- In this featurette we get to see the talented voice actors of The Clones Wars on set acting their lines in the microphone with the help of Dave Filoni as director. It's interesting to see the process behind James Arnold Taylor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Matt Lanter as Anakin Skywalker, Ashley Eckstein as Ahsoka Tano, Bradley Dee Baker as ALL the Clone Troopers, Sam Jackson as Mace Windu and so many more, such as Matt Wood, the voice of the droids and Grievous!
Voice actors deserve more fame than they have, they have to embody the characters behind the animation of the characters in Star Wars that we love.

Yeah, Matt Wood has done all the voice acting and post-processing for Grievous' voice since his appearance in Revenge of the Sith. I love his dedication to the character.

I knew Admiral Yalaren and the narrator had the same voice actor the moment I heard them both speak. So I developed my own head cannon were Yalaren knew everything going on during the clone wars and just didn’t tell anyone 😂
If I may, I would like to add to this headcanon:
Each narration is actually an entry Yularen puts into a report database or a war diary of sorts to document his journey as an officer of the Republic serving with both Skywalker and Kenobi.

@@caneloex5897 So, spoilers ahead if you haven't seen Rebels and/or read the newest Thrawn trilogy: After the Clone Wars, Yularen completed his military service and went on to serve the Imperial Security Bureau where he became Colonel Yularen. He was introduced to Thrawn and helped him on several occasions while Thrawn was advancing through the ranks. Eventually, Yularen was part of the debriefing meeting on the first Death Star regarding the lost plans. He actually appears in Episode 4, as the only man in white uniform.
Sadly though, Yularen died on the Death Star when a measly farm boy took a lucky shot and caused the destruction of the battle station. 🤣

@@mr_h831 to the end of the comment what are you referring to exactly? Are you saying that most sets these days are blue and green screen filled, because that is just not true. I mean just look at the bts for Mandalorian, you don't even have to go out of franchise to see that that isn't true.
There were a lot of sets in the prequels that were built, CGI enhanced the sets.
Fun fact for those that believe that the Prequels were 90% CGI

Well, the entire movie took place on planets that had almost zero similarities to earth except for Kashyyyk.
Coruscant: The entire planet is a futuristic city with flying vehicles.
Utapau: A planet with a bunch of holes with holes that have even more holes.
Mustafar: Basically a hell planet.
Kashyyyk: Possibly the only planet that resembles earth that also has more screentime than the ones we only get a glimpse of in Episode III but had CGI structures, vehicles, and characters (Because creating Kashyyyk without CGI is like asking for trouble.)
Then there are like 10 other planets that pay a very small visit during the movie. So CGI was necessary to that degree.
I always show a little extra appreciation for non-CGI movies but when it comes to this I absolutely respect their decision and I would personally not have had it any other way. Let us not forget how much work goes into making such a successful and exciting movie with CGI.

Dave Filoni is the best person to be in charge of Star Wars, he knows and understands the subject matter, and also knows how to direct his actors.

Only they'll never hire him because they're too concerned with their "woke" agenda and brainwashing kids into believing characters like Rey, Rose, and Reva are strong and characters like Kenobi, Anakin, and Luke are weak and unimportant to the story. They want to tear down old characters so they can build up their new "diverse" ones, only they won't even do that; they'll give these new ones the shittiest and not even remotely interesting storylines through clickbaiting us into their cheap, safe, forgettable, repackagable disney plus series'.
Kathleen Kennedy, her writing team (if you could even call them writers), and the hack directors she hires seem like the kind of people that, if they legally could, would tear down the works of Van Gogh or Da Vinci simply because it was excellent work produced by men, and replace their paintings with crappy stick-figure drawings they made and believe it's genuinely good because they believe it's more "inclusive". They know they could never measure up to George, so what will they do? Shit on his work and act like that somehow makes them better by comparison.
As loyal fans of Lucas' legacy, we need to stop giving her and this corporation our money. At this point, it's obvious she's not using it fulfill his legacy, but rather to destroy it. She'll tear down the originals, the prequels, the Clone Wars, the Old Republic, the New Republic, Legends, all expansive and depth-defying content that Lucasfilm and Lucasarts has produced throughout decades, just to revamp her dog-shit trilogy, and make that the center of star wars lore and canon in the eyes of naive newcoming fans ages 13 and below.
I weep for the future. All these newcoming kids are going to somehow love her god-aweful content through cheap nostalgic bias. None of this shit would've happened if Lucas had just hired Filoni or Favreau. This is what you get when you hire a dumb-ass Karen feminazi and a billion dollar sell-out corporation for your new trilogy.

