  • In this video, I demonstrate how to do a repeated measures ANOVA test in SPSS. The design chosen in within-subjects design.

    Thanks so much. This is in fact one, perhaps the best, explanation I have seen on RMA.

    very informative video on Repeated measures ANOVA.

    Dear professor, your video has been very clear and instructive. However, I have a question regarding the independent variable (Gender). In this type of ANOVA, is it not required for this variable to have at least three levels (Treatment 1, Treatment 2, Treatment 3) instead of two (male/female)? Thank you very much in advance.

    Dear Professor Vahid,
    My question is, at the momemts 0 and 1 of the study all my partipants were evaluated. However, at the moments 2 and 3, some of them drop out of the study.
    Then, the sum of squares is Type III or I need to change the type?
    Thank you in adanve for your attention.
    Best regards

    If sphericity was violated and both Greenhouse-Geisser and Huynh Feldt were both greater than .75, what would you have done then?

      In such cases, I would prefer to report the results with the Greenhouse-Geisser correction applied, although I do not expect to see a huge difference between the two.

    I love the way you explained all tables for this one way anova analysis. I wonder what shall I report if no significant difference exists for within-subjects effects (Sphericity assumed, p = 0.2) but do see a difference between time 1 and time 4 (p = 0.003) in the post hoc pairwise table? I used LSD instead of Bonferroni. Can I still draw the conclusion that the variable in time 1 is significantly different from that in time 4? Thank you!

      The post-hoc analysis is meaningful when there is a significant difference as detected by the ANOVA test.

    By chance, let's say each time point is a separate condition that each participant completed in a random order. How can we test order effects? For example, whether the sequence of each condition impacted results?

    • @CBweezy999
      @CBweezy999 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      you'd have to treat each sequence as its own input variable

    I love this video. You explained everything so clearly! I have a quick question, you mentioned in the video that you don't have any missing values so for model you kept as type III for sum of squares. I have missing values in my data, what type would you recommend that I use? Thank you!

      Thank you. In this case, please use 'Type IV'.

    I just wanna ask sir if what's the difference between Repeated Measure ANOVA and One-way Repeated Measure ANOVA? I'm confused on what to use... Thank you in advance...

    • @VahidAryadoust
      @VahidAryadoust  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In one-way ANOVA, you have one dependent variable (DV); Also, your independent variable (IV) is not time. For example, DV=test scores; IV=nationality (with three or more groups). On the other hand, in repeated measures ANOVA, you are tracking one group over time. For example, test scores of a group in three or more time points.

    Hi Dr Aryadoust,
    I have a difficult time reporting my findings. I could not find an article that uses a Repeated measures ANOVA (within-subjects design) with Covariates. I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me to find one. Cheers, Hassan
