The supros are just classic American made amps that are on sooo many records its not funny , and that is a special one, the high quality its been kept all these years and the dual 12s are just special for that amp. Oh and the pitch shifting vibrato (true vibrato) on the magnatone is just out of this world. The reverb is killer too. I never thought yall would even reply to my message on reverb let alone do video of that quality that fast! I am a guitarist and lover of all the things that yall carry there and make videos of. A much superior amp.Supro was more of a budget amp,the Magnatone was the Cadillac of American Amps in the 40's,50's,60's.I still have a "Maggie", exactly like the one being shown. I love it,it will stay with me till I die.
I hazza S6650 Supro Royal Reverb that I took to your shop to have checked out. It has the large Gibbs reverb tank and two 6973 power tubes. I tone stack it with a mint Maggie 260/262 Lyric 660. Fantastic sound!
K McCoy I love those tubes! Nos are spendy, EH makes new ones, i am gonna build a amp with four 6973 tubes i have too!! They are sized like el84s but have more bass than el84s. I love those tubes. I found a substitute for them too. 6cz5 works if you put a wire jumper from pin8 to 1. Magnatone has a amp with 4 of them!!!

Hello, I have a 1960 Magnatone custom 460. It needs repair work done in the vibrato section. Do you know where i could get it repaired by a good and qualified repair person? It means a lot to me ,as it was my dad's amp for all his playing since 1960. I am retired now ,but I would like to have it restored. I thank you for any help you could give.

Very cool video. I first thought I would prefer the Supro, wrong I love the Magnatone. It seems to be more focused and solid.

This is nothing like Jimmy's Supro, which had a 12 in speaker, was modded, and unlike any factory Supro.

Bad quality. There are other amps that perform better with less reliability problems.
Issues with Magnatone in general.
Poor reliability. Repairs take too long.
My dad used his for 40years, and had no problems.
@@berniediapersanderslukso9204 I own about 13 Magnatone amps. Very easy to repair compared to modern amps. I service them myself.
@@joesimon2018 someone must have told him it has communist tubes.
