- I WON a tour package to Floyd,VA at FloydFest 2019 and finally cashed it in!! Included in the package were endless gift certificates to shops, restaurants, and even the coolest Airbnb in town! This turned out to be one of the best weekend getaways I've had all year, so I documented my experience in case anyone needs advice on where to go, eat, or what to do while visiting this amazing mountain town. A friend of our family used to have a little A-frame cabin on 98 acres up there I spent a many a summer day in Floyd haven't been back in almost 30 years but that's about to change real soon. The Friday night jamboree at the general store used to be lit!!!
Floydian. We moved here partly due to Floydfest. We stayed because it is a good place to grow free range and respectable humans )

I’m going in late October this year and I’m very excited! Such a pretty place.
I know that area very well!! Thank you for the great video! Almost everyone in Floyd knows somebody that plays bluegrass. Don’t forget to eat at El Charros Mexican! Due South BBQ in Christiansburg, hike Buffalo mountain, and visit Chateau Morrisette ( blue dog wine and yummy wine jelly )! Oh try visiting the Roanoke Star and the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Mabry mill and Dixie Caverns in Salem! I love Floyd “ your end-times vacation destination “ so they call it jokingly 😂. That’s the area I plan on retiring to! It just feels like like home!

Indeedly enjoyed. I've driven through Floyd years back and was amazed at the beauty of S.W. Va, being from NOVA. It felt like being in a simpler time zone. Thanks for the video.
