I loved your last van build, but this one is even better! I have not seen another small van with as much interior living space. I agree that taking out the passenger seat was brilliant. It allowed you to do a lot of extra things, but the best thing of all is that with the seat gone you can move from the driver seat into your living area without stepping outside. That's great security.
That idea of taking out the passenger seat has been an idea that I have been thinking about ever since I started this van life idea. It does make a lot more room. I am like you I could sleep there and have a lot more room in the back part of the van. Great idea.
I knew the mostly unused passenger seat in my Astro van was a space hog, but until I took it out, it wasn't clear how much! The increase of physical "air space" was a beautiful thing! Being able to maneuver around less hunched, crunched & on my knees was amazing. I'm able to utilize the passenger side foot area much better than when the seat was in. Getting in & out of the driver's seat is such a breeze, which was my primary reason for removing it. Personal safety kind of determined much of my layout. I could never fully rest thinking about the bumbling chaos of making a quick getaway if needed. I also use a folding floor bed that I can place in multiple spots. I generally I keep it close to front, though. I have discovered over the course of 2 years in this van that movable furnishings that are held in place by bungees, zip ties or tetris-packing gives me tons of flexibility, keeps me creatively thinking about tweaks, and above all, offers me a better sense of personal safety, which hard to come by in urban vehicle dwelling.
Hard to believe it's been three years.I remember when you were getting started. i've definitely had some take aways over the years. Continue to stay safe and TFS.
👋👩🐞 Your little van is so beautiful !! & It's a perfect tiny house on wheels! Its the nicest one I have ever seen! Your yard is where you make it & the views Wow Million dollar views.! 🙂Thank you for sharing annother Great video full of good advice & tips ! 🙂See you on the next video 🙂
It's so nice to see a video about van life that highlights things that are working and you wouldn't change instead of the other way around. You made so many thoughtful decisions and it all works out so well for you. I'm really glad you're enjoying your life in it. Travel in good health, Dee!
Glad you enjoyed it. I do have a video coming out about the things that I would change or have changed over the years-because I do think those can be helpful for people starting out to know that not everything has worked out for me 😛
Besides the nice basic design of your van, all the home style touches are great. Curtains, pillows, and other decorations really add style and comfort to your home on wheels. Roll on! 😎
Hey Dee !I remember the seat removal video, and thought how fortunate you were to find someone who could take care of the electrical issues. In a small space 3 or 4 square feet is a big difference !
Time flies, it seems like yesterday when Glorious Life on Wheels interviewed you but it will be 4 years in a heartbeat. Thanks for another excellent video.
Oops! There's that errant finger again prematurely disrupting my comment...sorry. I barely get 15 miles to a gallon but I love my van. I looked at Class B van's that are built with beautiful furniture and appliances. However, I still "see" potential problems with them. After two years I've set my van up so that I am comfortable. Your Ladybug van is beautifully done. Apparently, it is your personality and sense of decorum that identifies you and your van as a primo channel.
Out of all the vanlifers that I follow, I adore your van the most. I love small cosy places and feel safe in them. The only reason I wouldn't be able to live in a tiny space is that I have back and knee injuries. I would find it hard getting up from a low seating or kneeling is close to impossible. I really appreciate and enjoy your videos. I look forward to them. I love you.. look after yourself and keep on enjoying and living life to the fullest ❤❤❤❤🙏
The grey water thing is a big one for me, too. Carrying around that much grey water would add a lot of weight and you’d lose out so much on the efficiency of your van! And the bonus for not having a large supply of water (fresh or grey) is that you use and create so much less, because you’re sort of forced to! Using and creating less waste is always a bonus.
Your first video got me hooked, just how homey and comfortable you have made such a small space, gave me the opportunity to see how I could do something similar. And it works, I have an older, smaller version of yours, and it loves highways, just cruising, and like you say, it can go almost anywhere, no need to worry about branches, bridges, parking and so on. I still miss the homey vibe in mine, but I am still figuring out what I want from mine, how I use it. Which is why I keep watching, because little gems like this, to remind me of the possibilities and how I can do things. 😊 Great tips for getting more out of a small space.
I'm glad that you didn't give in, at this time, the bigger vans, since the van that you're currently in, gives you savings on gas, the ability to stretch out and properly sit, and helps you to not worry about taking out large gray water tanks( problem solved-with smaller items)! 👍Great job, and thanks again, Dee, for sharing!!🤗🚙🏞🌅
