I'm sorry +Jo Nakashima, but like many people stated, what you do at 03:30 is pretty difficult to understand a slow motion or something would be appreciated. Cheers!
Thanks Jo for this wonderful bookmark. There were many parts where I thought to give up but I thought if just like me if you would have given up I would not be able to make the best bookmark in the world.
Thank you for such a nice model! I agree with others, there are two difficult steps but after watching 3 times I managed. the result is great! I helped myself with the drawing scheme on top to figure out how should look like after 3:30
WHOA. Tried the fold at @3.30 at least eight times before getting it. Look at it several time, and look at the drawing in the corner : the main goal is to obtain that shape, so open the thing up (if you keep the paper crisp, you can refold as many times as you fail and eventually you'll have very well folded lines...) and get that top in the middle along the diagonal line. Once you're there, the paper resists a bit, but if you push things around, it will work on its own. Good luck!
You did it in 10 minutes, I was fighting with it for more than 1 hour. I was pissed off and I hated you. But finally I completed it and it´s beautiful. Thank you for your video ;)
I agree with "salamkhalifa". using paper is ok, but foil paper will work better for the tiny squash folds at the shoulders and tail. Using paper, make sure you really pleat the squash folds!!!!! BTW, I love this bookmark, don't give up peoples!!!
At 3:40 all he's doing is taking that cone (point?) and popping in the the reverse direction then the creases just fold themselves. To get a better understanding hit play/pause step by step as he goes along~
Amazing!!! Not only this video, but also all the other ones in your channel!!! Congratulations on being so ingenious and on sharing so many beautiful DIY-videos with us!!!!!!!!!!! But I would suggest changing the difficulty level in the description, cuz it was a little misleading: it took me more than 2 hours to get the hang of it... :D
Finished this first try no problems just because I read the comments. What’s so hard about it? 3:30 is a reverse fold turning the Valley fold into a mountain while keeping the middle mountain fold a mountain fold then flattening it like in the video.
Jo Nakashima I totally lost it after 3:35 where you wrap around the layer from behind. In the end I torn my paper because my hands were all shaking lol It seems to be too difficult for my level! #origamianimals are great but I seem to be stuck on the very basics. #foldingpaper #paperart
I did it, it turned out really lovely but it truly had few difficult moments, at 3:30, the moment with ears and then at 7:15. Definitely not easier than the elephant bookmark.
If you are not very experienced with origami DO NOT BOTHER. Even if you can get past the 3:40 mark, there's at least two more extremely difficult and poorly explained folds. I'd suggest looking at other types of bookmarks and returning with a lot of patience and plenty of paper.
I love origami and your videos!!! Keep it up!!!!! One question though, I'm having a little trouble at 3:40. I usually understand the folds you do, but I'm a little stuck... Still awesome!!!!!
got lost in the process at some point... missed some non major steps so the result is here but it doesn't look exactly the same. My origami paper is around 70 to 80g and it ripped on some angles. I would advise using thicker paper. Anyway, thanks for the tutorial, I would have liked some more informations on some of the steps but we can tell you're skilled !
hi, i would like to ask for your permission, if can re-record this tutorial and then re-upload it on youtube, because some of my friends found it difficult on some steps, so i want to simplifie it and make it more clear. thanks for your hard work.
At 0:15 I thought it can't be tough. I was wrong :P BTW nice paper :) Do you buy pieces like that in shop or do you have to cut it to 10x10cm squares on your own?
5:03 My model does lie flat. I know this doesn't affect the end result much at all, but I can't figure out what I've done wrong. Does anyone else know what I did wrong? That's literally the only issue I have and stress over with this design. Everything else is pretty easy to me.
While this isn't simple, it's still possible guys. This are advanced Origami techniques. I've done Origami for years, so I was able to make this. However, if you're new to origami, definitely don't try this quite yet. You also might want to learn some of the jargun of the folds. That will help you on success to complete this. :3
@SolerTorres Thanks to the amazing people who watches my videos! I wouldn't be able to translate to many languages alone!
it's so nice of you and the other people to translate it to other languages! Could i contribute by translating it to greek language also?
I'm sorry +Jo Nakashima, but like many people stated, what you do at 03:30 is pretty difficult to understand a slow motion or something would be appreciated. Cheers!
Me too !!
+Theodor Dinu I completely failed at that moment! It was especially annoying because I couldn't fold the paper back and try again!

