    They're such minor mistakes in the big picture. Leon was an absolute beast of a Defensive Lineman, who could dominate a game by himself. Not that he really ever had to with Haley, Tolbert, Maryland and Casillias (just to name a few), playing at his side.

    • @TheStapleGunKid
      @TheStapleGunKid 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      They mistakes were not just minor, they were meaningless, as his team won the Super Bowl in both seasons.

    I'm an Eagles fan & I never think of those plays first because he was an absolute beast on the line. He would chew up the guards & center so the linebackers & d-ends could make the plays. I love that he mentioned Don Beebe first when talking about the Super Bowl fumble. The Dolphins play shouldn't even bother him. Like they said obscure rule. Go Leon!!

    • @SingleTax
      @SingleTax ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jimmy Johnson *knew* how valuable Lett was to the team. That's why, after the Miami game, he reassured Lett that, as long as he was head coach, he would always be a Dallas Cowboy.

    Leon was a beast of a player and if they had replay Leon might’ve scored on that SB fumble return. I was more disappointed with the substance issues he had. But Leon has three rings and was a big part of those championships.

    I was always super impressed by Leon Lett's tremendous natural physical strength and athleticism. Truth is he was a fantastic defensive lineman, and a total nightmare to square up against. Very unfair to recall his two big on-field mistakes ad nauseam.

    I admit I was one of the people screaming at the TV and cussing out Leon Lett, but he more than made up for it with all the great plays. And he didn't let it break him. He kept going, and now he's on the Cowboys coaching staff passing on his wisdom.

    Just like Jim Marshall, he might have had some embarrassing plays he wished he could take back, but anyone that saw him play knows how terrific of a player he was and I'm a Washington fan. I hated seeing our O-Line trying to block him!

    • @redmustangredmustang
      @redmustangredmustang 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      but the thing is Leon had 3 rings to show for it. Sadly Buckner didn't and he had his only shot with the Red Sox in 1986. You can laugh at Leon now, but he's a winner.

    Leon taught me that no matter what happens on a blocked field goal that you should never turn off the TV and throw your remote onto a concrete slab floor. My son picked up all the pieces of the remote and we got the TV turned back on to find that the Dolphins had won the game. Wow, i still remember how dumb I felt.

    His longterm legacy was ruined by drug suspensions during the prime of his career. He missed 28 games due to suspension between 95-99. Cost himself 3 pro bowls, a couple All-Pro teams and potentially a DPOY in 96'.

    That was the most Cowboys play of all time. Flexing the muscle of their franchises history, then ultimately coming up short when it’s time to deliver (ever since the 90s).

    The hell u mean “doesn’t let his mistakes define his career.” Name ONE play that he made that benefited his team by the time the whistle blew (emphasis on that last part, cuz blocking a kick only to then touch it and give it back to Miami for the win isn’t good enough lol)

  • @alihoussney7870

    Leon Lett when he cost the Cowgirls the game against my Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving Day 1993 only proved that the dumb only get dumber. He never learned from the Super Bowl mistake against Buffalo the previous year, on top of all the suspensions he received throughout his career. SMH
