Hey Dan! Guess what? We just bought a Drinking Post from Tess at the Spokane Ag Expo! We’re looking forward to getting it installed! Thanks for sharing!
Probably not… We really wanted it for close to the barn which is where the cows hang out a lot in winter. When we’re grazing, we’re moving every day so we just have a small tank with a float valve for that. Plus we don’t have to worry about freezing when they’re grazing.
You're right Dolly. The portable warerers are for summer/seasonal rotational grazing. The big advantage is much less wasted water than a trough and also better water quality. No more scummy algae troughs. Best wishes. Tess
Thank you for sharing this, Dan! It's great to see another video from you, and to learn of an awesome product, and to see Tess again too!
You're welcome! Thank you for watching!
Best wishes. Tess
great to see Tess again! that's a great idea. I am tired of icy water in the winter

That's awesome! Do you think you'll wind up installing more of them throughout your pastures?

Hey Dan, it's great to see Tess again🤗.
I've seen these Post waterers work wonders 👍.
JO JO IN VT 💞
They are neat! Thanks for watching, Jo Jo!
Dan, your videos are excellent as always! Tess had a great idea that I saw on a Friesian horse ranch in Canada just today! It’s wonderful!
Thank you!
I love seeing Tess in your videos!
Thank you. Best wishes. Tess
Thank You. You present it amazingly!
I love this system!
It is an exciting development. But a hose would freeze.....so that wouldn't work for winter watering. It would have to be an inground pipe.
Hi, Dolly! The portable hose one is not for over wintering. It’s for summer when the livestock are paddock shifting.
Cool product. No more hauling water would be nice.
Indeed!
It really saves time and effort. Best wishes. Tess
👍👍
Hi there, Gil!
@@RobertasArtisticAdventures Hi
6:52 is the one on the closer side Connie?
Neither of them are Connie. I should've asked Tess about her when I was there. She's up in age now so she may have been culled.
Aha. You know Connie. She is still alive and well, but not in my breeding program. Best wishes. Tess
Does the portable one just drain onto the ground? What if animals poop in it? I swear some of mine do that on purpose!
Ha! Understood. The recommended height is the "point of shoulder of the animal", so easy to drink from but not easy to catch poop. Good luck.
@@tessh7234 thanks! I'll have to think about which different -height critters I dare to mix or rotate through the same pastures.
