Hahaha. They were awesome. The run off water is run through one of the filters. So it is still clean. Just not run through the extra step for purification.
Sooo.....the question is....did you actually take a drink at the end??😂 I have heard many times to drink your own urine if you're stranded and without drinking water. This is a cool gadget that could actually save your life if you found yourself without drinking water. Also, good discount too and you don't have to worry as much about it spilling over like you do with a Berkey. That would even work at home. Thanks for sharing.😊
Great review Dee! Looks like the purifier was a sucess. I have the British Berkefeld, similar to the Berkey. I like how portable the Itehil is. This would be a great addition to those in need of filtered water and or pee. 👍👍
Me, too, but I can't figure out how to fit it in a mini van and I don't think I'd trust it with any water - no way pee! I'm beginning to wonder if it's doing the trick for my well water because I've had some serious GI issues lately. I hope this works as well as most reviews say. Longevity is what I'm wondering. Only has a 2 year warranty but the filter set I ordered is enough for 4 years for me.
Now I heard of fancy RVs having recycled shower water but you took it to another level! Your whole review was so through with the control tube of water, the testing kits and all. I think you stopped the video a couple seconds too soon when you drank the filtered pee water. I hope you get tons of views and likes for this one!
We have a Berkey and have ran some pretty nasty brown water thru it before and it came out so clear and good. I swear by it and won't use anything else. We have one for our home and one for camping.
Hahaha love it! There is plenty of fresh water here in Australia, but will all the chemical run off it’s not always safe to drink. I hate buying water due to how the plastic pollutes the water inside it and the environment once the container is empty. Well done for showing us an alternative!
Initially, I wondered why you were testing a toaster...lol. I would have loved to have this in my medical lab when I was an IDMT on remote Air Force assignments. I had to use Petrie dishes, an incubator and multiple test strips to ensure the site was getting good drinking water in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, etc. $225 is a steal. I use Sawyers and Grayl water filtration for my van while boondocking. However, I usually keep well stock ed on water. Thanks, Dee, for a great product review. ?? How long will the fully charged unit last until it has to be recharged?
Great video. When we moved into our house I drank our tap water and it kept making me sick. Found out very quickly that it had contaminates even though the water company says it’s filtered. I have bought bottled Spring water for over 22 years just so I have clean safe water to drink. It would be great to have a good filtered system that actually works to ensure 100% filtered safe water.
Oh wow! That is not good. This little system is great for that. Their website says the filters last for -> RO Filter:650 Gallons Hybrid Filter:350 Gallons Battery:2000 full cycles/about 15 years (Note:The filter life time here is from general outdoor water source. If you use it at home to filter water sources such as tap water, the life time will be longer.)
@LadyBugout Just bought 2 extra hybrid filters and one extra RO filter as well. At first was disappointed at rate good water came out, but in reality way better than lifestraw I believe.
Somehow I missed this when it was new, but today I bought the system to replace my British Berkefeld for my well water and eventually the van and your review helps validate the purchase. The company is running a nice sale for another day. I did one of those tests with the Berkefeld filtered water and before filtered. Both came back yellow, or safe. I set the plastic bottles aside to dump/recycle and a couple of days later, one of them had turned to contaminated. Thanks sharing!

When our boys were growing up we were learning about survival, and a water source we learned about was to dig a hole that you could pee in (or if it had rained or was a wet environment) and place a cup at the bottom of the hole then place a plastic cover on top of the hole with a rock in the middle to weight it down in the center. I was surprised at the price. Not including any LBo discounts, $350 MSRP (on sale for $229 as I type this) and $99 for an additional 650 gal replacement filter kit. Going by the filter costs alone, that's a little over 15 cents/gal. Not bad. Yes, it has worked well and seems like a great system. Very easy to use. And the water is clear and tastes like water from any other filtration system.
@@smoofollowingqalroundthewo206 I have the Zero pitcher, and the water is really good BUT the filters don't last very long. They are also very expensive 🫰🏽💲
Hi Dee, nice demo. Just wondering about the hosing tho. A few videos ago, you discussed the pitfalls of water remaining in the hosing of portable showers when not in use. Did you have any issues with this filtration system?
I shall see. But I flush it with clean water and now I know to dry them out in the sun if I’m storing it without use for a while. The components are detachable too, whereas in my pump it was not.
Old school here; we just used to filter, with a high quality charcoal, and boil. If we ran out of water completely*, filter and iodine tabs. EDIT: *on a hike or not able to boil. The taste of filtered and boiled water will be improved with a pinch of salt per liter and iodine water with a 'fruity' water flavouring agent.