Although I have a different layout in my mini-camper, there are many similarities. So nice to see you wouldn't change a thing. Because of you I also don't have a gray water tank, I do my dishes the same and I am also grateful for the affordability of the fuel. And stealth camping in the Netherlands is also possible with this! Great to see you enjoying yourself in your camper. Think again that your mother even helped you with this choice and you will never trade it, right? And: a larger van will be still small! Thank you again, Dee!
I have always loved your van build. Although it is small, it still looks roomy. You always have great and useful ideas. Love, love, love, your videos. 😊
Hi! Dee, I found your blog about a week ago. I watched every single one without stopping! They enthralled me! I am a "wannabe" traveler! If I ever am able to make my dream come true, I would want my van to be exactly like yours! I became a patreon immediately as I wanted more and more blogs. Thank you for sharing your life and encouraging those of us who, "dream big" Love Ya, Miss Lila
I love the peacefulness & simplicity of your van. It extends from your persona. I imagine anyone feels comfortable & welcome there. I didn't realize it had been that long since you started! God bless.
Your van is beautiful! You are very talented!👏🏼 I think my ideal van would be a hybrid so I could have ac and heat, either an AWD or 4 wheel drive, and one I could stand up in to change easier and exercise. I have never seen such a van. I wish someone would create this! Wishing you well!🐞
You are in my prayers 🙏😇💕 always, if you ever get to East Tennessee, pigeon forge, Gatlinburg, the great Smokey mountain national Park, please let me know, would love to show you a round 😉, again God 🙏 bless you ❤️🙏🙌🙏🙌
@@LadyBugout yes, I opted for a bigger van bc I still have my youngest home full time and I work for the school district so any traveling I do has to only be part time on school breaks and has to accommodate both of us but I can definitely understand why people opt for smaller rigs.
I used to have a Transit Connect as my daily driver and was so sad when my knee went bad and one day I couldn't bend it well enough get out of the seat. We had to trade up for a Kia Sedona which works for car camping but even though the Connect isn't tall enough to stand in, it's better than the Sedona in height. I love everything you have done and it's lovely to see someone so happy with their home and Life.
Hi Dee, I have a 2013 TC with basically the same layout since I’ve followed you since I got my van. My first version was with a stationary bed behind the passenger seat. I found it too confining. I Like the new version better but unlike you I have a fridge and a potty. I’m 76 and not as flexible as you. I love the couch/bed but kind of a pain to pull out every night. Just had my passenger seat taken out and am thinking of doing the chair like you did. Love the extra room! Thanks for all your great ideas. You’re still one of my favorites!! Pat😊🚐
Hi Dee yes i got a great idea watching your van...you have those woorden cubbies for books and bits and bobs.... And suddenly i saw i Can make a sort of bookcase from a pallet!!! Saves a lot of room in my wagon tiny house... So thkx a lot fit your vid❤
Awesome Dee! I too was tempted getting a larger van for storage, but the 24-30 mpg just is hard to get rid of!! Even with a cargo box on top! I decided to take out all of the stow and go seats. Doing that provided the extea storage I needed. So my Pacifica will continue to be my chariot! Safe travels and see you down the road!
You are so inspiring and thank you very much. I cannot wait to start my journey. I’m on the leg-I am move moving from Texas to Lake Erie and I bought a minivan. I started my journey.❣️
Hi. Im new to Van travel! 78 and so excited to begin a new journey. Thank you for the tips.. I’m an Executive Chef and appreciate organic food and staying healthy. Love your style and attitude! 👏Im in Sarasota and hope to get on the road in April. Part time adventures 👩🍳🚐🎶👏here I come …. Stay lovely!
i saw a popular mechanics book from the 70 or 80 s and it had a concept garage that a person would park in it and open the side door or rv door and the floor was that level and a kitchen was there with a wood burner and lavatory for a vacation house/garage
Hi there, Dee. Haven't watched your videos for about a month. Happy your doing well, and your reasons for not changing anything make perfect sense to me. 🙂❤️✌️
Informative vids. I can attest to your methods of simplicity. I have lived in a couple vans and a utility / camper. All with no plumbing/ bathroom, gray water tank…. I have used many of your suggestions.! Carry on, Sister Gypsy!
I am always shocked at how often some people in this lifestyle change their van/vehicle. And rebuild and do it again. Seems so expensive and stressful, but your van is perfect 🥰
I think that depends on who you are. Some people always have some projects in their home. On wheels or not. Needs changes and solutions created. I'm one of these people who enjoys the process of improving areas. To me it de-stresses my head. 😂
Oh that’s so true! It took us 10 years to remodel our kitchen but my friends would move in and do it right away and then constantly change their house 😊
