thank you!! i'm completely new to taking care of my own car and i'm starting with the basics, and i didn't even know there were several cabin air filters. not a lot of videos are so clear and detailed, and i feel like i can take care of this on my own instead of going to the dealership. great video!
I've got a 96' 740IL and had no idea or even thought about it, but now I'll give it a try and change the ones under the hood and may even try the one behind the glove box, but I'll get you to change the one on drivers side... lol!
What is the purpose of these particular filters? Is for air conditioning or engine performance? Or nah I’m female and trying to maintenance my own car lol got water pouring from behind a belt, maybe the serpentine belt, not sure
Thank you so much man. I wasn't sure how to get to the steering column on my e38 to replace it with a better one. It had play when I drive. Didn't want to bring it to the shop and had to pay alot to get it replace. You saved me alot of money and time, pluss I got knowledge to do it myself. Thanks again. Also thanks for the info about the air filter on the driver side. Didn't know about it.
Great video, thanks! Can you do one on how to open a glove box that has the lock broken? Also when replacing the inside filters, do you buy new ones or do you just wash the filter material are re-use it? Thanks!
What is the purpose of changing out the filters shown in this particular video? Is it for air conditioning or engine performance if neither one What sure they for. I have a few diff things going on with my car atm and one being zero power, replaced few things but obviously not the right thing. Now I have water pouring from bottom of oil Pan. It’s not coming from there but running from up behind oil Pan and belt. Water pump is pumping, radiator and expansion tank isn’t cracked so idk what else it could be
These filters are for the cabin, so when your car sucks air in from the outside or recirculates the air, it will clean it. When you are using the heating or air con it should work better IF they were super dirty
Great video with really clear explanation and camera shots.
Glad you liked it!
I have a 2001 E38 M Sport, appreciate your detailed example, especially on the driver’s side filter replacement. Thank you…
Glad it was of help! All the best and subscribe for more!
great video, driver side is PIA, ( more importantly, now know how to remove brake release)

Bro👏🏼👏🏼👌
I only found out about these filters AFTER I put my dash back together☹️
womp womp... yeah that sucks. It's worth it to take it apart again
E39 has similar ventilation, but it doesnt have any filters....
I did not know that
So I order both sets off pelicanparts? 4 total?
Yep
is this the reason i have a gasoline smell in the inside? bcus i just got a 1998 740i?
It shouldnt have anything to do with that, probably a fuel leak somewhere? Or you could be running rich
@@ARPerez Thanks