Hi Dee it's Tony I've commented to you before I don't know if you ever got it or you'll get this one but I just want to inform you that the rule of three three minutes without air 3 days without water 3 weeks food an extension is 3 hours in extreme frigate weather I just wanted to give you the heads up so that when you say it to you audience they are not misinformed it's always a pleasure to see you and your videos keep on coming sweetie have a great day and pleasant dreams
You can survive for 3 Minutes without air (oxygen) or in icy water. You can survive for 3 Hours without shelter in a harsh environment (unless in icy water) You can survive for 3 Days without water (if sheltered from a harsh environment) You can survive for 3 Weeks without food (if you have water and shelter) Awesome little gadget you have and you know what else you have? Grit 😂 lol you're a brave lady. Hats off and thanks Dee.
The highlight was seeing your smile through the tube of filtered pee, as you found what you were doing to be amusing. I've also often been accused of finding things I do, amusing. I'm actually surprised at how inexpensive the device is, though having bought and used an RO system before, I know there are filter replacement costs to also consider. In any case, it is a seriously useful device, and might pay for itself by reducing the number of times you need to drive into town to buy water, plus the cost of buying water. Running out of water isn't something I think about much, living in a house with a really good well. But it does require the 240V electricity to be on, which during winter storms can depend upon a generator being working, which depends upon having enough fuel for that, etc. And the house is next to a pretty clean but not always crystal-clear river. My current backup supply is 5 5-gallon BPA-free water bags that I refill about annually. And I do have a Katadyn filter and some Sawyer filters.
I have been told by outdoors men that any water after boiling is drinkable? Even though I have heard astronauts drink their pee, hope I am never in that position.😮
@Lady Bugout - Dee - 😂Drinking ur "PEE"! That's awesome. Reminds me of the movie DUNE. They recycled their body fluids becuz water was very scarce. Love it😊

Turns out the Zero Water filter system/pitcher rates better than Berkey. (there is a YT vid on the tests). And is much cheaper and more portable. 👍
@@smoofollowingqalroundthewo206
I have the Zero pitcher, and the water is really good BUT the filters don't last very long. They are also very expensive 🫰🏽💲
So how do you clean the hoses?
I rinse them with clean water and dry in the sun.
Even more respect for you dear lady, those years living in the jungles of South America made you one awesome cookie!
👍🤣👍
Lol…it definitely did something to me🤪
@@LadyBugout it’s amazing how past experiences shape present perceptions, and guide our future.
Wow! Impressive machine and game-changer. You’ve got moxie, Dee!
Yes, I am impressed with it!!! Haha nobody will ever ask me for a drink again 😂
Love the content. Have a blessed day.
Thank you! You too!☺️
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I sat there with bated breath to see if you’d drink it and you cut it!!!! LOLOL!
Was it just like water??
Yep. It was actually clear and tasteless.😝
@@LadyBugout that really is amazing!!
I'm a true Fan🎉
Thank you ☺️
Old school here; we just used to filter, with a high quality charcoal, and boil. If we ran out of water completely*, filter and iodine tabs.
EDIT: *on a hike or not able to boil. The taste of filtered and boiled water will be improved with a pinch of salt per liter and iodine water with a 'fruity' water flavouring agent.
Thanks for the tip!
I’m trying to find the list that it filters like arsenic and fluoride?
Hmmm, it should be on the website…
👏👏😂 you are such a thrill seeker!
😂💃🏻💪🏼🙌🏼
Hi Dee it's Tony I've commented to you before I don't know if you ever got it or you'll get this one but I just want to inform you that the rule of three three minutes without air 3 days without water 3 weeks food an extension is 3 hours in extreme frigate weather I just wanted to give you the heads up so that when you say it to you audience they are not misinformed it's always a pleasure to see you and your videos keep on coming sweetie have a great day and pleasant dreams
Thank you. 😊
I love that you actually went for it on this video! Pee jug and all! 🙌
Thank you, Stephanie. I really was wanting to know if it worked too 😜
This could put a whole new meaning on drinking games lol
Oh dear…😂
😂@@LadyBugout
You can survive for 3 Minutes without air (oxygen) or in icy water. You can survive for 3 Hours without shelter in a harsh environment (unless in icy water) You can survive for 3 Days without water (if sheltered from a harsh environment) You can survive for 3 Weeks without food (if you have water and shelter) Awesome little gadget you have and you know what else you have? Grit 😂 lol you're a brave lady. Hats off and thanks Dee.