It is great to see what works for you. You have some great tips and inspiration that you have offered here. Thank you so very much! Happy trails and safe travels!!! 😊
@LadyBugout you do. Thanks for sharing your thought processes around the choices you make for what you use and why. "Little things " make a difference in the "big scheme". 🙏 namaste🙏
I had to say goodbye to my Little Red Connect. Unfortunately I paid a lot of money for a Lemon and had to cut my losses. I learned from having it so when I replaced it with a Brand New Chrysler Pacifica I totally nailed the layout. Just wrapped up my 7 week trip to the PNW and I was so happy and comfy in there. I have no “ changes” planned. Might do a couple things like paint the bed now that I know it is comfy.
Glad to see you Dee! Missed you. I love knowing that you built out your van yourself and with hand tools. Shows us that you can have a beautiful home and not need a lot of expensive power tools to create it. I too love your mini home on wheels. One day our vans will have to meet. Lol.
Thank you for talking about not changing the size of your van. I haven't bought anything yet but really wanted to know an honest opinion on smaller sizes long-term.
Hi, I love in a short bus and get the scale thing . I'm six feet tall and love my Cummins powered short bus . Kudos to u and your design. PS your very beautiful. God bless
Soooo cute!!🥰 You're so informative in your videos. Such a great personality like when you film yourself for examples of what you're talking about and edit it in; and you know that's what you're doing and you wave! So funny!! Looking good as usual: beautiful smile, eyes, and hair! The whole package... personality, intelligence, and beauty!!😘🤩😍
I'm a fan of all your creative solutions. Just a tiny question. Is ypur srivers aeat a swivel seat? Because I'm thinking that, that it would be great for guests and yourself. As an alternate place to sit.
Your space is well thought, creative, practical, and provides you with an absolutely beautiful living area-best small van build I have seen. Your van paired with that amazing lake-view campsite is paradise. The “F word” on your cup was a nice touch. I wonder what it means within the context of this video.
Yes…. NO gray water for me either. Also I am still debating on taking out the passenger seat I just have to find somebody to do it ! You have such great organization, I’m still working on it 😅
Always a all most perfect design!…of course I said almost only because is anything ever perfect…! You are such a classy lady and your home reflects that.
Hi Dee, Glad you're doing well. I love your van. I don't know if you heard that my oldest son 53 years old, passed away 3 months ago from a heart attack. Life has been a challenge for me.
I use the containers from my protein & collagen powders. They are opaque & are great for wet trash, oil pulling (you don't ever want to spit oil down your sink drain) or a sick family member to vomit in. Same sz as what you have & larger. I never have to rinse & reuse, just put on cover & toss. 😊
I love your set up Dee! Mine has changed over time a will probably change more when I’m spending more time traveling after I retire. I’m with you on the gas mileage and when I was in the Black Hills National Forest there were many stone tunnels that a larger vehicle wouldn’t have fit through!
We’ve been using white vinegar/ water as dish cleaner, rather than washing dishes. The only down side is the slight vinegar smell, at times. Think We’ll try the hydrogen peroxide ideal. Thanks for the tip.
Now that you use the passenger seat area as a bed routinely. Have you thought about how you might change the back bed area to accommodate something else you'd like?
I really enjoy having the sofa as it is. Everything about the way it’s set up is pretty functional. And I do like to have the bigger bed to pull out every so often. But, if I do think of anything, I will definitely be showing you 🤗
You get the official stamp of approval as an Efficient RVer. If I were to ever spend more than about 1/3 time on the road, I would likely 80-90% duplicate your setup and just customize it a bit to my own needs. For 1/4 time or less, I'll stick with my Prius Prime despite it having just enough space to live in, for me. You chose the vehicle absolutely like an engineer would. You customized its layout and functionality to your needs exceptionally well. You customized its look and feel like an interior decorator would, for themselves rather than to impress a client. But maybe I'm biased because it contains you, and I think you're a great person.
Hi Dee...... Thanks for sharing some more of your van life tips. It maybe a small van but with your brilliant simplistic yet fully functional ideas, its big enough for everything you need. You're always happy and have a lovely smile which is great as it proves you're enjoying life to its fullest. Once again thank you 😊....you deserve the upmost credit for what you're achieving.
Absolutely love your van. I wish I could get away with something like that, but with working fulltime on pc with monitor and quite a bit of solar, small fridge and wanting to be able to stand due to a bit of claustrophobia, I will need a mid-top full size van. Def jealous though. I hope you are having a great time!
You have such a talent for creating a lovely AND a practical van set-up. It’s very helpful to hear a list of “What has stood the test of time.”
Glad it was helpful!😊

