire Shade so you will hear him “howl”. Cellphones so his voice used as another instrument will transport you places. Or his latest Room full of cards again enjoy all the different takes of his voice. As per his success 2 years after his Audition in the show and in the middle of a pandemic... well you are talking about him (your first AA audition reaction?) yesterday he was interviewed by Grammy museum, a year after his first interview with them. Apple Music and Spotify have placed songs of his latest EP Los Angeles in the Indie list to hear. He has a Covic save acoustic tour in June through 6 states. Mad Cool festival in Madrid in July hasn’t canceled due to Covid yet. The rest of the European tour dates keep on postponing dates not cancelling because he has many fans there eager to hear him. Meanwhile he keeps on making music. One EP in 2020 Doom Hologram. The song Return2sender has 1.5 million views in Spotify. In February of 2021 he released A single, Home has 1/4 of a million views on Spotify and this past week he released the EP Los Angeles that has “ a song for every mood” ☮️ stay safe, enjoy Scarypoolparty’s music and do more reactions on the voice of this humble artist that just wants to create and share the music that inspires him and helps him with life obstacles. ☮️
He started his music journey very young with classical piano, but took a long break, he didnt seriously get back into music until he was 20. He picked up guitar later in life at around the age of 19ish.
He goes by his performer name Scarypoolparty. He does have a big fan following. Maybe his career didn’t take off right away after American idol because unfortunately for him the quarantine soon followed.
i totally agree. he sings very breathy and needs more belts; perfectly said. but if you listen to his house of cards/and newest video "posion" then you will see his progress
The first vocal coach to hit the nail on the head. Only thing is a little more homework would of helped which I’m sure might be in his pay for presentation. Example the Piano comment. He has shot three music videos. Out loud has been on the charts for three years now. He heard Alejandro say he looks up to Trent Reznor. Anyone familiar wit NIN knows their gritty sound, which this vocal coach should of immediately caught. Alejandro was forced to play chill, pop like music for a show that is based on pop like music. Maybe he could have done more on a show like G.O.T. But American listeners needed to know or be familiar with cover songs which he never did before he made it onto American Idol. His song Poisoning Luke Bryan, a man who understands music makes the comments “I pray, I truly pray America understands how difficult it is to play the guitar like you just did. And your voice man, this is the best you have sang in the entire competition. You first performance and right there!” Luke Bryuan know his original will not have the reach of a cover so like he said early on “I’m just you Champion for the rest of the competition!” Besides a non aired segment he never received a negative remark. They all were in awe, 2020 season invites him back to talk to the new contestants, he was on Jimmy Kimmel live so he has been crushing it. It just too bad the pandemic but a hold on all of us.
React to Laine Hardy, the winner of 2019 AMERICAN Idol, look at his career after winning and his belting, which seems like a high priority in your book. Alejandro Aranda came in second. But it would interesting to hear what your opinion is on Laine.
When people do these shows, if they don’t win, they are still under contract to American Idol. You can’t release a record within 3 years unless they are involved. They literally shut down your career, so you cannot cash in on your fame when you are hot.
@Carolyn Lomax He hasn’t under his OWN NAME.He uses “Scarypoolparty” to get around it. I’m a good friend with a former top six contestant...I’ve heard about what you sign. Did you ever to bother asking yourself WHY Alejandro would record under some other name when he was basically a household name to millions of viewers? 🤷🏻♂️
The problem is he is very alternative in his choice of genre. It doesn’t align with most pop songs and how they all sound the same musically. Some of his songs do, but when he remakes them he changes them and it doesn’t sound poppy anymore. Based on his personality, it doesn’t seem he wants stardom, and just wants a music career. Plus, alternative is no longer popular like it used to be among the kids.

It's bad timing too. He has that vibe where you want to see him live and that's already hard to maintain when there's not a pandemic.
At the end of the day dude is unique unlike belters that all sound alike and end up on a dead end TH-cam channel. Have a nice day!
I have never been to a concert and never felt the need to go. Alejandro is someone I would love to hear live. I may have to look for a show
Thank you. You reminded me of how much I had enjoyed
Alejandro Aranda and his wonderful and creative songwriting.
If you watch the whole audition, he literally says he plays piano too. Js
Did you watch his audition, he actually states that he plays piano....wow
React to “Blesser” by AA/SPP. His original. It’s amazing!! 🙀🙀👏🏽👏🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Yes. The second half of "Blesser" blows my mind.
th-cam.com/video/eAKwe7AaT0Q/w-d-xo.html
He needs to react to this
Agree! Blesser is just amazing
I love how protective everyone is the comments. I am also still a fan, I can see covid creating a few obstacles for a new career.
We love Alejandro forever!!!!
I love your reaction, your critics are so profesional. I love Alejandro, I will always follow him.
His fanbase is actually a really huge, but is a really specific niche but oh boy they are loyal lol.
We sure are loyal 👌
I went to see him with my fiancé in Dallas
Trust me he is doing just fine he now has 2 albums out and a 3rd album on the way he performed on the Jimmy Kimble show and is about to go on tour again
So yeah I think he is doing just fine
Alejandro does, in his introduction to the judges, say he plays piano.
