    Whats the max height/ lift can it go? Also have you used it on soft ground? We dont usually have paved camp sites.

      Hello! I just went and cranked it all the way up (not under the trailer), and it appears that the max height of the tire would be between 5-6 inches. If you go to the 2:00 mark of this video: th-cam.com/video/WVRpnanaN8Q/w-d-xo.html , we have a shot of it all the way up. So far, we have only used it in established sites (either paved or gravel). The area that most of the weight is spread across is about 3" x 15", so it would probably depend on whether it was soft enough that the weight of the rig would be able to push something that size into the ground.

    Shipping dimension show as 21 x 19.5 x 4 inches, is that the smallest it will collapse for storage? Also, do you think it could be raised faster with an old school hand crank speed handle? Or do you need more torque from the wrench? Our trailer tops out at 5k, so we're looking at a max of 2500lbs to lift. Thanks!

      We no longer have that leveler, as we sent it with the teardrop when we sold it earlier this year. So, I can’t tell you for sure on the collapsed dimensions, but what you listed sounds about right. The hand crank may work. It would be on the edge as far as being able to get enough leverage with it. Honestly, we had switched over to using an impact driver on ours. However, I now see on the website that it says not to use an impact for some reason. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I will also say that you may want to check on the max trailer weight for this leveler. Our trailer only weighed 2000lbs fully loaded. While I couldn’t find a max lifting weight on BAL’s website, another site that I found had it listed as 2000lbs, and yet another said 1700lbs. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    Is it better to have both for a pop up tent?

    • @MidwestJourneys
      @MidwestJourneys  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that would be similar to our setup. You would need something on the low side to level it, and a way to chock the tire on the other side.

    Do we need to buy one or two of these to level our pop up camper?

    • @MidwestJourneys
      @MidwestJourneys  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will just need one leveler for the low side. However, you should have something to chock the wheel on the high side. We use the BAL locking chock, but any chock will work.

    Do these come in different sizes? The one I have seems a little big, maybe 2 or 3 inches bigger than my tire, like not a tight fit at the base (not wedged in there) mine is a BAL 28050

    • @MidwestJourneys
      @MidwestJourneys  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe the 28050 is the only model. Ours fit pretty tight under that trailer, but that trailer also had some pretty beefy tires.

    Do you have a Model # for the leveling BAL? I got one but it is too small. You also look like you have bigger tires than I do.

    • @MidwestJourneys
      @MidwestJourneys  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, ours is model 28050. The tires on our camper are just about 28" in diameter.

    So, where exactly did you place your bubble level to see if the trailer was level or not? You didn't show it's location in your video. Thanks.

    • @MidwestJourneys
      @MidwestJourneys  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a magnetic level, so I typically put it under the back “bumper” (where the taillights are), when checking side to side. Then I put it somewhere under the side frame rail to check front to back.

    Can this be also used on each side of a tandem trailer (one wheel per side)

    • @MidwestJourneys
      @MidwestJourneys  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would imagine that the chock would work in that situation. However, I do not know how that would work with the leveler, as it would only be lifting one of the wheels.

    • @MidwestJourneys
      @MidwestJourneys  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Our trailer tire size is 235/75R15. From a rough measurement, the tire diameter is approximately 28".

      @@MidwestJourneys Thank you! Are you still using the BAL leveler?

    • @MidwestJourneys
      @MidwestJourneys  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@camerongill2695 Yep, we go camping pretty much every other weekend, and use it every time. The only issue we've had was the one time I forgot to bring the ratchet (video here: th-cam.com/video/OnGJvm24Az8/w-d-xo.html), and had to raise it with a multi-tool. Oops. :) Luckily, that site was pretty level.

    • @MidwestJourneys
      @MidwestJourneys  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ...And actually, I just realized that the hex on that is 3/4", and so is one end of our 4-way lug wrench. So, if I were thinking, I could have just used the 4-way to raise it, instead of trying to use a multi-tool.... Live and learn. :)

    What size are your wheels? I have 15" and wonder if the BAL leveler will fit. Thanks from British Columbia Canada.

    • @MidwestJourneys
      @MidwestJourneys  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching in Canada! My wheels are 15”, and I have 235/75R15 tires. The only time I have ever had an issue was earlier this year, and we were camping on soft ground, and the tire sank in a bit. I just put my stabilizer down, then cranked up the tongue jack enough so that I could slide the BAL under the tire.