It allowed you to do a lot of extra things, but the best thing of all is that with the seat gone you can move from the driver seat into your living area without stepping outside. Or climbing over a seat😝

I have not regretted doing it at all☺️

Yes!!! That is very smart to have the movable furniture capability. 💃🏻🙌🏼💪🏼
Hard to believe it's been three years.I remember when you were getting started. i've definitely had some take aways over the years. Continue to stay safe and TFS.
So true! It’s crazy to me too😜
I miss seeing you weekly, Dee, but I'm glad to at least see you every other week. Thank you for still creating content and sharing. 😊
I appreciate that! 🥰

Hey Dee !I remember the seat removal video, and thought how fortunate you were to find someone who could take care of the electrical issues. In a small space 3 or 4 square feet is a big difference !

Yes, I feel very fortunate too!!!

Lol….yes, I feel it’s important to think through and try to see potential issues☺️
I really like the idea of not needing a grey water system so that was really useful for me! ❤ Super video!
Glad it was helpful! I haven’t needed one in over four years, so it does work 😝
You're one of the very few, (for many reasons) van people I will watch anymore. 🤔
Thank you for sticking with me, Rita🥰
The gas situation is bad - good you’ve made a home for yourself in that van, that can still take you where you want to go 👍
Yes, I am thankful😊
I love light coming in. So many block off all the windows. I like how you don't block those you have.
I like light coming in too☺️
Big big vans get caught up in low branches
Yep😜
Out of all the vanlifers that I follow, I adore your van the most. I love small cosy places and feel safe in them. The only reason I wouldn't be able to live in a tiny space is that I have back and knee injuries. I would find it hard getting up from a low seating or kneeling is close to impossible.
I really appreciate and enjoy your videos. I look forward to them.
I love you.. look after yourself and keep on enjoying and living life to the fullest ❤❤❤❤🙏
Thank you so much. Yes, it would be very difficult with knee or back issues.
It is impossible for me to kneel on my knees, or arise from a low seat. I enjoy blogs from van living persons. Thank you.
The grey water thing is a big one for me, too. Carrying around that much grey water would add a lot of weight and you’d lose out so much on the efficiency of your van!

Great tips for getting more out of a small space.
That makes me so happy to hear! I love that you are getting creative ideas and inspiration.🙌🏼💃🏻💪🏼
Clean, Classy and cute! 🥰
Thank you! 🤗
Dee, brilliant van build. 🎉
Thank you, Tom☺️
It’s good to see you and hear your positive points about your van. Thanks for deciding to still continue your channel. I enjoy your sharing.
I’m glad you enjoy the channel. It’s good to hear 🥰
You are looking well love the trees. Best wishes ken xxx
Thank you. The trees are really beautiful!
I have always loved your van and it's setup! I love the fact you have everything you need and the space is not cluttered.

I like these kinds of update videos. It gives a better idea of what works than when a conversion is new. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you like them! I always appreciate hearing what works and why doesn’t as well!
Your van is so cute! Love it so much!
Thank you!! 😊
Oh no! So sorry, but glad you got it figured out for your Pacifica (a close second choice for me when I was looking btw)!!!
I loved this video!! Will you please post how you hung up the curtain rod, please! Thanks!
I did cover that in another video…. But I’ve forgotten where. I’ll try to cover it again.
Another EXCELLENT video!
Love your van!
Safe Travels,

Thank you! 💃🏻🚗🐞
Glad to see you Dee! Missed you. I love knowing that you built out your van yourself and with hand tools. Shows us that you can have a beautiful home and not need a lot of expensive power tools to create it. I too love your mini home on wheels. One day our vans will have to meet. Lol.
Yes!!! Definitely will have to do that 🤗
Thank you for talking about not changing the size of your van. I haven't bought anything yet but really wanted to know an honest opinion on smaller sizes long-term.
I’m glad it was helpful☺️
Saludos desde Puerto Rico amiga, siempre interesantes tus vídeos, comentarios y vivencias,
Gracias hermano!!!☺️
:) GO Dee! well DONE indeed and great share and video! Thank you, and ALL the BEST! Safe travels and Cheers ! :)
Thank you, Marty ☺️
Looks so cozy Dee!!!

