My father made us 5 kids get 1. a nursing degree, 2. gradeschool teaching certificate,3. lab technician, 4. xray technician and a 5. Two year accounting degree. We all had second and third careers over the years as well: dietician, dental hygienist, optician, graphic artist and even a 3 year degree chiropractor. We never resorted to grifting for income because we always got degrees thru junior colleges then universities. My mother has a wall of all our diplomas- it's quite a lot!
