This is crazy! How in cities they have outages for so long! while where I live, a campo in La Vega, we rarely experience outages longer than 3 hours, which maybe occur once a month, but most outages are no longer than 5 mins.
That's Incredible, I Lived at PR 14 Years, From 2000 to 2014 & Just 1 or 2 times We have been in black out through a Tropical Storms, Not Hurricane, but cause seriously damage's to electric systems, but out of these, never interrupted electrical systems in 14 years, maybe after hurricane Maria's they change this systems and had a problems with different companies of electrical service. Nice content, Love Your English Channel 🎉🎉🎉
I also share your hope that the Dominican Republic can reach energy independence-achieving that would be a major step forward for the country. Once that is in place, the ability to export energy could bring additional economic benefits and greater stability.
Let me explain why this is possible the Dominican Republic produced enough electricity the problem that the Dominican Republic has is the distribution so we can definitely sale electricity to others country and also our country has grow more foreigner move to the Dominican Republic and those who don't know all the fact the generators the people who own those businesses are making more money with the electrical plants off that is the situation there is a lot of money involved from both side Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic and the reason why the cable is going to be coming from the DR because with produce more electricity the Puerto Rico the plants in Puerto Rico are very old the equipment are from thirty years ago
Sell electricty to Dominicans = +1,000m/yr Sell electricty to Puerto Rico = + 2,000m/yr Dont look at it as Dominicans taking care of Dominicans. Look at it as Americans or Europeans taking care of whoever can pay for whatever power is available. USA has a lot of restrictions that other countries like Puerto Rico can take advantage of.
Well sis he may just have set himself up for a big win or a big lost. It’s kinda overly optimistic; but doable. The one thing I know for sure, before any electricity can be exported to Puerto Rico there better be no block outs in the Dominican Republic. I like the idea though and I wish everyone involved all the best and all the success. All things are possible.
I'm in Gazcue, power has been out since 9pm yesterday. The building I live in has a generator. They just had to it turn off because its been over 12 hrs. Selling to PR is crazy at this moment.
Ughhh that's so sad, these outages have been so crazy lately! Let's hope the government is serious about fixing this situation and THEN if we have anything left over, we can sell, but not before fixing all the issues In House!
Our problem is in the distribution of the energy. Not the generation we (Dominicans) infact have lots of energy in production it just gets "lost" in order to reach the citizens
@@tommytom2551 it doesn't matter . stop making excuses. if you can't delivery the energy it doesn't matter. Don't sell energy to another country until you can deliver/distribute it to your own
@@wdrcinsantodomingo keep thinking that way... That's not a way to do business..... Both things can be done at the same time. DR just want to do business and keep the cash flow going... That's not bad
You need to understand we have a distribution problem but not a generation issue and we can sell to Puerto Rico to then invest in our distribution problem. Plus our electricity would be much cheaper than getting it from USA for puertorriqueños.
And also there are some part in the country the reality is people don't pay the bills there are other parts that have twety fourth hours never it is a issue
Very well explain but the facts is that PR at this time has more capacity and access to electricity more than DR the problem is more political when the island of PR has more than 16 billion dollars to invest in the grid more than 3 times more than DR is going to invest supposedly to sell energy to PR. They are betting that because they don’t have the same Enviromental regulations they will get there faster than PR. The truth of the matter that right now for an island of 11 million there is not enough generation by far to cover consumption and the access in rural area to energy is subpar to PR. Puerto Rico has a power generation capacity right north of almost 1000 mgw more than DR for a population that is less of a third of the DR the issues is more political than having money to do so . Puerto Rico has been on a process in privatization that started 3 years ago the current company has not started well lack of experience of handling the old grid together with ongoing bankruptcy process of the state run corporation and in top of everything the punch received by hurricane maria have for the first time in history the island is going trough regular rolling blackouts specially in the summer for lack of capacity and negligence of the new private company that manages the grid . But at end RD does not have the capacity to help anyone this problem will be solved when this process culminates but puertoricans are not used to what the DR has been accustomed historically so there will so they are solutions coming but they will come from the puertorican people and not from a country that itself has a worse system

Absolutely there are great vultures in Wall St investors trying to continue suck all the blood from the island of Puerto Rico to their own benefits. The US is fully aware and the two main political parties on the island know it as well. Puerto Rico needs to move up to the next level of self governing because colonies historically have failed and Puerto Rico is another example.
As a Dominican I find this absolutely nonsense. I hope Puerto Rico doesn't accept this. Dominican Republic hasn't solved the electricity issue in our country, How come are we trying to help other country with that?? This looks like You're trying to showing off about something You're not
The point of the whole project is to solve the electric issues in DR, and then have extra energy to sell off to Puerto Rico. Without the former, the latter cannot be done
Would be awesome and great for DR'S economy if they can achieve it
Lets hope they do!
i agree, but I also understand why people have doubts

That's right!
I'm not skeptical. For them to make that statement, there's got to be huge investors with a lot of money $$ at stake.
Ufff excelent
Thanks!
The Dominican Republic is in good production. The problem in distribution , not production.
doesn't matter. tell that to small business who don't have a generator.

Corrección :Puerto Rico no es un " estado libre"es una colonial norte americana....
Oficialmente, Puerto está clasificado como Estado Libre Asociado
Electricity only goes out in barrios because they don’t pay. If you live in a barrio it’s all your fault lmao
Everyone should pay for energy! That's part of the problem
Puerto Rico is not a free associated state. Puerto Rico is a colony of the United States, the defenders of freedom, democracy, law, and justice.
Puerto Rico is officially categorized under Free Associated State. Just a Quick Google search should clear this up for you
