Those that can't do, teach...or try to teach. It's been 4 years since this and Adele still sounds amazing. I know I'm being a little rude, but it's hard to hear someone that isn't an accomplished singer giving her advice.
That's what's bothering for me. Why aren't these professional vocal coaches around her not helping her technique-wise lest she risk injuring her vocal cords again. I think one of her greatest strengths is her songwriting skills which gives her the leverage of choice in terms of material i.e. she doesn't have to confrom too much to how a label wants to package her music because she writes her own.

Because vocal couches are out there to make you sing as perfectly as possible, however her voice and notes break a lot, words are at times cut and everything sounds very raw. She had used it in her favor though, as it is her signature sound and you hear other female singers do such thing very rarely and only in some part of their performances. I think Demi Lovato breaks a lot of her notes, cuts words and does a lot of fry in some of her songs like Skyscraper.

@@cwehden I guess I'm just old school and prefer the style and technique of Barbra, Whitney, Regine, Celine, Mariah, Lara and the like. You should react to Lara Fabian though. Quite underrated but impeccable technique.
She sings in n the mask region in this performance, a lot, which produces a nasal quality to her voice. It's a technique applied to convey and interpret the emotion of this song. She pulls it off and only a few people can like Aretha franklin, beyonce and lady gaga