Thanks Jo for this wonderful bookmark. There were many parts where I thought to give up but I thought if just like me if you would have given up I would not be able to make the best bookmark in the world.
Well said 👏👏
I did it! 3:40 and 5:30 were difficult steps, I had to watch it many times, I think that the difficulty level must be Intermediate.
Thank you for such a nice model! I agree with others, there are two difficult steps but after watching 3 times I managed. the result is great! I helped myself with the drawing scheme on top to figure out how should look like after 3:30

I am stunned with the design of this origami cat! This is such a beautiful neko, I really love the paper you used! #origami #neko #bookmark
Took me an hour and a half to make a 10:00 min origami video, but it was so worth it
@TheGaintking5 dutch now available!

Shiny.., Incredible .. I bet Jonakashima is hard to beat

I agree with this. Some of the complicated steps require further elucidation I.e. the wraparound color change at 3:50
That's awesome of you to put in different languages!!!
Ooooo it looks so cute~
I think I'm gonna try making this sometime!
that step at 3:30 took me so long, but i finally did it! i know it will be worth it when i finish!
I DID NOT KNOW WHAT I WAS GETTING INTO I FINALLY FINISHED THIS
the conveniently positioned circular shape for the eye and new bookmark made it totally worth it though
Thanks so much!!! I did it and now I have a beautiful gift for my close friend:)))
@1marcosescartin spanish now available :)
Very fun!! Loved the ending result!
Would love to see more videos

I did it! I see where foil paper would be helpful, with the sink folds.

Finally did it properly, holy... these ears gave me a hard time haha thanks a lot Jo !
caramba, seus origamis são os MELHORES! parabéns!
great job ! I love the result !
damn, not working on 3:40 =/
same to me
You sir have origami talent.

Gracias
WATHHHH????
It's a bit hard but I enjoyed it very much =^^= Thanks Jo!
Wow... Easier then expected

Made it. The only tricky bits was the wrap around and the back of the ears.Definitely better with good paper.
Thank You! Perfect! I did it! And It looks perfect! 3:40 is not hard. Watch carrefully again.
if you put your mind to it, it's actually quite easy, i made it almost perfect on my first try, it just took some critical thinking for certain folds.
I made it using regular origami paper, it is neat and stuff, but I think it is better done with foil paper, i'll try it on that too.
Love the Dedication =^.^=
Thanks Jo!
I made the original Neko and now I’m going to make this cuter version 🎉❤
please if you could re-do this model "cat bookmark".. it really gets hard after 3:40
and its not very clear too.. it looks simple yet so hard..
Thanks Jo, looks good.
3:48 like screwed me up......

Thank you Jo!
thank u some very much for the 2 neko origamis.. they make wonderfull gifts! z=) neko-neko
is the step with changing the color of the cat necesary while doing a cat in one color?
Every time I think I've gotten through a difficult step, there's another one. And I am careful. Forget this.
Maybe next time if you do one of these again you should provide commentary so it's easier for us
The paper it's 5x5?
Jo Nakashima, can you please do a remake of this one where you can do the ears a bit slower and maybe give some extra explanations?
Thank you for making this!
beautiful paper! i got it all, but i haven't such paper(
Kakkoi!!!Can you make more neko origami?? I love neko!!!
its not so bad :) u just need to fold the back flap to the front..
Such nice paper!
It's so hard in 4:04
It's been some time but hope you did it dude
sorry but it takes forever to understand some steps with you rotating the paper all over in your hands
I made one of these of my cat-lover friend and one for myself of course. :3
In the desc it is said "Difficulty Level : simple" so if it's simple and I can't freakin do it then I'm stupid af
very simple but creative