Thank you. And thanks for the details.☺️
Did you actually try the pee-water? I’m just curious about the taste! Nice review Dee, I love it when you jump in where others are squeamish!
@s-c.. you'd drink your pee if you were desperate & you'd have no issues with it at all
@@artsteadman2230 I totally agree 👍.
I actually did try it. And it tasted just like purified water 😜
@@LadyBugout awesome!
It must work....look at that hair and skin!! Gorgeous woman. Love your vids
Thank you ☺️
Im impressed
It’s a great little filter!
Yes, I was very curious and amused 😜
How is the filter gadget cleaned ?
Rinse and air dry. I usually wipe down with my H2O2 spray and keg it dry in the sun.
Oh wow!
It’s actually a good system!!!☺️
Awsome demo a great filter system great demo..yes i would like one of of those systems. Thank you. A cervical I would not trust. You. Yes. The truth.
That’s why I do things like this. I was curious myself and want to know too!☺️
I have been told by outdoors men that any water after boiling is drinkable? Even though I have heard astronauts drink their pee, hope I am never in that position.😮
Yes, boiling water is the traditional way to ensure water is safe.☺️
@Lady Bugout - Dee - 😂Drinking ur "PEE"! That's awesome. Reminds me of the movie DUNE. They recycled their body fluids becuz water was very scarce. Love it😊
Oh yeah…I remember that😝
Well done. Informative and useful video.
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Hey Dee I have a question how can you charge it . Does it works on usb of 230 or solar. Over here we have different charges greetings from Holland😘🌷 🇳🇱
Yes it has a usb rechargeable battery! Doesn’t draw many watts (25-60 watts).
@@LadyBugout great arround how many liters can you filter with one filter before refill.
Dee, you are very brave! 😏🤢😬😊🤗As long as it's your pee! Great filter,by the way! 💧I am so glad that it works!😂👍Take care!🤗🏕
Lol… I’m so glad it works 😝
Ok I don’t think I could bring myself to filter that but if there was no water things would change fast 😂
Yep. I was curious to know and it actually did😝
How long does the filter last
RO Filter:650 Gallons
Hybrid Filter:350 Gallons
Battery:2000 full cycles/about 15 years
how do you pronounce the name... cant believe that you didnt say it not even 1 time during the review...lol... I cant figure out how to sat it... I ordered it after watching this video and dont know how to say it and hoped you could help
😂 I don’t know either. I think it is IT-eh-hil-but I didn’t want to say it wrong. 😝
Great video and I must say you are a brave soul! Lol
Thank you Dee
Thank you. The system worked great!!!😎
Order with your code, thank you 😊
Awesome! At least you know it does what it says it does and you don’t have to put it through the test 😝
That would come in very handy! And, you're brave for drinking your pee! Haha happy trails?
Yes, it’s a great system to have especially for any emergency.
@@LadyBugout I apologize for my typos hehe
I’ll pass on the pee test! Otherwise I’m sure it will do its job well. Look for good sources! 💦
It seems to work great!!!
Not bad for under 200.00. how was that last experiment
Tasted just like water 😜
That is awesome! I would never be brave enough to taste pee! Still watching though.
Thank you, Michelle. The purifier worked perfectly.🤗
Bear Grylls know about this? You and Bear should do a survival episode together. I'll pass on my pee...it's only good to "water" the weeds.
Hahahaha
Vous êtes un héros ! 😂👍👍🇫🇷
That is kind of you to say 😊
Is battery or rechargeable
Yes! Takes a little less than 3 hours to fully recharge.
I think you just leveled up your little red van to space station status!
😂
A true fan and curious about the urine purification 😂
😂 well, it worked!!!
❤❤❤❤❤

So how do u clean the tubes for lack of proper language, ha. The clear tubes? Do u flush with biodegradable soap? What a great video so interesting . Those ladies were good sports although the one seemed a bit miffed after ha. Love the pee water experiment too, you are such a brave soul and appreciated girl. I'm gonna consider getting that. I need something that's for sure here in WA state. Oh also, is there a filter you have to change out once in awhile?
I just rinse with clean water and let it air dry in the sun. Yes there are replacements. They last
RO Filter:650 Gallons
Hybrid Filter:350 Gallons
Battery:2000 full cycles/about 15 years
(Note:The filter life time here is from general outdoor water source. If you use it at home to filter water sources such as tap water, the life time will be longer.)This is from their website.