I believe voice actors and stage crew members don’t get enough recognition. Yes it’s the actors you see (or in this case the characters), but the other people are also super important to keep the show going

The clone wars main theme always gives me nostalgia, a bunch of flashbacks occur and it reminds me of the end. I will forever love the clone wars!

James Arnold Taylor has range as I’ve looked over his voice roles for other shows. He’s a great voice for Obi-Wan.
He also does Plo Koon! I absolutely love the cast on Clone Wars

Even though Ewan McGregor is Scottish, his Obi-Wan is from the South of England. JAT's Obi-Wan is majority South with some Northern tendancies.

He doesn't. He only did Windu for the movie and a few episodes at most. Terrence C. Carson voice acts for everything else. Samuel L. Jackson is a busy man, can't have him for every Windu episode unfortunately. Hope he'll make a return in Star Wars for a future show, maybe.

The work these voice actors is incredible! I believe that they need to get more recognition than what they are given.
The talent of the voice actors, the writers, producers and directors of these animated shows are so good that with very few script changes they could be audio plays. As an _old time radio_ fan, I mean that as the highest praise.

You need to see the one of Sam Witwier doing Darth Maul when Savage Oppress finds him and he's still very mentally unstable. Watching him act that stuff out is insane. Even Clancy was impressed by his voice acting.

It really blows my mind how long ago The Clone Wars began, 2008...jeez. I feel the nostalgia.
I was only... a couple thousand years old. After discovering how to use Cryo Stasis, me and hundreds of clones were put into suspended stasis and launched off deep into space, where I found this lovely planet. Reminds me of Naboo, but with Tatooine deserts, the oceans of Kamino, and a moon that is real!
Man, this makes me want to do voice acting. Looks kinda fun.

I met James Arnold Taylor at the premiere of episode 9 since he was sitting next to me. It was pretty cool.
This is so cool! I knew some of the voice actors since I, at some point, watched and read the end credits. However, there were many that I didn't know. And seeing how some of them do more than one voice, is just amazing! Voice acting is acting on a totally another level. I do enjoy the other bts stuff, but Clone Wars is still so close to my heart... Thank you for bringing us these clips!

Are you saying that we, as humans, should not appreciate the hard work that has been put into the making of the movies, tv-series, music and etc.? Yes, I'm aware that there are some extremely bad content and stuff, but I'm talking now about Star Wars, fantasy in general, disregarding the bad content.
I love watching this show. The voice actors are outstanding and it really feels like they put all their effort into creating a bigger galaxy.
My favorite show. I wish they would do a live action of it. The Clone Wars adds so much to the Star Wars Universe.

When you grew up with Star Wars in Germany it’s really great watching Clone Wars after because most of the voice actors are actually also those from the movies. You could close your eyes and imagine a live action series with all the actors you learned to love which is just amazing

There is a reason I firmly believe that the Clone Wars was one of the best TV series' ever created. All the actors did an incredible job bringing their characters to life and making them human (or Togruta or whatever else)

I genuinely thought Obi Wan was voice acted by Ewan McGregor.
The accent would've been flawless if he was. James Arnold Taylor is an amazing VA but he messes up Obi-wan in quite an important department: the pronunciation of the 'a' sound in words like 'can't' and 'commander'.