Thank you so much!🥹
Hi, I love in a short bus and get the scale thing . I'm six feet tall and love my Cummins powered short bus . Kudos to u and your design. PS your very beautiful. God bless
Short buses are awesome!!! 💃🏻🙌🏼💪🏼
Dear Dee just found your video and as always a lot of great ideas so glad to hear from you as always be careful and safe!
Hey Vicki! Thank you so much🥰
Soooo cute!!🥰
You're so informative in your videos. Such a great personality like when you film yourself for examples of what you're talking about and edit it in; and you know that's what you're doing and you wave! So funny!! Looking good as usual: beautiful smile, eyes, and hair! The whole package... personality, intelligence, and beauty!!😘🤩😍
Thank you so much for being so encouraging ☺️
I have seen a lot of vans. You have made the absolute best van! What a lovely home!!
Wow, thank you! That is the best compliment I could get 🥰
Yes!!! It gets me every time😝
Dear Dee have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving!
Same to you, Vicki!!!🥰
I'm admire your simple wardrobe. What brand of boots do you wear? They look so comfortable!
They are blundstones. It’s an Australian brand-expensive but they last forever. I ordered them a half size up from my normal and they fit perfectly!!!
@@LadyBugout thanks! I’ve been looking at Blundstones. 😁
I'm a fan of all your creative solutions. Just a tiny question. Is ypur srivers aeat a swivel seat? Because I'm thinking that, that it would be great for guests and yourself. As an alternate place to sit.
That would be a great idea!!!💃🏻🙌🏼💪🏼
Your space is well thought, creative, practical, and provides you with an absolutely beautiful living area-best small van build I have seen. Your van paired with that amazing lake-view campsite is paradise. The “F word” on your cup was a nice touch. I wonder what it means within the context of this video.
Thanks Frank. Lol, it is a sticker from another channel…didn’t realize it was showing 😝
@@LadyBugout 😄
Yes…. NO gray water for me either. Also I am still debating on taking out the passenger seat I just have to find somebody to do it !
You have such great organization, I’m still working on it 😅
I hope you can find someone… it has really been a game changer 😛💃🏻🐞🚗
Great idea to comment your Van set up, afer 3 years, sometime little change are necessary, just to love it more.🥰
Yes! Glad you enjoyed☺️
You never cease to amaze. Thanks for the latest.
Thank you😊
This is an outstanding video. Thank you so much. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!😊
I have always loved your set up. You have everything needed, with room to move.
Thanks so much!💃🏻💪🏼🙌🏼
Always a all most perfect design!…of course I said almost only because is anything ever perfect…! You are such a classy lady and your home reflects that.
Awww thanks. I agree… and it is never really ‘done’ either 😝
Hi Dee, Glad you're doing well. I love your van.
I don't know if you heard that my oldest son 53 years old, passed away 3 months ago from a heart attack. Life has been a challenge for me.
Oh noooo. 😔 So sorry to hear that. I’m sending you a big virtual hug. Sending you and your loved ones love and prayers ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Great idea!! 🤗
Aaaaahhhh sweet simplicity..... How did the meeting things go in Washington???
Really well, thank you☺️
Hermoso, eres muy elegante amo tu estilo de vida❤❤❤❤❤
Gracias!!!🥰
I love your set up Dee! Mine has changed over time a will probably change more when I’m spending more time traveling after I retire. I’m with you on the gas mileage and when I was in the Black Hills National Forest there were many stone tunnels that a larger vehicle wouldn’t have fit through!
Lol…I think they are always a work in progress😝 yes, I’ve been through some similar areas and feeling so glad I was tiny 😂
Have you showed those skinny water containers before? They look great for storage!
I think so. They are awesome. I like them a lot.
We’ve been using white vinegar/ water as dish cleaner, rather than washing dishes. The only down side is the slight vinegar smell, at times. Think We’ll try the hydrogen peroxide ideal. Thanks for the tip.
Yes, I never really liked the vinegar smell. Hydrogen peroxide is a great work around for sure🤗
Great points! Would like to stand up though!
I hear ya!😝
Now that you use the passenger seat area as a bed routinely. Have you thought about how you might change the back bed area to accommodate something else you'd like?
I really enjoy having the sofa as it is. Everything about the way it’s set up is pretty functional. And I do like to have the bigger bed to pull out every so often. But, if I do think of anything, I will definitely be showing you 🤗
@LadyBugout Thank you. Since you have a tiny home, i thought there might be something you missed that the extra space would now allow. 😄
Great video. Safe travels.
Thank you!!!☺️
You get the official stamp of approval as an Efficient RVer.
Awww thanks! I was checking out Priuses when I was first looking-it would’ve been a good choice too!!!🤗
great build 😆
Thank you☺️
Hi Dee......
Thanks so much! I appreciate the kindness 🥰
Go for it! You need to do what works for you. And I’m sure it will be perfect 🥰
Beautiful travelog ty for información
You are welcome!💃🏻🐞🚗
