It’s time to separate the Monocentropus balfouri (Socotra Island Blue Baboon) tarantula babies from their mother. This should have been done earlier, but this species is known to live communally, so it’s fine. I doubt any of the slings were cannibalized. Also because the slings are from a breeding loan (my female / my friend’s male), so I’ll be sending out half to my friend.

Tip: put the lid on the container temporarily so they don’t bolt.When you want to put another baby in the container, simply lift the lid to the point where you can get the baby in.

@@Tinypro2005 oh it moved, there's actually a large concensus on the subject in another thread but at 9:08 you see it's legs move. After that though, a lot of people, myself included, think he accidentally squished it and just didn't acknowledge that fact. It's a whole thing..

It happened to me once, but with rats. 8 baby rats managed to escape and I managed to find 7 of them. I thought I had them all and sometime later I see a little rat in the kitchen. he runs away. I only found him when he was an adult, he was very mean. Tried to bite me. Named him scabbers