Another thing, the track "Blesser", is it probable he had a falling out with his Ma because of his sexuality? If you listen to this song referring to the female as his mother rather than a girlfriend, it explains the broken heart experienced from a parent rejecting you for your sexuality
his stage name is scarypolparty and he has recorded mind-blowing songs
Alejandro > ALL of 2021 American Idol contestants...
Love the video thank you
Great reaction 🙏 2 years after voice coaches and musicians are still doing reactions on Alejandro Aranda, a humble soul that goes as Scarypoolparty as a musician. Your notes on his voice were interesting and helpful. I wish you will listen to Vampire Shade so you will hear him “howl”. Cellphones so his voice used as another instrument will transport you places. Or his latest Room full of cards again enjoy all the different takes of his voice. A reaction to his voice , as a voice coach, to this compilation of songs will be amazing and will bring many views to your channel because his fans spread the news of reactions very fast until Alejandro/Scarypoolparty notice it and acknowledges the TH-camr on his Instagram account of 633k followers.
Saw him singing Down Town Pomona a few years back. He really is an inspiration for the kids in Pomona. A city that's hard to grow up in.
Don't forget covid happened beg2020. He probably would've sold out wherever he went and had a big tour planned
He knows he plays the piano because he said he plays the piano! Quality listening skills there bro 😎
He started his music journey very young with classical piano, but took a long break, he didnt seriously get back into music until he was 20. He picked up guitar later in life at around the age of 19ish.
Alejandro Aranda is extremely talented and blessed. 💙
"how did Richie know he could play piano" Alejandro at beginning of audition "I play piano as well" wow!
This guy criticizes Alejandro while this TH-camr has a millions cuts just to make himself look as stoic as possible. He was amazed.
The guitarist you were thinking of is sungha jung :)
He goes by his performer name Scarypoolparty. He does have a big fan following. Maybe his career didn’t take off right away after American idol because unfortunately for him the quarantine soon followed.
That little Asian Kid who played guitar 🎸 was Sungha Jung, amazing guitarist!!
Different styles of playing. Also SPP writes his music and does not do covers.
He goes by Scarypoolparty which might be not the best marketing situation
Maybe. But he is still on the rise. Some highlights are:
th-cam.com/video/4Fyu9I7t244/w-d-xo.html
who's the asian kid guitarist you were talking about? wanna research!
Very talented. His 2 lp is amazing. He is not industrial All hopes on him. Thks for ur analysis.
Alejandro told the Judges that he also plays piano before he sings... Lionel didn't knew it before. You must have skipped that part...
i totally agree. he sings very breathy and needs more belts; perfectly said. but if you listen to his house of cards/and newest video "posion" then you will see his progress
Huge Scarypoolparty fan here!!!!!
Excellent critique. Keeping it real.
Alejandro: *sells out of tours in minutes*
This guy: yeah not very much success unfortunately…
You need to react to him doing Blesser on idol fr
You need to watch the original “Blesser”
He said at beginning of this clip that he played piano so no they didn’t know or hear him before this
He says at the very beginning of the audition that he plays piano too
Hes had bigger career & impact than Laine Hardy. His song Room full of cards is amazing, better than most peoples music.
I saw him in Philly 3 years ago
The scarypoolparty album is fire
The kid you are thinking about is Sungha Jung. He is a finger style guitarist.
AA actually said he played piano when he first introduced himself.
Check out his song House Of Cards. Changed my mind, he has a really nice chest and head voice on it. He performs as ScaryPoolParty now.
Who? Lol
The Asian kid you're thinking of is Ichika Nito - he's incredible.
PLEASE REACT TO DAY6 COVER 'SHE'S GONE'!!! 🙏 IT WAS AMAZING, YOU WON'T REGRET IT
HE TOLD THE JUDGES WHEN HE CAME IN " THAT HE PLAYED PIANO ALSO " ; HE PLAYED ON STREETS LITTLE CLUBS IN CALIFORNIA WHERE HE COULD ; BEFORE IDOL.......
You are nuts hes a musical great😅
He's great
When people do these shows, if they don’t win, they are still under contract to American Idol.
Please react to TXT "force" (first take) 🙏🏻 promise you its a good one
Thank you, Everette Oth, Loved it!
Sounds like a John Mayer song to be honest. Which is an extremely high compliment for me.
It just means he didn't sell his soul 😈👁️
Also he said he plays piano???
he told the judges before the played guitar that he plays the piano too...
They knew that he played piano because he told them during his initial interview on stage.
You mean Sungha Jung!!
It's honestly hilarious how jealous you sounded in this
Id pay this man to play and sing john meyer
this dude wanted the hug from lionel.
can you react to nct from home (also the rearranged version) and the recording behind the scene!!
Lionel did not know he played piano. Listen to alejandro telling them I play piano to
The problem is he is very alternative in his choice of genre. It doesn’t align with most pop songs and how they all sound the same musically. Some of his songs do, but when he remakes them he changes them and it doesn’t sound poppy anymore. Based on his personality, it doesn’t seem he wants stardom, and just wants a music career. Plus, alternative is no longer popular like it used to be among the kids.
at the very beginning he said i played piano
