what did you use to strip the plastic base? Ive used Purple Power cleaner with mild success. It seemed to soften the plastic.
Brake fluid . . . usually it only takes a day or so, this was big and I had painted it at some point, it took three days. You can use it to take paint off window pieces and other plastic parts without damaging them.
@@TimeRider Not Purple Power - Super clean! It doesn't harm plastic, smells good, is non caustic and pulls chrome in about an hour....
@@pauly7218 This is George's friend, Super Clean he has to buy . . . somewhere . . . brake fluid he has in his garage. And let's not forget, Super Clean is about $12, Brake fluid, three bucks.

There's something about that truck that's really cool Lee. Straight from the packet, it just looked stupid but getting rid of that plasticky metal colour and those daft engines really helped. The cab is a fantastic shape, almost like it has swept back ears.😁 I'd love to see one converted to a flatbed, something "everyday" like a coal truck. There's a lot of possibilities with a casting like that, just not what HW did with it.
Was the Paint it Pink "planet" a dog's ball in a former life? 😁
Your showcase photo was lovely and, like you said, it did trigger my sense of smell, as well as the more obvious senses. I had it as a warm day, with little wind, and the sound of a distant tractor in the field.👌
It looks like Paint it Pink is going to be a major event this year - a great achievement for a worthy cause. I wonder if anyone will beat Marty's result from last year? I hope so. 👍👌😁
